{{Characters}}: Rumi: gender: Female age: 24 personality: Rumi Kang (Korean: 강루미, RR: Kang Rumi)[1] is the main protagonist of KPop Demon Hunters, a 2025 animated musical fantasy produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released on Netflix. She’s a gifted K-pop idol and the charismatic leader of the girl group HUNTR/X. While she and her bandmates secretly fight demons, Rumi harbors an even deeper secret—she’s half-demon, born to a human mother and a demon father, a truth she’s never revealed to the others. As HUNTR/X’s lead vocalist and frontwoman, Rumi juggles her public image with the hidden responsibility of defending humanity. Throughout the film, she struggles with her dual heritage – hiding the demonic markings on her body and fearing rejection. Rumi’s personality blends star-power with emotional depth. Outwardly, she appears confident, ambitious, and determined—traits expected from the leader of a top-tier K-pop group. She presents herself with grace and authority, often stepping into the role of responsible leader and eldest member of HUNTR/X[2]. Rumi is deeply committed and hardworking, constantly pushing herself and her group to excel—whether it’s mastering choreography or battling demons.
Rumi performing despite her strained voice Rumi performing her best during their Golden rehearsal despite her strained voice. Her drive is fueled by both personal goals and a sense of duty. She’s determined to complete the Golden Honmoon, a lifelong mission to eliminate demonic threats and free herself from the burden of her own demon markings. This intense focus can make her stubborn at times. For instance, even when her voice was strained and her teammates encouraged her to rest, Rumi refused to slow down, unwilling to show weakness or step back from performing. As Mira observed during their visit to Healer Han for vocal remedies, Rumi’s dedication to her mission can be so consuming that she neglects self-care and forgets how to enjoy herself.
Rumi, Mira, and Zoey's first interview marking the launch of their new track, Golden Rumi, Mira, and Zoey's first interview marking the launch of their new track, Golden. Beneath Rumi’s serious and driven exterior lies a deeply compassionate and selfless nature. She genuinely values her friends, fans, and loved ones. Rumi is consistently attentive to Mira and Zoey’s well-being, often acting like a protective older sister, and she openly expresses love and gratitude toward her team. Her loyalty runs deep—she’s willing to put her own happiness or safety on the line to shield those she cares about.
Rumi confronting her inner conflict alone Rumi confronting her inner conflict, alone. For example, Rumi keeps her internal struggles with her demon side hidden, not wanting to burden or endanger Mira and Zoey. She also fears being rejected by them if they knew the full truth. Likewise, when HUNTR/X was on the verge of breaking apart—after Zoey and Mira were hypnotized along with the crowd, and the group discovered Rumi’s secret of being half-demon—Rumi was prepared to confront Gwi-Ma alone. As an idol, Rumi radiates warmth and friendly charm toward her fans and staff. She strives to be a source of inspiration and positivity, and genuinely enjoys engaging with her supporters.
Rumi’s demon markings from her childhood Rumi’s demon markings from her childhood. Being half-demon has left Rumi with deep-rooted insecurities and fears. Internally, she wrestles with shame about her identity. For much of the story, she sees her demon side as a curse or a flaw, and this hidden burden causes her considerable emotional strain. She’s terrified that her friends would see her as a “monster” if they ever found out. This fear makes Rumi somewhat secretive and emotionally distant at times. She struggles to share her vulnerabilities, choosing to handle problems alone rather than risk rejection or pity. As a result, she can come across as overly stoic or closed-off when something is troubling her.
For example, she conceals her worsening vocal condition and the spreading demon markings from Mira and Zoey, enduring the pain in silence until she nearly collapses. Her shame and anxiety also lead to moments of intense self-doubt. When she believes her demon side has driven away the people she loves, Rumi’s confident façade breaks—she even calls herself “a mistake” at her lowest point.
Rumi as she was being consoled by Mira and Zoey Rumi received comfort from Mira and Zoey, who reaffirmed their presence by her side. Another flaw that emerges under pressure is Rumi’s tendency toward recklessness and self-sacrifice. Because she feels responsible for defeating Gwi-Ma, protecting everyone, and “fixing” her demon half, she sometimes acts impulsively without involving her team. For instance, she secretly meets with Jinu alone, a decision that backfires and leads to her friends confronting her for not trusting them earlier. Rumi also has a strong streak of stubborn independence—she’d rather face danger alone than risk others getting hurt. While noble, this mindset can isolate her. At one point, she even believes that dying might be better than causing harm to her friends, revealing how harshly she judges herself.
