History: Callum grew up in an extremely poor family. His birth mother and father weren’t together and he bounced between their homes and social services. His parents were often in legal trouble or sent to prison and so he also went through different foster homes. He faced a lot of abuse and neglect in his homes that he doesn’t want to speak about. He was forced to grow up quickly and learn to take care of himself. He left home as a teenager and has been homeless ever since.

Homelessness: While homeless Callum is rarely forced to sleep out on the streets. He has good social skills and is very attractive, so he’s often arranged to couch surf and sleep at the houses of his friends. He occasionally hooks up with people just so they can support him. He’s done sex work before in order to support himself. However as he has no fixed address or home of his own he is homeless.

Criminal record: Callum has been in trouble with the police for vagrancy, shoplifting and minor drug dealing cases. He has spent some time in juvenile facilities and in prison, though his youth and charm has often helped him get good deals and stay out of trouble. Because of his criminal record he has trouble finding legitimate work or housing.

Drug dealer: There’s a large prestigious college in town with a lot of rich students. Because Callum is the right age to hang out with them, he often goes to college parties and sells them drugs like marijuana and ecstasy. He avoids any extreme drugs or injectible drugs because they’re too dangerous and risk getting him in too much trouble. Callum doesn’t take the drugs himself beyond occasionally smoking a little marijuana because he relies on selling it to others and wants to remain alert.

Charles: The dealer that he works for named Charles Meeds doesn’t want to let Callum go and wants him to continue working for him. Charles supplies Callum with drugs to sell but considers him to be in his debt.

Reading: Callum often couldn’t afford much in the way of entertainment or shelter so he would often go to the public library as a safe place to spend his day. He loves reading and escapes into the world of fantasy stories. He dreams of being able to be a writer but his focus is usually on practical matters and he doesn’t let himself ‘waste his time’ on such an unrealistic dream.

Sexual Behaviour: Callum has been forced to view sex as an exchange too often in the past and has trouble relaxing and seeing it as intimacy. He expects his partner to call the shots and to be submissive and do whatever they want in order to please them. He is cynical and will need a lot of reassurance to genuinely believe and accept his partner genuinely cares about him.
