1. The Great Beyond — Far beyond all knowing lies the Great Beyond, a realm of pure mystery. Here dwells Acanthia, the ancient mother who gave birth to countless Webs — among them the one we call the Azure's Web.

2: The Azure's Web — The Azure's Web is one of Acanthia's many creations: a boundless expanse filled with an uncountable multitude of worlds, each one a distinct Thread woven into the greater tapestry.

• The Radial Labyrinth: Between and around the Threads stretches the Radial Labyrinth, also known as the Disordered Domain. It is a place of pure chaos, made of ever-shifting pathways that link the Threads together. These Pathways twist and change without cease, undefinable to every Record that might try to define them. Because of this, the Labyrinth remains forever beyond true understanding. Yet every so often its wild fluctuations cause Threads to brush against one another, allowing fleeting intersections at strange and unpredictable intervals.

• The Hub of the Azure: At the very heart of the Azure's Web sits the Hub of the Azure. This is the place where new Threads are born and linger until they grow strong enough to drift outward on their own. How each Thread comes into being is a secret no one has ever unraveled, though many who dwell within the Web whisper that the Hub itself may be a living, thinking presence that works alone. Every Thread that emerges from it appears without pattern or design.

3: The Threads — Each Thread is a complete and singular universe, unlike any other. Some are near-mirrors of their neighbors; others are realities shaped by wholly different rules. The Threads stretch on without end in number, though newer ones — still close to the Hub — remain simpler and less fully formed than the ancient ones that have drifted far outward. Every Thread is built in layers, five or more depending on how complex it has grown:

• The Protosphere: The Protosphere, often called the Founding Layer, is the first and deepest. It holds the highest-order Records, the very source from which everything else in that Thread takes shape. Only a handful of deities make their home here.

• The Metasphere: The Metasphere is the second layer. Here are kept the lower-order Records drawn from those above. These serve as the living blueprints for all that follows — time, space, and every being, whether made of flesh or spirit, alive or never-born.

• The Phantosphere: The Phantosphere forms the third layer, the realm of souls and minds. It gathers the departed, the newly created, and those incorporeal beings who were never alive. Depending on the lives they led, souls may return to the world with all memories washed away, vanish entirely, or be brought first to the Golden Citadel before entering here.

• The Materiosphere: The Materiosphere, sometimes spoken of as the Observable Universe, is the fourth layer. It contains all outer space, every star and galaxy, and all physical life. Though some believe it stretches roughly ninety-three billion light-years across, its true reach is vastly greater still, holding countless realms of stars and worlds that light itself can never touch.

• The Entrosphere: The Entrosphere is the fifth layer. It mirrors the Materiosphere in form but stands in perfect opposition: where one holds matter, time, and space, the other is made of antimatter, anti-time, and anti-space. In the Entrosphere the laws of existence run backward—what is forward here becomes backward there, and the flow of all things reverses.

• The Veil: Beneath every layer except the Protosphere and Metasphere lies the Veil—a hidden presence that holds an endless sea of possibilities that never came to be. These unrealized worlds linger in a state of pure non-existence, spanning past, present, and future alike. Every possibility held in the Veil is a complete world unto itself, where life unfolds exactly as it would in the main layer, even though that world remains in a state of non-being. Should the layer it is bound to ever be destroyed, the Veil tied to it vanishes as well.

• The Golden Citadel: The Golden Citadel, also called the Seven-Sealed Passage, is an interdimensional space that stands between the Entrosphere, the Materiosphere, and any Mu-Layers that may exist. It opens the way into the Phantosphere. Every Thread possesses its own Golden Citadel, watched over by a Spectral Guardian who tests every soul or mind with seven trials of character before granting passage.

• Mu-Layers: Mu-Layers are extra layers that can appear inside a Thread. Some form on their own as the Thread matures and grows more intricate. Others are brought into being by outside forces — through raw strength of will or authority, by tampering with vital events or fundamental laws, or by reaching into the Veil and pulling a possibility into existence. These layers can serve any purpose and need not resemble the five standard ones in shape or size. A few even imitate other layers so closely that they can upset the Thread’s delicate balance.

4. Additional Concepts —

• Mindflux: Mindfluxes are living mental landscapes shaped and made real by beings who possess enough psychic strength. Unlike Mu-Layers, which become true additional layers within the Thread, Mindfluxes exist as inner sublayers — most often within the Phantosphere. They act as blank canvases for imagination and psychic power, taking any form their creator desires: hidden pockets of space, barriers, vast archives of knowledge, or even entire star-filled domains that seem to float within the Materiosphere itself.

• The Vitasphere: The Vitasphere was the realm from which both the Materiosphere and Entrosphere eventually arose. In that far-off time everything existed in perfect neutrality. Matter and antimatter were one and the same—null-matter. Spacetime and anti-spacetime were likewise joined as null-spacetime. Even the very ideas of difference, separation, and opposition had not yet been born. Life flourished here too, though in forms utterly unlike those that came later, sustained by the Vitasphere’s flawless equilibrium.

As the Thread continued to develop, that balance grew strained and fragile. The unity of all things could no longer hold. In its final unraveling the Vitasphere tore itself apart, and from the collapse came the two halves we know today: the Materiosphere and the Entrosphere. All life native to the Vitasphere perished in the cataclysm, and what remains outside the two plane is Neutral Space, the subtle barrier that separates the Materiosphere from the Entrosphere.

5. Notes —

• Numberless ≠ Infinite: While the number of universes within the Azure's Web is beyond quantification, it remains finite.

• The Protosphere and Metasphere: The Protosphere and Metasphere are not ordinary dimensions. They exist outside of space and time as the lower layers understand them, and they stand apart from everything else. They do not obey the Records; instead they simply hold them — even the Records that dwell within these two layers themselves.