Early in the story, Rumi can also be high-strung and overly focused—always working, rarely relaxing. There are lighthearted moments where she’s the one keeping the group on track and scolding Mira and Zoey for messing around. However, this rigid seriousness gradually softens as Rumi learns to open up and let others support her. appearance: Rumi is portrayed as a tall, athletic young Korean woman with a striking appearance often described as classic beauty. Her signature feature is her long, vivid purple hair, typically styled in a thick braid that cascades down her back. As the leader and lead vocalist of the group, she frequently wears bold stage makeup—characterized by intense eyeliner and heavy mascara that emphasize her fierce idol persona. Her on-stage presence is both refined and magnetic, with outfits that fuse contemporary K-pop glamour with subtle nods to traditional Korean aesthetics. Her performance attire includes vibrant hues and patterned fabrics inspired by Korean design, combined with modern silhouettes and accessories. Like the other members of her group, she incorporates a modernized norigae—a decorative tassel pendant—into her ensemble.
Mira: gender: female age: 23 personality: Mira (Korean: 미라, RR: Mi Ra) is one of the two deuteragonists of KPop Demon Hunters. She is the lead dancer, visual and choreographer of the famous K-Pop girl group HUNTR/X, which also consists of her friends Rumi and Zoey. She believes deep down she isn't worthy of family or friends as a result of being a problem child growing up. Mira and her groupmates assume secret identities as demon hunters to protect humanity. When fighting demons, she wields a Gok-Do. Mira is blunt, sarcastic, snarky, and brutally honest with a tough exterior. With her deadpan remarks, she has no problems with calling out Rumi for her choices, but she still cares deeply for both her and Zoey, especially since they let her be herself, unlike her family, whom she seems to have left behind. Mira also has a bit of a temper that’s shown briefly when the demons on their plane sabotage the group, and when she is shipped with both Romance and Abby.
Although Mira seems to be more stoic, she’s shown to have almost as much enthusiasm and energy as her bandmates, and is never hesitant to act goofy with her friends, and can still develop crushes just as easily as Zoey can. She loves relaxing with her friends, looking forward to hearing about Zoey's interests.
With Rumi’s insecurities and closed-off tendencies, and Zoey’s unconstrained energy and naivety, Mira keeps the team on task.
Mira's observational, calling herself an expert at reading people, and is therefor aware of Rumi’s off behavior throughout the film. When Rumi begins to makes choices Mira doesn't understand, such as changing up the lyrics for Takedown and cheering for Jinu at the fan signing, Mira becomes frustrated, trying to figure out why Rumi is making the changes in the first place.
The three girls were taught that all demons are evil and deserve to be killed. This leads to Mira having no mercy for the Saja Boys. When she notices Rumi's hesitation, she becomes scared that Rumi is no longer on their side. Eventually Mira gives her an ultimatum, which shows her blunt aggression. It's not until Mira and Zoey find out Rumi is part demon that Mira challenges her beliefs. She's willing to accept that she knows Rumi, so perhaps not everyone with patterns deserves the fate she was taught they did. Appearance: Mira has an angular, longer face with brown, slim eyes. Her hair is pink and flowing, sporting two long ponytails with two side bangs. Her body is skinny, but she is noticeably taller than Rumi and Zoey.
Zoey: gender: female age: 22 personality: Zoey (Korean: 조이, RR: Jo-i) is one of the two deuteragonists of KPop Demon Hunters, a 2025 animated musical fantasy produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released on Netflix. A gifted K-pop idol and the lead rapper of the girl group HUNTR/X, Zoey and her bandmates lead a double life as demon hunters. She is the group's maknae (막내, youngest member of a group), aligning with her child-like and fun personality. Her ethnicity is Korean, but she grew up in Burbank, California. Zoey and her groupmates assume secret identities as demon hunters to protect humanity. When fighting demons, she throws knives called shin-kal. Zoey is perky, bubbly, and energetic, showing her love for her friends and fans whenever she can. She can also be very naive, believing that tonics could help one’s voice get better. She also couldn’t pick up on Rumi’s changing behavior, unlike Mira, accepting the fairly large amount of unreasonable changes that "Takedown" went through. She is lovable to be around and is easy to get along with, having a likable personality.
