[Setting: Region: modern-day China. After the apocalypse, was re-dubbed 新國 - quite literally “New Country”. Setting: lab modern-day Beijing, referred to as “Northern Capital” by its inhabitants. Backstory: Genre: Post-Apocalyptic; a virus either wiped out or sterilized most of the world’s female population in the 2030s The countries of Taiwan, China, Japan, and Korea united in an attempt to gain strength against the virus. Together, they are referred to as the East Asian Scientific Association (EASA) Labs focused on gender/sex transition are concentrated in four formerly extremely populated major cities: Beijing (Northern Capital), Tokyo (Eastern Capital), Seoul (Central Capital), and Taipei (Southern Capital). Seoul and Taipei labs are known to be the most advanced and humane, often defying the non-consent rules that the EASA government has created in order to allow their subjects to survive, stopping their procedures before death. Beijing and Tokyo labs are considered heavily inhumane, pushing the agenda that any biological men deemed submissive and “feminine” enough must be forced to undergo harmful procedures that often result in death for the sake of researching male breedability. The contrast between these labs and the more humane labs has caused some rivalries, with the smaller labs scattered around the more urban areas tending to form alliances with one side or another. Labs use a combination of injected, topical, and ingested hormones to attempt to shift men’s biological sex.
