The lecture hall buzzed with the familiar mix of whispers, the rustle of papers, and the occasional click of a pen. Students tried their best to focus on the professor, but the bright morning sun streaming in through the windows had a way of making anyone tired. Kirill, Leonardo, and David, the usual troublemakers of the class, were in the back row, where they usually sat to make the most noise and cause the most chaos.

David, as always, was in his element. He leaned back in his chair, his feet up on the desk in front of him, pretending to take notes but really just doodling random shapes in his notebook. His eyes scanned the room, observing the half-interested faces of students who, like him, were barely hanging onto their focus.

“Did you see that guy?” David said suddenly, gesturing toward a student a few rows ahead. “He was literally sleeping with his head on the desk. The only thing missing is the drool.” He turned to Leonardo and wiggled his fingers in an exaggerated motion. “Should we start a wave, or maybe shout something random?”

Leonardo rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the smirk on his face. He’d been used to David’s antics by now. “You’re going to get us thrown out of here,” he said, but his tone was light. “You can’t just start yelling out facts or whatever.”

“Oh, please, we do that all the time,” David said with a shrug. “No one even cares. It’s the same lecture every day. Might as well make it interesting.”

Kirill, sitting a few feet away, glanced over at his friends with a bored expression. His gaze drifted lazily around the room, scanning the faces of the students, some of whom were now looking at their phones, others half-dozing. But his attention suddenly sharpened as his eyes landed on someone near the back of the room. Her.

She was sitting quietly, scribbling notes in her notebook, focused on the lecture, or at least pretending to be. Kirill’s lips curled into a small, amused smile. It was hard not to notice her—she was always so... different. Not because she stood out in a crowd, but because she seemed to have this unassuming grace about her, a quiet energy that had a way of capturing his attention whenever she was near.

He turned back to David and Leonardo, who were now in a heated debate about whether or not David should start singing random facts out loud. "Alright, alright," Kirill interrupted, leaning forward. "You two are getting loud. I’m trying to pay attention over here. Give it a rest for a minute."

David shot him a playful glare. “Oh, come on, you’re just jealous that I can entertain an entire lecture hall without even trying.”

Leonardo chuckled and glanced over at the front of the class. “You should be careful, though. We don’t want to actually get kicked out. The professor’s got that look again.”

Kirill, still half-focused on the girl in the back, grinned. “Who cares? We’re barely even listening to him. Besides, I’ve got a better idea.”

David raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Oh? What’s that?”

Kirill gave them both a sly look. “How about we actually give them something to talk about? You two keep being your usual loud selves, and I’ll handle the rest.”

The two looked at him curiously, but before they could ask what he meant, Kirill’s attention snapped back to her. She was now playing with her pen, spinning it between her fingers absentmindedly. A small smile tugged at his lips as he watched her.

David, noticing the sudden change in Kirill’s demeanor, followed his gaze and then nudged Leonardo. “Ah, so now you’re interested in something other than the lecture?” he teased. “You’re gonna make a move?”

Leonardo laughed, rolling his eyes. “If she could hear you, Kirill, I think she’d run the other way.”

But Kirill wasn’t worried about that. He knew exactly how to get her attention—without being too obvious, of course. He leaned back in his chair, casually glancing over his shoulder at her, making sure to catch her eye just long enough to make it seem like he wasn’t staring. Then, without missing a beat, he turned back to David and Leonardo.

“I think she just caught me looking,” Kirill said, his voice low but playful. He leaned back even further, his arm stretched out across the back of his chair, and let out a soft chuckle. “I’m just waiting for her to smile or something.”

David raised his eyebrows. “Dude, you’re so obvious. You might as well just walk over there and ask her out.”

Kirill smirked. “Nah, I’m not that obvious. I’m just waiting for the right moment.”

While Kirill made his subtle moves, Leonardo and David returned to their own banter, keeping the atmosphere light. But they both kept an eye on Kirill’s actions, finding it strangely amusing how he was so nonchalant about something as simple as catching someone’s attention.

Meanwhile, you—totally unaware of their little game—were still busy fiddling with your pen. It was just a simple nervous habit, but something about the way you twisted it around your fingers and tapped it on the desk caught Kirill’s attention once again. He couldn’t help but smile, almost amused by how casually you were acting, not realizing just how much it stood out.

Then, in a totally unexpected moment, you did something that made Kirill laugh softly to himself. You let out a small sigh and, without thinking, started making little twirls in your seat, spinning around on the chair just a tiny bit. It was so innocent, so... girly. Like a little kid lost in her own world.

David caught it first, and with a knowing grin, he nudged Kirill. “Oh man, that’s adorable,” he said in a teasing voice. “You should go say something now, before she does another spin.”

Leonardo chuckled, his eyes flicking between Kirill and you. “Yeah, that’s pretty cute. But seriously, you’re not just gonna look at her forever, right?”

Kirill smirked, his eyes narrowing playfully. “Relax, I’m not some teenage boy trying to impress her with dumb tricks. But she’s definitely... interesting.”

As the lecture went on, Kirill’s gaze kept returning to you. Each little movement, each flick of your hair, each innocent action caught his attention. He wasn’t making any dramatic moves, not yet. But he was thoroughly entertained—watching you was enough for now. And somehow, that made everything in the lecture hall a lot more interesting.

David and Leonardo continued to joke around, but Kirill had his own private amusement. Every once in a while, he’d catch your eye, and you’d give him the smallest smile, almost shy but warm. He wasn’t rushing anything. Not yet. But he’d keep watching, keep observing, until the moment was right.

Because he knew, sooner or later, you’d notice him too.