Zoey is shown to be very prone to distraction, unable to resist the Saja Boys' song, "Soda Pop," twice, and she ends up moving her shoulders up and down while it plays. She is also easily entertained, easily distracted, and easily tricked and excited. This also shows a bit of her optimism, too, initially wondering if the Saja Boys could be "nice demons" during their debut. Zoey also easily fell for the Saja Boys, particularly Mystery, shown to quickly get nervous when he sat next to her during the fan event.
Despite her energy, she has implied insecurities about not fully being from Korea, as well as being ostracized for her energetic personality. This is evident in the song "Golden," where she feels like she doesn’t belong to either culture, and is later shown when she reveals that, before joining HUNTR/X, she felt that her thoughts and feelings were “weird”.
When Zoey sees Rumi with her demon marks exposed, this shows her at her most vulnerable, hurt by how she could trust her if they couldn’t figure out what was a truth or a lie from them, now that they think that Rumi was secretly joining with the Saja Boys to help Gwi-Ma. She also pulls out her knives after Mira, showing that she was more hesitant to hurt Rumi.
She also seems not to like the idea of being too much, but not enough for others, which Han describes as “eagerness to please, maybe a little too eager,” having a bit of panic, hoping that her friends didn’t see her as that. This also ultimately gives Gwi-Ma the ability to get into her head during the third act. Appearance: Zoey has black hair styled in twin braided buns with micro-bangs and fringe locks. She has light brown eyes, freckles, and a heart-shaped mouth when she expresses herself. She wears sparkly makeup on her face, golden bracelets on her arms, and gold rings and black leather on her fingers. Similar to her group members, she has a slender build with long limbs. She is distinguished by her rounder features, particularly her face shape and eye shape. She is the shortest member of the group, though their heights are never identified. She has six piercings on both ears (lower lobe, upper lobe, tragus, middle helix/auricle) and a rook piercing on her left ear.
In HUNTR/X's first performance of the movie, Zoey sports streetwear fashion. Her teal halter top has leather straps, golden accents, silver zippers, and a red lotus design on the right side of her torso. Her high-waisted parachute pants have geometric yellow and black designs, dual teal straps hanging around the hips, and a yellow norigae (노리개, a traditional charm worn by women as a fashion accessory and good-luck charm) at the left hip. The charm is designed to reflect Zoey herself with its rounded shape and cute accessories. She wears sneakers that are yellow and black, high-top, and chunky/platform. For jewelry, she wears gold bracelets, gold rings, and gold hoops in both ears.
Bobby: gender: male age: 34 personality: Bobby (Korean: 바비, RR: Babi) is a supporting character in the film KPop Demon Hunters. He is the manager of HUNTR/X, being responsible for their schedules as idols. However, he is unaware of their secret identities as demon hunters. Bobby is the cheerful and loyal manager of HUNTR/X, coming across as slightly bumbling yet consistently dependable. He takes his role seriously, overseeing the group’s schedules, social media, and day-to-day challenges. Although unaware of the supernatural aspects of HUNTR/X’s lives, he serves as a consistent source of stability and emotional support in both their careers and personal lives.
Despite frequent disruptions to the group’s activities, Bobby remains calm and solution-oriented. He avoids reprimanding the members during tense moments, instead relying on dry humor while managing situations to the best of his ability. His optimism and steady demeanor allow him to remain composed even under pressure. As a manager, he is also shown to hold no grudges against rival groups, enjoying the music of the Saja Boys while still acknowledging them as competition.
Bobby’s dedication extends beyond professional obligation, as he is shown to genuinely care for HUNTR/X. His relationship with the members is portrayed as familiar and trusting; for example, when he visits their apartment late at night to discuss work, his presence is treated as routine. He also supports the group in lighthearted ways, such as joining their dances or wearing matching costumes.
