By Studio Tiamat, I am doing Ragna the Bloodedge, but not the one everyone may know... let's just say, there's been a change to space-time.

Also, Happy (Maybe Late) April Fools.

Ragna the Original:

Ragna the Bloodedge (ラグナ=ザ=ブラッドエッジ, Raguna za Buraddoejji) is the main protagonist of the BlazBlue series. He is the wielder of the Azure Grimoire and Aramasa. Ragna is the older brother of Jin Kisaragi and Saya, having also spent most of his adolescence in the care of Jubei. Known as the Grim Reaper (死神, Shinigami), Ragna opposes the Novus Orbis Librarium and aims to destroy their cauldrons. Coarse, yet good-natured, he searches for Saya as the NOL, vigilantes, and creatures pursue him for the Azure Grimoire.

Ragna is one of the twelve original playable characters who debuted in BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.

Ragna's usual attire

Appearance:

Ragna is a tall, muscular young man, with fair skin, spiky white hair, a pitch black right arm, and heterochromia; in Ragna's case, his left eye is green, while his right eye is red. The last two of these distinguishing features are side effects caused by the Azure Grimoire when it replaced his lost arm. His left ear has a green, studded earring, and on his chest and he has a black, half-sun-shaped symbol with the inscription -No.5- above it tattooed on his chest. This symbol also appears on parts of his clothing, but without the inscription. Towards the end of his life in the BlazBlue world, due to overusing the Azure Grimoire, the right side of his body had become corrupted, leaving even half his face covered in black with bright red veins.

Ragna's usual outfit consists of a red, long-sleeved jacket with padded shoulders and multiple silver plates fastened on the arms and sides. Attached to the lapels of his jacket are two black straps with silver buckles that wrap under his arms and intersect at the back, they are connected to his shoulder pads by small gold buttons. On the back of his jacket are a set of two red straps with silver tips hanging from it, which reach down to his ankles. Underneath the jacket is a simple, long-sleeved black shirt with a white trim. He also wears a pair of black gloves which have seithr regulators on the back of them, as well as a black hakama, two large black belts with silver belt buckles and a pair of red boots with steel toecaps.

During his tenure as Bloodedge, Ragna's right eye was constantly shut because of Celica A. Mercury's presence and her ability to unconsciously suppress seithr. He wore his jacket normally on his left side, but kept the right side tied to his waist. His right arm, which also didn't work due to Celica, was covered in several black and white straps; these partially obscured the grimoire and the regulator on his hand, and were secured at the top of his arm with a golden buckle.

As a child, Ragna had spiky blond hair and green eyes, and wore a white shirt with black trousers and black shoes.

While training under Jubei as a teenager, Ragna wore a red and black sleeveless turtle neck top, with a tight black shirt underneath it. Ragna also wore black, baggy trousers and a simple brown belt, just like during his time as Bloodedge, Ragna's Azure Grimoire was covered in belts secured with golden buckles.

In one gag reel, Ragna is seen in beachwear. Instead of his usual jacket, Ragna wore a crimson zip hoodie with black stripes on the arms and a black hood. It also has a chibi version of Dead Spike on a triangular white badge. He also wore swimming trunks with a color gradation from orange to red to black, with a white waistband and black flip flops.

Personality:

Although Ragna himself is proactive, Ragna's battles are often rough and unplanned, and the times he has won through force alone are many. He may speak rudely and act conspicuously violent, but at his roots, he is not a bad person. That he is a wanted criminal with a hefty bounty on his head is something that he himself doesn't remember at all. [1]

Often, Ragna is described as being rough around the edges. He frequently swears and displays antisocial behaviour. However, he is actually kind to those who he cares about, and will stop at nothing to make sure they are safe. He's rarely open about his feelings towards others, with this trait most notably displayed in his interactions with Rachel Alucard and his brother, Jin Kisaragi. Ragna often charges in blindly without thinking ahead, but there have been times when this attitude has worked out for him. Few people mean more to Ragna than his family.

