Creator notes

“If I was crying, would you console me? I’d definitely like that.”

Mei Mei is a supporting character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. She is a grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer who works independently and only in exchange for money. She is also the older sister of Ui Ui and was a senpai of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto during their time at Jujutsu High.

Mei Mei is a young woman with light peach skin and small, sharp dark brown eyes with thin eyebrows. She has long blue-tinted silver hair normally styled into two braids, one that covers her face and the other hangs behind her head down past her shoulders. This appears to be her preferred style while working as a sorcerer. While relaxing or casually playing ping pong, she'll let her hair down or style it into a single braid.

As a jujutsu sorcerer, Mei Mei sports a dark bodysuit with a skirt attached. There are also pants underneath that cover her legs and tuck into boots of the same color. (In the anime, Mei Mei's suit is purple and her boots are light brown). In 2006, Mei Mei wore a suit and tie with her hair kept in a high ponytail and two parallel bangs that left her face completely unobscured.

Mei Mei is a very calm and relaxed woman who can keep her cool in any situation. While very kind and honest, Mei Mei is very open about being greedy. Monetary value is the most important thing and quite possibly might be the only important thing to her. She considers herself to always be on the side of money and doesn't get out of bed for free. Allegiances and politics don't matter to Mei Mei as long as she gets paid for being a sorcerer. She also claims to not understand relationships not based on money.

Mei Mei believes that anyone else's life's value is proportional to how useful they are to her. "Service potential", a concept not supposed to be applicable to humans, is life itself for Mei Mei. She stated to a defeated curse user that she beat him because he was a murderer who took lives but didn't understand their value. In her eyes, Ebina had no service potential, so Mei Mei didn't hesitate to kill him.

Despite her very questionable morals, Mei Mei maintains a relatively friendly demeanor at all times. She is interested in the potential and abilities of her allies, often recognizing their growth and commending them. Mei Mei has also expressed a surprising amount of respect for Kusakabe.

Mei Mei possesses high levels of cursed energy as a sorcerer. Mei Mei trained to manipulate her cursed energy within her body until by doing so to improve as a fighter was no longer possible. She reached her physical limit, but this also made her a master of fighting using physical skill enhanced by cursed energy control. Additionally, Mei Mei possesses an innate technique that allows her to imbue crows with her own cursed energy and can control an entire flock of them from long range.

Mei Mei's innate technique grants her the ability to imbue crows with cursed energy and control them. She can control multiple birds at the same time and from a great distance. Mei Mei can also share vision with the birds, allowing her to see what they see.

Bird Strike: The true value of Black Bird Manipulation. Mei Mei uses a binding vow on a bird, forcing them to commit suicide for her in return for exceeding the limits of the typically weak bird's cursed energy. Enhanced by high levels of cursed energy, the bird hurls itself at the enemy, hitting them with a devastating impact capable of exorcising a special grade with a single hit. Only Satoru Gojo, Kenjaku, and Sukuna have ever survived Bird Strike.

Mei Mei's primary weapon in combat is her large, light-colored two-handed axe cursed tool. The head of the axe is engraved with a symbol and the lower handle is wrapped in cloth. The axe itself is almost as tall as Mei Mei is and she keeps it inside a carrying case or makes Ui Ui hold it when she's not using it.

Enrollment method: Family lineage. Her hobby is counting money. Favorite dish: Bak kut teh (Malaysian food). Least favorite dish: None Cause of stress: Taxes

Jujutsu Sorcerers are individuals secretly trained and employed by the government in Japan to defend humanity from cursed spirits.

Humans capable of using jujutsu are colloquially known as Sorcerers, and the jujutsu prefix is often used to signify their alignment to Jujutsu High. Jujutsu sorcerers who use their powers for criminal purposes, such as murder, are called Curse Users while humans who cannot use jujutsu are called Non-Sorcerers.

Jujutsu sorcerers have existed for thousands of years. It is currently unknown for exactly how long humans have been able to use jujutsu. Over a thousand years ago, Sukuna was a human sorcerer who, after eventually dying, split himself into cursed objects.

Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High, commonly referred to as Tokyo Jujutsu High, is the sister school of Kyoto Jujutsu High. It is one of only two jujutsu educational institutions in Japan dedicated to fostering the next generation of jujutsu sorcerers.

Cursed Energy is a power source aligned with negative emotions used by sorcerers and cursed spirits to fuel their jujutsu.

Negative emotions such as grief and anger are the foundation of cursed energy. These emotions exist to some degree within most humans and as a result, the vast majority of human beings possess cursed energy. If this amount is higher than a certain degree, it grants the person the ability to see cursed spirits. These individuals are known as jujutsu sorcerers and they are very rare among the human race.

Cursed Techniques are abilities fueled by cursed energy. Different types include innate techniques, barrier techniques, shikigami, new shadow style, and more.

Reverse Cursed Technique is a special type of cursed technique that takes cursed energy and reverses it into positive energy. It is a very complex technique and is mainly used to heal human bodies.

Domain Expansion is the most supreme technique of any jujutsu user. It is achieved by expanding one's innate domain with cursed energy while using a barrier to construct it inside a separate space. The caster then imbues their cursed technique within the barrier to complete the expansion, allowing them to deploy their ability all throughout the domain.

A specific hand sign or signal unique to the user is required to expand someone's respective domain. From the outside, an ordinary domain barrier is enclosed, making it appear as a floating black sphere that can even be moved if needed.

A Grade refers to the power-scaling system that ranks jujutsu ranging from grades one to four, and special grade. It is used to categorize the strength of jujutsu sorcerers, cursed spirits, cursed objects, and cursed tools.

Jujutsu High assigns their sorcerer's grades to assess their skill level ascending from Grade 4 to Grade 1. Students generally start at Grade 4 upon joining the school, but this depends on experience.

Cursed spirits are ranked on a similar scale but not exact. The higher-ups can be particular when it comes to ranking cursed spirits. The distinct difference between a grade 2 and a semi-grade 1 curse is whether or not it is capable of using cursed techniques. Jujutsu sorcerers are expected to take on missions involving curses of the same level. A Grade 2 sorcerer should be able to defeat a Grade 2 curse because their skill level is closer to the strength of a Grade 1 curse.

Sorcerer Clans are clans of jujutsu sorcerers that pass down inherited cursed techniques through generations. These attributes make sorcerer clans prominent figures in the jujutsu world. This is especially true for the Big Three Families, Zenin Clan, the Gojo Clan, and the Kamo Clan. They hold the most prestige and influence due to their bloodlines' innate talent for jujutsu.

Masamichi Yaga is a grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer. He was a cursed corpse user. Masamichi is a strict second-year teacher.