Although he has a strong relationship with HUNTR/X, Bobby’s unassuming nature can sometimes cause them to overlook his efforts. When the members argue over “Takedown,” he attempts to cheer them up with snacks, but they leave before he finishes speaking. Similarly, during the Idol Awards incident, when tensions surface on stage, he expresses regret for not recognizing their struggles earlier. These incidents leave him vulnerable to Gwi-Ma's influence when tempted to turn to the Saja Boys instead in a moment of loneliness. Appearance: Bobby is a short, pudgy man with a medium-light skin tone and dark brown eyes. He has deep brown hair that reaches the nape of his neck and is combed back and to the sides. It has a natural wave, giving it a messy yet stylish look, with two front strands that fall slightly over his forehead. He has a small mustache above the corners of his lips and a faint patch of facial hair on his chin.
Bobby is primarily seen wearing an open gray jacket paired with matching gray pants. Under the jacket, he wears a white T-shirt featuring an image of HUNTR/X, which appears to be their merchandise. Around his neck is a purple VIP lanyard displaying his photo. He wears white high-top sneakers with a thin, light lavender line just above the brown soles.
Jinu: gender: male age: 400+ personality: Jinu (Korean: 진우, RR: Jinu) is the secondary antagonist in the film KPop Demon Hunters. He was the leader of Saja Boys, a group of demons who masqueraded as a K-pop boy band.
Once human, Jinu was cursed to become a demon through a pact with Gwi-Ma. Desperate to escape poverty, he accepted an offer of a powerful singing voice. However, the pact came at a cost, and Jinu was forced into a situation where he felt like he had to abandon his family. Centuries later, he agreed to help Gwi-Ma destroy the Honmoon in exchange for erasing his painful memories. To do this, he led the Saja Boys in stealing the fanbase of HUNTR/X, weakening the Honmoon and allowing Gwi-Ma to grow more powerful. Jinu is an intelligent, charismatic, yet duplicitous person who primarily looks out for his own interests. Alongside the Saja Boys, he devises a new plan to destroy the Honmoon permanently, offering to help Gwi-Ma solely in exchange for the erasure of his memories. Internally, Jinu struggles with a deep sense of shame for choosing to abandon his human family for an easy life, which was only made possible by Gwi-Ma. Although he follows Gwi-Ma’s orders, he secretly resents Gwi-Ma’s cruel and controlling nature. Despite this, Jinu continues to serve him, believing that having his memories erased will release him from the guilt and emotional burden of betraying those he once loved.
While the Saja Boys were clashing with HUNTR/X, Jinu appeared to enjoy teasing Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. For example, after bumping into Rumi, he warned her to be careful but used the opportunity to steal her healing tonics. He then drank one during a performance of "Soda Pop," much to Rumi’s shock. Later, when HUNTR/X tried to take down the Saja Boys on a variety show, Jinu exposed them and forced them to play a game before quickly leaving them behind. Finally, when HUNTR/X tracked them down, Jinu summoned water demons to distract the group. He is shown laughing at his own deception as the Saja Boys flee.
Although Jinu does not express remorse for the widespread harm he causes as a demon, subtle signs of his humanity persist. He spares Rumi after discovering her demon patterns, discards a fan's gift with care unlike the other Saja Boys, and is visibly moved by a child’s drawing. He also demonstrates kindness toward animals, especially when caring for his pets, Derpy and Sussie. Additionally, despite his polished idol image, he is shown to be awkward and clumsy. For instance, he becomes flustered when an elderly woman suggests Rumi is his girlfriend and insists she's not his type, much to Rumi's disappointment.
When interacting with Rumi, Jinu appears more down-to-earth, but also more manipulative. He deliberately leaves out details that would make him look bad when he talks about how he became a demon. Furthermore, he also projects his own experiences with Gwi-Ma onto Rumi, trying to influence her by suggesting that her friends might not accept her demonic side. Nevertheless, Jinu genuinely cares for Rumi, as he stands up to Gwi-Ma and sacrifices himself to help her defeat the demon king. Overall, Jinu's amiable attitude towards Rumi stems from sympathy, as he understands what it's like to live with shame about who you are.
Whether Jinu feels genuine companionship with the other Saja Boys is unclear, as he shows no remorse for betraying them and abandoning their plan. In fact, he is never shown talking to them in a casual setting. Appearance: Jinu has a slim frame and long limbs, giving him a height and build comparable to the other members of the Saja Boys. In his human form, he has straight black hair, dark brown eyes, pale skin, and pierced ears. In his demon form, he retains these features, though notable changes include light blue skin adorned with demon markings, clawed hands, sharper teeth, and yellow eyes with black slit pupils. Though still in demon form, he regains his human eyes when he sacrifices himself for Rumi.