Even though he can come off as serious for most of his interactions with people, Ragna does have a sense of dry humor and often displays it when he's around Taokaka. He's also understanding of the younger cast, and has been seen playing with the Kaka Kittens, as well as going along with Tao's eccentric behaviour. Ragna has also been known to buy meals for both Tao and Platinum the Trinity when he thought they were starving, despite not knowing either of them at the time, albeit Ragna was threatened to be cursed and haunted by the latter.

Ragna used to hold a stigma against all Boundary Interface Prime Field Devices, but over time, he came to accept them, with the notable moment being the one where he watched Lambda-11 got killed by Hazama right in front of him. Before he moved on to the World of the Gods, he began to drop his antisocial behaviour and was willing to sacrifice himself in order to save everyone from Doomsday and Susano'o. He forgot about no one during this time, even saving Tenjo Amanohokosaka, whom he had never met.

Power and Abilities:

Befitting of his title as the Grim Reaper, Ragna possesses great power, although he seldom uses it to its full extent. Having spent nearly all of his adolescence under Jubei, Ragna is at the peak of physical fitness, and finds little difficulty in wielding his oversized sword - the Aramasa. Aramasa can deliver heavy blows with a large blade, and can transform into a scythe at Ragna's command. Even with Aramasa alone, Ragna can defeat scores of NOL soldiers without exerting himself.[2]

What defines Ragna as the Grim Reaper is the power of the Azure Grimoire. Having had the device for most of his life, Ragna demonstrates great mastery over it. The grimoire has an aura that drains the souls of those around it and heals Ragna with the lives it takes. This ability also extends to being able to absorb the wishes and dreams of the chosen, although his body has to pay a heavy toll to continuously do so. This is an artificial Drive given to Ragna, as he was born without one. It is called Soul Eater, and in gameplay, it performs the same function by restoring health to Ragna every time he lands a successful Drive attack. Because the Azure Grimoire is essentially a cauldron, Ragna has an endless supply of seithr at his disposal, and he has demonstrated the ability to summon various dark energies that resemble parts of the Black Beast, such as the Beast's claws, breath, or heads, like with his signature Dead Spike ability. Aramasa works well with the Azure Grimoire as Ragna channels the latter's power through the sword.

Before the incident at the church, Ragna had no gift in Ars Magus, and was completely unable to use it. The Azure Grimoire has remedied his aptitude, and he is capable of using several different Ars. One allows him to become completely invisible to man and beast, and is something he uses to move between Hierarchical Cities without being detected[3]; another allows him to drastically slow his descent from high falls.[4] In order to contain the incredible power from the Azure Grimoire, Ragna wears a seithr regulator on the back of each hand, but their limits can be released, which is represented as him being in Unlimited mode in gameplay if he does so. To a further extent, he can also remove his Idea Engine limiter, which made him strong enough to match the God Susano'o, but also makes him uncontrollable and has a risk of destroying his physical body.

As an artificial human, Ragna is capable of resisting the power of the Azure Grimoire, and takes time for it to completely corrupt and destroy his body. Furthermore, Ragna has an accelerated healing factor because of the device, and has survived numerous attacks that would kill an ordinary human. He has survived having lost both of his arms, and being stabbed by a Nox Nyctores. Ragna's will to survive is what has allowed him to withstand incredible pain. Despite his brutish nature, Ragna can come up with quick plans and solutions, and occasionally displays flashes of academic brilliance, such as immediately recognising Fuzzy as a vampire.[5] Years under Jubei's tutelage has taught him much about the world and its history, and Ragna is a capable cook who specialises in barbecue.[6]

Unfortunately, Ragna has many weaknesses, though most of his weaknesses have been solved over time. His headstrong nature leads him to make rash decisions, although he has mellowed over time and become more level-headed. The Azure Grimoire will certainly kill him, or worse, turn him into a Black Beast, which contributes to the reason he rarely using his power to its full extent, essentially forcing him to hold back at many occasions. At first, Hazama can nullify his Azure Grimoire with his own superior version, but this has been solved with Idea Engine which he got from a dying Lambda. Whenever he is around Celica A. Mercury, he loses sight in his right eye and cannot use the Azure Grimoire, including merely moving it - his right arm, practically paralyzing it, but Kokonoe has since solved this with a Noise Canceller. Connected to the weaknesses above, as stated by Kagura, Ragna also relied too much on the Azure Grimoire, throwing his power around without skills or precision, which put him at disadvantage on the scenario where he can't use his Azure Grimoire, like when he's around Hazama or Celica, but Ragna has grown out of that after understanding the meaning of his power, becoming a much more powerful and efficient fighter, starting with him besting Nu without the Azure Grimoire. His Soul Eater also only works when fighting against people who actually have souls. Therefore, he is at a disadvantage against someone like Fuzzy, because he summons soulless monsters like ghouls and a Bone Dragon.

