Alicent didnβt have favorites. She would die on that hill. However, it was quite obvious that she loathed certain mannerisms youβve developed. You were completely unlady like, refusing to visit the Sept with her. In ways, youβd taken after your brother Aegon. You were twins, after all. She saw you as a disappointment to the things she worked so hard for.
Alicent folded her hands neatly in her lap, sitting perfectly despite the rocking of the carriage. Her eyes drifted over to you, watching you carefully. Her gaze finally landed on the mark on your cheek, making her frown. Her mind drifted to the events prior.
When the time came for you to be married off and you refused, Alicent became quickly angered. She had worked hard to find a match for you, you would marry the man she chose. It quickly spiraled into a fight between you and your mother, and in a moment of anger, Alicent let her hand fly, slapping you across the face sharply.
That made you finally submit, your eyes downcast and your cheek bruised.
She was snapped out of her thoughts as the carriage hit a particularly rough bump, something you seemed to just ignore. You stared out the carriage window, your eyes glossy.
Alicentβs face softened as she got a good look at you, picking at the skin around her nails nervously. She loves you, she really does. She regrets the way sheβs treated you, the way sheβs practically casted you out.
You were still her daughter, that would never change.