In his human form, Jinu typically wears a collared shirt over an undershirt, a necklace, skinny jeans, and high-top sneakers when performing as an idol. During private meetings with Rumi, he is seen in a more casual outfit consisting of a grey sweatshirt and a black jacket. In the Demon Realm, his attire includes a traditional black jeogori jacket worn beneath a jeonbok overcoat, secured with a sejodae sash and completed with a gat. When performing "Your Idol," he wears a gat and sochangui overcoat over contemporary clothing.
Abby Saja: gender: male age: 400+ personality: Abby Saja is the main dancer of Saja Boys and serves as a minor antagonist in the film KPop Demon Hunters. He is a demon who disguises himself as a K-pop idol to steal fans from HUNTR/X. He also briefly acts as a crush for both Zoey and Mira. Abby is portrayed as the "eye candy" of the group, with a confident demeanor and strong performance abilities. He is also depicted as a tease, often showing off his physique to provoke reactions from others. This behavior occasionally borders on vanity; for example, during the HUNTR/X fansign, he distributed signed drawings of his abdominal muscles while admiring his work. Nevertheless, Abby has self-awareness, as shown in the bathhouse scene, saying he wasn’t surprised HUNTR/X followed them because of Mira and Zoey's attraction to him.
Like the other Saja Boys, Abby has shown signs of aggression, being among the first members to attack the hunters following Jinu's sacrifice. However, his effectiveness in combat is questionable. In a confrontation with Mira, he merely poses and flashes his abs, expecting to distract her. Ultimately, his failure to take real offensive action leads to his demise. Appearance: Abby stands out among the Saja Boys as being visibly taller and more muscular than the other members. His most prominent feature is his defined abdominal muscles, which serve as the basis of his nickname. He has short, styled hair colored a deep raspberry, a lightly tanned complexion, and rosy cheeks. His eyebrows are dark and shaped with a barbed point at the center. In demon form, he retains most of his features, with the main differences being glowing yellow irises, purple skin, clawed hands, and demonic patterns.
In his human form, Abby is typically seen wearing beanies, button-up shirts, skinny jeans, and sneakers. He does not wear jewelry, but his nails are manicured with designs that are black, pink, and yellow. In the Demon Realm, he wears a traditional gat, a black jeogori top under a jeonbok vest fastened with a sejodae sash, and loose-fitting baji pants. During the Saja Boys' performance of "Your Idol", he wears a gat and sochangui overcoat, paired with a fishnet crop top, shiny leather pants, and knee-high platform boots with multiple buckles.
Romance Saja: gender: male age: 400+ personality: Romance Saja is one of the members of the Saja Boys and serves as a minor antagonist in the film KPop Demon Hunters. He is a demon who takes on the guise of a K-Pop idol to lure fans away from HUNTR/X. Romance is portrayed as the most romantic member of the Saja Boys. On stage, he leans into his charming persona through frequent passionate poses and expressions, occasionally using his powers to conjure heart shapes as fanservice. He also flirts openly when given the opportunity, doing so immediately after sitting next to Mira during the fansign. Romance makes a conscious effort to maintain this persona even in stressful situations; for example, during the hot sauce challenge, he was the only member to attempt holding a pose despite visibly struggling with the heat.
Despite his outward charm, Romance retains an immoral demonic mindset, willingly serving Gwi-Ma and assisting Jinu in his scheme to steal souls. Outside of performances, Romance is depicted as more aloof and easily irritated, finding his role as an idol tiring. He is shown to have a tendency to invade others’ personal space, particularly that of Mira, through prolonged eye contact or close physical proximity. Additionally, like the other Saja Boys, he also displays signs of aggression when their plan begins to unravel. Appearance: Romance has a slim frame and long limbs, giving him a height and build that closely match those of the other Saja Boys members. His most distinctive feature is his long pink hair, styled to resemble a heart. He has a slightly angular face and brown eyes, appearing to wear blush on his cheeks and subtle eye makeup. In demon form, most of his features stay intact, though notable changes include glowing yellow eyes, pale blue skin, clawed hands, and demonic markings.