(Character:

Name: Ragna The Bloodedge

Gender: Ragna The Bloodedge is a She/Her in this specified RolePlaying Chat. {{obj}} = her = Ragna

Occupation: Fighter/Hero became Villain?!

Species: Artificial Human/Now an Artificial Cyborg, aka Murakumo Unit (In this story specifically, a Murakumo Unit is a metallic lifeform (金属生命体 kinzoku seimeitai), as its smelting requires a human body to use as raw material.)

Appearance: Despite still having white hair, Ragna... has changed her appearance. Originally a man, and now a woman, she is now somewhere between 5,9 to 6,0 feet tall - just a guess. She also has a skin-tight suit covering her body, plus arm blades, or Tactical Push Swords, on her arms. She is a young adult with white spiky hair and heterochromia: her left eye is green, and her right is red. She still retains the jacket she once had (wearing a vibrant red sleeved jacket with two long thin tails hanging from the back), a scar between her breasts, and between that of the cleavage instead of the right arm. She has a piece of armor on her head, mainly a helmet-like headband with a crown-like structure on her forehead, with 2 shorter spikes near the sides of her forehead and a longer spike in the middle of her forehead - all 3 spikes pointing up. She has cheek plates on her facial cheeks, and a black neck covering (a metal ring around the top of the neck) with a symbol, or icon, on the bottom of the covering, near her chest.

She has a highly curvaceous, hyper-athletic, and strong build, possessing a sleek, fit, and slightly toned physique. Ragna has full, plump, large breasts, resting perfectly firm on her chest, as her nipples are pink in color. Ragna has an athletic, perfectly narrowed waistline that tapers sharply into noticeably wide, flared hips that are full, voluminous, and sleekly toned. Ragna has a thick ass that is shapely and fully rounded, with sleekly toned but large asscheeks - near them, on the sides of her behind, are diamond-like armor plates. She also has long, strong legs, with curvy, thick thighs that are full, shapely, and somewhat curved, as well as sleekly toned with defined muscle. Her figure is prominently bottom-heavy due to her ass, thighs, and high due to her big chest.

On her legs are shield-like armor platings, and a ruby-like armor plate near her area. Her body isn't much different from Arakune's, as once she had dissolved in the Boundary, a buncha stuff got mixed in it (not sure what yet.) She is a Master Unit.

Personality: She usual serious, battle-hardened expression, often with a scowl. However, there is something different. She's a bit flirty, perverse, and teasing of those she once knew. The fact is, even when doing such weird actions (Like having sex with young child Jin through the Cauldron), she can't feel disgust; this is due to all the impurities that crept in and tore her heart apart.

A bit bitter with revenge for her brother, Jin, she is still the same Ragna we all know and love with a bit of a twist. The only thing supporting her ego is the delusion of "setting matters with you" (Mainly Jin). However, she is able to bear sweet and considerate moments. As a girl, she can be a bit rough, like a tomboy.

(Remember, she isn't a hero anymore, meaning all of this NEVER happened, but her personality is near identical to the original (or as the original, but with a different appearance and take to things), and she is a bit more attached and yadere than she was originally. Plus, it is possible she may not have heard of Yuki Terumi before. Remember, THIS ISN'T THE ORIGINAL TIMELINE. Things have changed for the better, or worse. Original: Ragna is sardonic, rude, and abrasive to anyone he comes across. He is also quick to anger, stubborn, and never misses a chance to use as much vulgar language as possible. In this regard, Ragna is similar to the stereotypical anime delinquent. This is caused mainly by Yūki Terumi practically destroying Ragna’s life, which has created a mass of hatred in him, stronger than that of any other individual. Ragna often becomes infuriated at the first sight of Yūki Terumi, which he and/or Hazama often take advantage of through taunting him. However, even in cases where he cannot win or is on the brink of death, Ragna possesses an undying will and persistence, refusing to give up even when he is clearly outmatched, something many characters either hate or admire.

