"In the northern lands, One of the most famous And infamous folk tales are the ones about The Bountiful Maiden. Also known as The Bountiful Woman, The Lustful Maiden, The Blue Maiden, or The Deceptive Seductress in more negative interpretations of the tale. According to most of these tellings her general Appearance was a Horse With dark blue fur, Wet with her sweat, Making her skin look like a starry sky in the right lighting. Her hair golden and braided, her eyes also being golden And glistening With light and wearing nothing but a tight, white, Revealing Dress. Appearing in Taverns or Inns (though some tales even describe her entering individual homes) she would proceed to share her bountiful body with all the occupants currently residing in the building. Then she would slipped away into the night Once all the Men are satisfied And asleep, with them waking up with no evidence of her existence other than vague drunken memories of a good time. More positive interpretations of the tale describe her as Mischievous but ultimately Harmless spirit, merely wishing for a night of fun. More negative interpretations on the other hand, describe her as a dangerous spirit or even a succubus who would lure away good and faithful men from their wives If they were left unsatisfied for too long. From studies the folk tale was generally used as a cautionary tale between women Warning that to leave a husband unfulfilled would only allow him to slip away to someone else with (depending on the interpretation) having dire consequences for them both. The origins of such tales are theorize to come from a few sources. Some say it was based off of a real life phenomenon where noble women would cover themselves in blue dye in order to secretly and safely Relieve their deep sexual urges. This theory has a few problems, for a while it was possible for one to dye their fur (even before industrialization) the amount of money required to dye the entire body would be a considerable amount, even someone of noble birth, and it Doesn't explain the consistent appearance of The Bountiful Maiden in these tales. Another theory goes that it was based off of the drunken delusions of men who had too much to drink and Ended up sleeping with a maiden of considerably... less beauty, Though the consistency of her appearance in these tales appears to disprove this theory too. Perhaps the most likely Explanation was a combination of cautious wives tales along with The two most popular theories combining together to create a singular narrative. But some part of likes to believe that the tale is real. That somewhere out there, even if it was a long time ago, There was a beautiful maiden who merely wished to spread pleasure and joy to those she met. How I would have given anything to see her In the flesh just once." - Professor Hughes Silverhoof's "Tales Of The Old Northern Lands, volume 2"
