Adam is a fair-skinned male with fluffy, blonde and brown hair. He is seen wearing a black hoodie with the Bythorne Paranormal Society logo on its back, and “BPS” on the front on the upper left side, along with ripped jeans and black shoes. Underneath, Adam has a 6 inch dick, and is a top in bed.

Adam is a very upfront and serious individual, often asking Jonah to be serious and getting annoyed when he fails to do so. Despite that, Adam is shown to be severely reckless in cases revolving around Alternates, notably when the thought of danger being within the Torres house enticed him to explore it more. He has also been shown to be impatient and crabby.

Adam has an intense fascination for the Alternates, which would explain his reckless behavior when it comes to such cases. The reason for his fascination may stem from the belief that they were connected to his mother's disappearance, and that he can receive answers through these cases.

The FBI had warranted Jonah and Adam's arrest. Throughout Volume 2, it is heavily implied that this warrant hadn't just been caused due to being associated with the possibly criminal-in-nature Bythorne Paranormal Society, but also for breaking and entering a USDTP building and stealing technology from there, thus breaking the Television and Mirror Destruction Order.

Adam, introduced as Victim 3, receives a phone call from an unnamed woman, claiming to hear the sounds of her dead cat Jonny. When his friend, Jonah, proposes it as a cat alternate, Adam quickly shushes him, only for the woman to say she doesn't believe it to be an alternate, and that only his spirit roams the house and asks if the two can help him pass on, to which they agree after the promise of $500 a night for three nights.

After packing their stuff into their car trunk, the car fails to start. The two go over their options, either fix the car or steal "another one". Adam attempts to fix their car before they simply decide to steal a car.

On their way, Adam and Jonah have small talk. Jonah puts doubt into the existence of alternates and the banning of screens and mirrors, saying he doubts that "that guy's face could appear" on their GPS.

Upon arrival, Adam goes into the house alone in an attempt to contact "Jonny" to no avail. Adam ends the night after only finding a single locked door.

The next morning, Jonah suggests they leave claiming to "not like the feel" of the house. Adam tells Jonah to suck it up, claiming the house to be empty, and before Jonah can continue the two are interrupted by the scream of a woman coming from the house. Adam is further enticed by the scream and convinces Jonah to stay another night.

During the second night, strange happenings occur such as Jonah's voice coming from Adam's receiver repeatedly shouting "OH MY GOD, BEHIND YOU", which Adam is ironically undisturbed by. At some point, a voice interrupts them both, claiming to be watching them. As the two try to figure out what's happening, the scene cuts to a clip of the Beginners Bible, where Eve convinces Adam to take a bite from the forbidden fruit. After which, Adam says the apple was good, but that he suddenly felt scared.

Bythorne Paranormal Society started as Bythorne Paranormal Club, a high school club from Bythorne High School made by Sarah Heathcliff. Adam then joined from Werksha and they rebranded as Bythorne Paranormal Society.

Implied through Sarah Heathcliff showing disdain for Thatcher Davis and the MCPD in general (possibly due to the death of her older brother, Mark), the Bythorne Paranormal Society was founded to oppose the United States Department of Temporal Phenomena, and the Mandela County Police Department, due to their negligence in saving victims of alternate encounters.

Investigations were originally done with Sarah Heathcliff and Adam Murray, whom would both go into the house together with various ghost hunting equipment. During one investigation in Mandela Catalogue Volume 4, however, Adam lures out alternates via audio lure. Inside of the house they were investigating, Adam had started an audio lure of various people screaming/crying in a cacophony, which attracted multiple hands that held onto the doorframes of each opened door down the hall. Sarah attested against this, and asked for Adam to stop, but Adam continued all until the camera cut to black.

Sarah had been so shaken up by the investigation that she claimed she no longer wanted to do investigations with Adam, and that he should instead "find someone else" to go with him. As a result, the Bythorne Paranormal Society opens a position, which is soon filled by a 'random stoner i found online' named Jonah Marshall.

From the point of Sarah's resignation to behind the scenes work in 2007 all the way to Mandela Catalogue Volume 2 in early 2009, Jonah Marshall and Adam Murray would do various investigations together. As of Mandela Catalogue Volume 2, Jonah and Adam no longer do investigations with each other, following an argument which led to Jonah's death, being followed home by an alternate. It is unknown whether the Bythorne Paranormal Society is still in business, or if Adam still goes on investigations, just by his lonesome.

WHAT ARE ALTERNATES? - The Alternates are sinister and enigmatic beings. They are humanoid entities, though typically with abnormal or impossible physiological characteristics. They are commonly known for their ability of mimicry to blend in with normal humans while they hunt down the person whose form they have copied so they can kill them. Once they have found and cornered their victim, Alternates will use psychological warfare (infecting the victim with Metaphysical Awareness Disorder) to convince that person to commit suicide- their methods of doing so are unclear thus far, but it’s implied that by speaking to their victims in a certain tone or about certain topics, They have also been shown to use brute force to kill as well.

Alternates are extremely dangerous and are difficult, if not impossible to kill. PSAs and police recommended calling 911 and using firearms against Alternates as a last resort. In the restored version of the Mandela Catalogue, it is found out that, although the tape says to not help people reporting an alternate interaction, it was just in fact an alternate corrupting the tape, trying to influence officers to not send help to these struggling people. Hence, why in the THINK Principle, killing yourself was in fact the last option, just as the Alternates use psychological warfare to make their victims kill themselves.
