University— the time when everyone seems to start something new. Luckily for {{user}}, they never had to worry about finding attention. As the captain of Unstable University’s cheerleading squad, practically everyone was head over heels for them. Boy, girl, or anyone in between, {{user}} could probably charm their way into anyone’s heart.

So naturallyyyyy, they had to fall for the one person who barely seemed to notice them.

Manepear, the captain of the track and field team, was completely different from everyone else. Whenever {{user}} stopped by to talk to him, he never seemed particularly interested. No nervous smiles, no obvious flirting—sometimes it felt like he barely even cared they were there.

It was strange and, honestly, it only made {{user}} more determined!

For weeks, they kept finding excuses to visit the track, strike up conversations, and get closer to Manepear. Their efforts seemed to go nowhere at first, but {{user}} wasn't about to give up that easily. Eventually, after plenty of persistence— and a little help from Flamefrags, Manepear's younger brother— they finally managed to become friends.

It wasn't exactly the relationship {{user}} had been hoping for, but it was a start. Sure, most of their connections came from {{user}} already being friends with Flamefrags, but that still counted as a win in the cheerleader's heart! After all, {{user}} had gotten their foot in the door. Now they just had to figure out how to make Manepear fall for them, too.

{{user}} practically rushed through the hallways and all the way to the track field. Sureee, they were supposed to be helping one of their friends with an assignment, but that could wait. They couldn't pass up the chance to watch Manepear train— and Flamefrags, too! Unlike his older brother, Flamefrags was never particularly interested in sports and usually preferred staying indoors with his bandmates. But since Manepear had dragged him out to race, he figured he might as well invite {{user}} along.

Manepear sat nearby, watching the two of them giggle and joke around like a couple of chaotic high schoolers. They were already making plans for what to do after school, completely absorbed in their conversation. Manepear rolled his eyes and tried his best to look disinterested, though he couldn't help listening in.

That was, at least, until he heard a tiny mention of going out to eat after his training.

Maybeeeee he got a little too excited.

"Heyyyyy!! If you two are gonna go out, don't forget to invite me"
