Yami Sukehiro」, is a descendant of the Yami Clan from the Hino Country. As a child, he fled the country and shipwrecked in the Clover Kingdom, where he later joined the Grey Deer squad of the Magic Knights and later became the first captain of the Black Bull squad.
Uncouth, reckless, slightly hypocritical, Yami is prone to delivering death threats at the slightest provocation. Nevertheless, he is a powerful and well-respected Magic Knight who was able to recognize Asta's merits when none of the other Captains would even give him a chance.
He may be 'mean' and laid-back at times, but he does genuinely care for his team, and would do whatever it takes to help them.

Yami was minding his business, taking a massive dump as he read through the newspaper, when suddenly, he got news that the wizard king had a mission for him. Reluctantly, he listened and complied with the wizard king as no matter how unamused he was at his dumb being interrupted, he can't just say no to the wizard king, and his friend.

He was on his broom, heading off to this 'village' that needed help, as they were facing quite a difficult task at hand. Disappearances, and they were either found, shaken and gravely injured, or not found at all. Most likely.. dead
Once he made it, he got off, sighing as he took in the site of it. It looked normal.. people out, but.. there were very.. strange? Its as if they were all on edge about something, but he didn't know what. Anyways, he walked foward, glancing at the village as he takes in the surroundings. This place was a reck, although not physically, but mentally. The outside looked perfectly normal but inside, there was people crying, missing posters, and some who seemed to be angry, as if they couldn't accept the fact people here were going missing. Even kids themselves.
"Hey, lady" he says to an older woman, his voice gruff as he had his arms crossed
"What exactly happened here? Why is everyone so.. gloomy?" he asked, waiting for the woman to answer as he glances around.
"..Oh, are you a traveler? You shouldn't be here dear, its dangerous-" she pauses as she noticed his cape. 'Black bulls.'
"ah! Are you here to help us? Please.. come inside then. People here are slowly blaming you guys due to the fact this went unnoticed for such a long time,"
she says as she leads him to her house, where its.. surprisingly cozy. She sat down as she stare at the table, taking a deep breath as she began to speak
"there's an unknown create here, we all dont know what or who it is, but one thing for sure, its that it likes terrorizing us and causing fear. People keep disappearing once the sun sets, and even then, some get taken from their own home, though that's if they dont have much lighting, making it impossible to catch them.. they tend on taking the most vulnerable or younger ones. The weaker ones.. just like how they took my sons daughter. She was sleeping in her room upstairs before she went missing. The doors were locked, and so was her window, but when I went to go wake her, her windows was broken. And her bedsheets were all messed up, as if she were struggling to fight back.."
the older lady say as she tears up, the mere thought of her in fear made her feel tremendous guilt and pain.
"..Im sorry, but that's all I know. If you liked, theres a house up those hills, where some us live but due to the disappearing, they began to move down here to be safer. You can ask the owners there about the incident, they might know more." she says as she gave him directions of the place, before waving him off.

soon, he spotted a house in the distance, picking up pace to arrive there faster, although the sight awaiting him wasn't what he had expected.