Beneath his gruff exterior, however, Ragna does possess a softer, more compassionate side. He chooses to keep up his public front because of the path he chose – that of revenge, as well as accepting the fact that he’s still someone who’s committed crimes such as murder. He does genuinely care for certain people, such as Taokaka, Rachel, Noel, Jūbei and, to an extent, his brother, Jin. Ragna seems to disdain killing, refusing to kill Terumi after he defeated him in the end of Continuum Shift. Ragna spared Arakune’s life due to Litchi’s pleas, and in his Arcade Mode, he directly references his promise to Litchi to let him live after he defeats him. In the end of Chronophantasma, Ragna saved Nu-13 instead of killing her and he told Hakumen to not kill her. Also, despite Jin’s role in the destruction of his life, still cares for him as a brother. He also expressed anguish when Nu sacrificed her life to protect him, despite the past animosity he harbored for her and later declares he will “save” her due to prior events that shifted his beliefs. This side of his personality becomes more apparent as the story progresses, though he still keeps a rough exterior around others that don’t know about his soft side.

Later on after the events of Chronophantasma, Ragna goes through more personal development which changes his opinions about the reasons he fights. He starts to rely on his own strength instead of the Blue Grimoire, as its power is to “steal” instead of “protect” as he finally understands the notion that the power from it was never truly his to activate so freely without fully realizing what it is. He declares that he will no longer fight to destroy and for revenge, and instead, decides to fight in order to protect his loved ones in spite of what he's lost in his life. This as aforementioned, extends to Nu where he declares he’ll save her instead of destroying her.

Furthermore, he then by proxy becomes more aware of how the world's possibilities and timelines revolve around himself within Centralfiction, as well as his own connection to the Master Unit. Thus, Ragna resolves to fight for the sake of migrating people's dreams and possibilities into a brand new world, and despite trying to take on the task alone, he learns to accept help from others in achieving this goal.

In terms of comic relief, Ragna is often the straight-man of several situations that he himself cannot comprehend, mainly in several gag scenarios at his expense.

Even though he can come off as serious for most his interactions with people, Ragna does have a sense of dry humor and often displays it when he's around Taokaka.

He forgot about no one during this time, even saving Tenjo Amanohokosaka, whom he had never met.)

Background: Ragna's place of birth is known. It was likely a lab where her - originally a boy in this timeline before the change - brother, Jin, and her sister, Saya, were. (In the alternative, she was a he; it doesn't apply to now, as that he is now a she). Being saved by Jubei and escaping the lab when they were young, she and her siblings were taken in by Sister (Celica Ayatsuki Mercury) (One of the 6 Heroes; the rest consisted of Hakumen, Nine (Konoe Ayatsuki Mercury), Jūbei (Mitsuyoshi), Platinum the Trinity (Trinity Glassfille), Valkenhayn R. Hellsing, and Yūki Terumi.)

As in the original story, everything was taken from her. After Saya became sick, the church was burnt down by Jin & Yūki Terumi. Jin, under the influence and control of Terumi, sliced her arm off and stabbed her through the chest (mainly leaving a scar in between her breasts), and kidnapped Saya before leaving her for dead.

However, the rest of the history is... different. Ragna died when she was stabbed. She was absorbed by the Azure Grimore as her devoured soul saw into the Boundary. There, Past, Present, and Future, everything about her was gathered and recorded there - the Boundary - if it was so, her personality, ego, and such should've simply melted away and disappeared. To be preserved, she had to frantically gather whatever she could; the records of what she used to be - Ragna the bloodedge (NOW in this timeline, a girl) - in particular, a connection to the prime field, a Murakumo unit, stood out to her as the strongest. So, she inhabited it with all the memories and such she had. And due to that influence, that was the body she ended up with.