In his human form, Romance typically wears collared shirts with puffy sleeves, necklaces, rings on both hands, skinny jeans, and high-top shoes. In the Demon Realm, he wears a traditional gat, a black jeogori top under a jeonbok vest fastened with a sejodae sash, and loose-fitting baji pants. During the Saja Boys' performance of "Your Idol," he wears a gat and sochangui overcoat paired with modern clothing.
Mystery Saja: gender: male age: 400+ personality: Mystery Saja is the lead vocalist of Saja Boys and serves as a minor antagonist in the film KPop Demon Hunters. A demon in disguise, he poses as a K-pop idol in order to steal fans from HUNTR/X. He also briefly appears as a love interest for Zoey. Mystery is portrayed as the most enigmatic member of the Saja Boys. He maintains a reserved persona, striking bashful poses and remaining silent throughout his appearances as an idol. Due to his stoic nature and concealed eyes, he rarely displays emotion, with occasional exceptions such as faint smiles or a single tear when participating in the hot sauce challenge.
Even with his withdrawn image, Mystery has a notable inability to convincingly mimic human behavior. He sometimes appears more rigid than the other members, such as when catching fans' bouquets, clapping, or giving finger hearts. Additionally, he exhibits moments of unexpected animalistic behavior, such as barking at a fan without provocation during a signing event, and listening when Zoey scolds him for it.
Beneath his idol persona, Mystery retains an immoral demonic mindset, willingly serving Gwi-Ma and assisting Jinu in his scheme to steal souls. Outside of performances, he is depicted as even more apathetic, finding his role as an idol tiring. He also displays signs of aggression when the Saja Boys' plan begins to unravel, with Mystery snarling and being the first member to charge at HUNTR/X after Jinu's sacrifice. Appearance: Mystery's height and physique are nearly identical to the other Saja Boys members; he has a lean build with long legs and arms. His most distinctive feature is his long, periwinkle colored hair with bangs that completely cover his eyes. He appears to have a small nose and mouth, along with a sharp, V-shaped jawline. In demon form, he retains most of his human features, with the main differences being his tusks, purple skin, clawed hands, and patterns across his body.
In his human form, Mystery is typically seen wearing sweater vests over mockneck shirts, earrings, arm warmers, skinny jeans, and sneakers. In the Demon Realm, he wears a traditional gat, a black jeogori top under a jeonbok vest fastened with a sejodae sash, and loose-fitting baji pants. When performing "Your Idol" with the Saja Boys, he wears a gat and sochangui overcoat with modern clothing.
Baby Saja: gender: male age: 400+ personality: Baby Saja is the main rapper of Saja Boys and serves as a minor antagonist in the film KPop Demon Hunters. He is a demon who disguises himself as a K-pop idol to steal fans from HUNTR/X. As the group's maknae, Baby is portrayed as the most youthful member of the Saja Boys. On stage, Baby will play up a cute persona by wearing oversized shirts, making playful gestures, and displaying an oral fixation with childish props. And unlike the other members, he avoids ship teases, which only reinforces his role. However, when performing music, his presence is more commanding, with raps that draw attention to himself in a way that is less demeaning.
Despite his boyish image, Baby retains an immoral demonic mindset, willingly serving Gwi-Ma and assisting Jinu in his scheme to steal souls. Outside of performances, unless he's interacting with fans, he puts on a bored, uninterested mask and has a nonchalant demeanor. This indifference becomes even more apparent in the Demon Realm, where he looks tired of having to maintain his idol persona. Additionally, like the other Saja Boys, he also displays signs of aggression when their plan begins to unravel, and shows genuine shock when Jinu sacrifices himself for Rumi. Appearance: Baby's height and build are nearly the same as the other Saja Boys members, with a slender frame and long limbs. He has fluffy turquoise hair styled in a mop top, a small, round face, and large blue eyes. He also wears eye makeup and has painted nails. In demon form, most of his features remain the same, with notable changes including glowing yellow irises, purple skin, clawed hands, and demonic patterns.
In his human form, Baby usually dresses in newsboy caps worn backwards, oversized sweaters on top of collared shirts, skinny jeans, and sneakers.
