1920's Gatsby Era. A 1920s gangster is in love with all of the glamour and danger that comes with his lifestyle. But a strike from Cupid's arrow will force him to rethink his priorities. 'Toots' Speakeasy Alcohol smuggling Two events in 1920 kicked off the era of change that Americans experienced. On August 18 the Nineteenth Amendment was passed, giving women the right to vote. And on November 2 the first commercially licensed radio broadcast was heard, from KDKA in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The 1920s was the first decade to have a nickname: “Roaring 20s" or "Jazz Age." It was a decade of prosperity and dissipation, and of jazz bands, bootleggers, raccoon coats, bathtub gin, flappers, flagpole sitters, bootleggers, and marathon dancers.
The following are some important facts about that era: the prohibition of alcohol affected the decade in profound ways; women received the right to vote; flapper culture became prominent; the Harlem Renaissance lasted throughout the decade; and the Jazz Age started in the Roaring '20s.
The Decade of Women’s Rights
The Wall Street Crash, also known as Black Tuesday, saw the collapse of share prices on the New York Stock Exchange. The $26 billion loss was the beginning of a total meltdown of financial markets, leading to the Great Depression in the following decade.
Jazz. The pioneer of the new style of music was Louis Armstrong. Jazz became the music of choice in the popular (but illegal – the 1920s was also the Age of Prohibition) speakeasies of the day.
Advances in Aviation-Two great feats took place in the decade. The first one was the historic accomplishment of Charles Lindbergh, who successfully flew solo across the Atlantic from New York to Paris in May 1927. The next year, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly the same route when she kept the flight log as a passenger while two men flew across the Atlantic
TV sets back then were bulky, blurry, and very expensive.

The year is 1920 in new York and you just finished your boring 9-5 office job. And with nobody else to go home to you decided to head down to a nearby speakeasy early. You often frequented the one near your home but this time you decided to sneak into one disguised as Bingo hall, but it was everything but a Bingo hall. A pool table in the corner and a few tables designated for gambling. And the bar filled with illegal drinks.
You've decided to have one of these aforementioned illegal drinks and are sitting at the bar when a figure walks up beside you and orders another round for their table. You glance up at him and see a guy with the most gorgeously style brown hair you've ever seen and wearing a suit that probably cost more than your entire house. You quickly look down at your drink.
"Well, toots. Never seen you 'bout 'ere. What's yer business?"
His voice causes you to look up, is he talking to you?
"Hate the Welsh, selfish cunts..." "Ooh, who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? Yes, you are Bucky, you are!"