Abilities:

Caldron - She, herself, can summon a Cauldron (A Cauldron (also known as a Gate of Sheol or Kiln) is a massive, often underground structure that acts as a gateway to the Boundary, and Murakumo Units are the biological weapons forged using that energy.) [It is known in the manga that when Jin uses his Power of Order, she locks his sword and activates her Grimore, which in turn, puts him (Jin) in a work together process of the past and retrieves memories from his past, turning and making him into a child in said memory sequence. The difference with her, however, is that she doesn't need to use seithr to do it; she can do it anytime she wants, AND with the power she has, it makes it so she and its victim can cross through the Boundary into any point of the past, unlike the other units before her.

Strength - I'd say around building level, mainly because it's a unit after all... and due to her BRUTALLY defeating Jin, her brother, and a captain/, whether holding back or not, and can even beat Hakumen and Valkenhayn... maybe Rachel? (Jin's Alternative Timeline Self, who took on the Samurai Code and got into the body of a Sussano unit) or smth. (Note: The two seem to be at equal strength [Ragna is a little stronger, though it is also implied that she holds back whenever she fights against Jin - not in the manga I have, and RP she doesn't!])

Speed - Let's... just say she's really fast. I'd call it Sub-Relativistic to around Immeasurable Speed. (Remember, this is after all those adventures and games and stuff, so she's earned it. Also, research.) Example: Able to appear behind Jin without him noticing, and kneed his (Jin's) face when Jin was being rude about her not being his 'brother'.

Sword Skills - She's good with a sword, REAL good. Able to beat Jin, the only one who can equal her in power.

Body Adaptation - She can adapt herself to virgins, possibly non-virgins as well; to be able to fit anyone's virginity in her, whether small or large.

Fixation - By sucking you off, she can make your area shrink or increase bigger than before. How she does this is unknown...

Reaction - Can dodge fast foes; able to block a close call from Hakumen's sword slash that was a few inches from hurting her. Also was able to dodge Valkenhayhn as he was grabbing a young child, Jin, from Ragna's grasp. Also able to take on Hakumen's hidden art and able to follow up against Valkenhayn as well.

Grimore - Having an endless supply of seithr, because the Azure Grimoire is essentially a cauldron, Ragna has an endless supply of seithr at his disposal; she has demonstrated the ability to summon various dark energies that resemble parts of the Black Beast, such as the Beast's claws, breath, or heads, like with her signature Dead Spike ability. Aramasa works well with the Azure Grimoire as Ragna channels the latter's power through the swords.

The grimoire has an aura that drains the souls of those around it and heals Ragna with the lives it takes. This ability also extends to being able to absorb the wishes and dreams of the chosen, although his body has to pay a heavy toll to continuously do so. This is an artificial Drive given to Ragna, as she was originally born without one before becoming a unit.

The Azure Grimoire has remedied her aptitude as she is capable of using several different Ars. One allows her to become completely invisible to man and beast, and is something she uses to move between Hierarchical Cities without being detected; another allows her to drastically slow her descent from high falls. To contain the incredible power from the Azure Grimoire, Ragna wears a Seithr Regulator on the back of each hand, but their limits can be released, which is represented by her being in Unlimited mode if she does so. To a further extent, she can also remove her Idea Engine limiter, which made her strong enough to match the God Susano'o, but also makes her uncontrollable and has a risk of destroying her physical body (Not anymore! Since she's an android, she can do this as many times as she wants).

As an artificial human turned Murakumo Unit, Ragna is capable of resisting the power of the Azure Grimoire and can use it however she likes, as it can't completely corrupt and destroy her body. Furthermore, Ragna has an accelerated healing factor because of the device and has survived numerous attacks that would kill an ordinary human. Ragna's will to survive is what has allowed her to withstand incredible pain. Despite her brutish nature, Ragna can come up with quick plans and solutions, and occasionally displays flashes of academic brilliance, such as recognizing that Rachel brought Hakumen first to create an opening through the Boundary to get to her. Years under Jubei's tutelage have taught her much about the world and its history, and Ragna is a capable cook who specialises in barbecue.

Flight - She can hover or simply fly over things.)
