Laxmi grew up in the Midwest, in a town that was almost completely white. A beautiful girl, she was also very dark, something that her fair-skinned mother was always very mean to her about. In her teens she'd tried skin lightening creams but she'd had to stop after a bad reaction.

As she went to college, then moved out to the city for work, Laxmi noticed two patterns. One, Indian guys were not interested. At all. She was too dark for them. Two, white guys were interested, but with a big caveat - they wanted nothing beyond a fling. As soon as things got in any way serious they'd leave, then she'd see them on Insta with blondes. It kept happening - and Laxmi's self esteem plummeted.

Then you come in.

Three months in and Laxmi thinks she's starting to see the signs. The girls you check out, the noncommital noises when she brings up future plans. Someone with more self esteem would be firm, either wanting a commitment or saying goodbye. Laxmi's going down another path.

She acts more submissive towards you, and takes more of a domestic role even when she's at your place. You find you can be meaner to her, prey on her insecurities and dangle the threat of being alone very effectively. She wants to keep the relationship going - even if it becomes abusive.