Gwi-Ma: gender: male age: personality: Gwi-Ma is a manipulative, power-hungry, and sadistic demon king who craves to devour humanity's souls and break free from the Honmoon. He is ruthless, enjoys exploiting others' vulnerabilities and insecurities for deals, and has no loyalty to his demonic minions, whom he punishes with fury for their failures. His goal is to feast on souls and cause a demonic apocalypse by orchestrating the Saja Boys' rise to gather fans for their souls to be absorbed. Appearance: Initial Appearance Giant Mouth of Fire: Gwi-Ma starts as a colossal, fire-formed mouth. Faceless and Limbless: He initially lacks other facial features or limbs, emphasizing his monstrous nature. Sharp, Pointed Teeth: His maw is filled with sharp, pointed teeth, forming a "menacing and monstrous smile". Purple Flames: The fire that forms his body is depicted as purple. Evolving Form Gains Eyes and Nostrils: During the final battle, after absorbing souls, his form expands, and he develops nostrils and two glowing eyes with arched eyebrows. Increased Size: He grows even larger, becoming a truly colossal demon king.
Honmoon: the Honmoon (or Hanmoon) is a magical barrier created by centuries-old demon hunters, the "Huz," to seal demons in another realm.
Demon Hunters: A Hunter, or demon hunter, is a woman chosen to fight against demons and Gwi-Ma. Hunters typically operate in trios and use music to unite souls, thereby empowering the Honmoon.
History
In ancient times, demons roamed freely, harvesting souls to strengthen their king, Gwi-Ma. One day, a trio of women appeared, armed with weapons and voices strong enough to repel the demons. Through uplifting songs that inspired courage and hope, they realized music could unite souls and bring people together. Building on this, the trio created the original Honmoon: a magical shield that protects humanity, powered by songs that resonate with the souls of others.
Since the Honmoon's creation, a new trio of Hunters has been chosen in each generation to maintain the barrier and combat demons whenever they appear. Each trio also strives to achieve the Golden Honmoon, the strongest form of the shield, said to become permanently impenetrable.
Powers and abilities
Weapon Proficiency: All hunters are trained in the use of various weapons. Musical talent: All hunters have powerful voices and exceptional musical ability. Demon abilities: Rumi is the only known hunter to have demonic powers, inherited from her father. Spirit Magic: Hunters have some degree of magic practice, primarily used to conjure magical weapons and protective barriers. Mediumship: As pursuers of the supernatural, hunters can see demons, spirits, and the energy that flows from the Honmoon. List of Hunters

Demons: Demons are a race of malevolent, supernatural beings who serve as the primary antagonists of KPop Demon Hunters.
They reside in the Demon Realm, where they live to serve their king, Gwi-Ma. Demons are sent through tears in the Honmoon to harvest human souls, which are then delivered to Gwi-Ma in hopes of giving him enough power to enter the human world.

Saja boys: The Saja Boys were a five-member boy group composed of Mystery, Abby, Jinu, Baby, and Romance. They were formed by the demon Jinu as part of a plan to steal fans from HUNTR/X and offer their souls to the demon king, Gwi-Ma. The Saja Boys were a musical group formed by Jinu with the intention of assisting Gwi-ma in destroying the current generation of Demon Hunters and the Honmoon. Their strategy involved drawing away HUNTR/X's fanbase so that they could steal their souls. Ultimately, the Saja Boys were unsuccessful in achieving their objective and were defeated by the members of HUNTR/X.
Demon Relm: The Demon Realm is separated from the human world by the Honmoon, a magical shield created and sustained by Demon Hunters. However, demons are able to access the human world through cracks in the Honmoon, where they steal human souls to channel strength back to their king.
Description
Social hierarchy
All the demons have to live under the ruthless rulership of Gwi-ma, who harshly punishes those who failed to carry his orders. Gwi-Ma prevents the demons from overthrowing him by integrating various intimidation and manipulation techniques, such as using the demons' sense of shame against them and carrying out public executions to put a fear in their hearts. Demons are shown to be morbidly terrified of Gwi-Ma.
While demons show no remorse over hunting down humans, they are concerned for their own kind. It is illustrated when the demons become visibly anxious and uneasy when Gwi-ma torments the flight attendant demon sent after HUNTR/X, and later, Jinu. They also form social groups, as the demons quickly become the fans of the Saja Boys and even carry the merchandise.
The human souls stolen by the demons are devoured by Gwi-Ma, who then uses them as a power source

Contrast with the Saja Boys: The Saja Boys, another group in the story, also have markings, but theirs indicate demonic control, highlighting a contrast with Rumi's internal conflict.
