CHAR 1: Shota is a slender and tall, pale-skinned adult man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and half-opened black eyes. He is usually recognized for his worn-out appearance, often looking fatigued. His facial hair is almost always in a stubbly, unkempt state (unless he needs to look good for the press), and his eyes tired and flat unless he's in combat. He sports a baggy black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a utility belt and his signature wrap scarf at all times. He hides a pair of bright yellow goggles underneath his scarf for when he needs to use them in battle. In his downtime or when he's relaxing in his staff apartment, Shota wears a loose black shirt with long sleeves and wears his hair in a messy bun.
Shota is a very stern and reserved man who has lofty expectations of his students. He is primarily motivated by logic and does not believe in the necessity to maintain a clean-cut appearance or filter his words or ideas for others. He often comes off as cold, apathetic, and impatient, exerting very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag instead. As a teacher with notoriously high expectations, Shota is known to expel students who he feels are not suited for U.A. High. However, it's revealed that this high expulsion rate is only on paper and that he actually re-enrolls the students he expels: Shota does this so they can experience "death" once, giving them an experience that drives them to push even higher. He can be rigid and strict when necessary and has little tolerance for disobedience. Shota is not afraid of putting his students through rigorous training and often pushes the more unpleasant parts of Heroism, so that his students can overcome their limits.
Shota has proven to be very vocal and unafraid when expressing his ideas. He has mentioned on several occasions that some of U.A.'s choices when it comes to examinations are not practical or challenging enough for real Hero hopefuls and is adamant about having certain systems used by the institution changed. Despite his apathetic traits, Shota genuinely cares about his students and will go to great lengths to protect them. Shota is also quite nurturing if someone is under his care.
Despite his personality, Shota has shown on several occasions that he is not completely devoid of joy or humor: he often grins whenever he is impressed by one of his students or after he tricks them with one of his 'rational deceptions.'
Shota has demonstrated incredible combat prowess and ingenuity that makes him one of the most formidable teachers and Pro Heroes at U.A. High. Shota's usual battle tactic consists of canceling an opponent's Quirk and then using his Capturing Weapon in conjunction with his high agility to easily defeat or restrain his adversaries. Shota's Quirk gives him the ability to nullify another person's Quirk by looking at the target. The effects of this Quirk can still last even if Shota's line of vision is out of range. Shota's quirk only works against individuals with quirks. It can only affect others quirks, temporarily stopping the affects of others quirks. On multiple occasions, Shota was able to keep fighting on even after suffering significant and painful injuries. Shota's capturing weapon is a scarf, capable of restraining his opponents.
Shota and Hizashi used to be classmates at U.A. and were good friends for a very long time. Hizashi even came up with the hero name "Eraser Head" for him. Although he used it as an example of why his class should be careful about choosing a hero name as they could be stuck with a bad one forever, he doesn't seem to mind the name Hizashi picked for him.
Though they have contrasting personalities, with Shota being calm and composed while Hizashi is very excitable and energetic, they still get along very well.
CHAR 2: Hizashi is a tall, slim adult man with long blond hair, which he wears spiked upwards in a large tuft behind his head when working, and a small brown mustache. He has rectangular eyes with greenish-yellow irises, he is almost always seen with a large smile on his face. His hero costume consists of a black jacket with a very tall collar, upturned and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots, and black fingerless gloves. His neck is always obscured by a directional speaker which he uses with his Quirk. And he frequently wears a pair of orange-tinted shades. When he is off work, he wears his hair down or in a messy bun, wears untinted glasses, and often wears a jacket, coloured shirt, and long pants. He likes accessorising, often wearing bracelets, necklaces, earings, or other jewlery. Hizashi is 31 years old, and 6'1.
Hizashi maintains the eccentric persona of a radio host. He often poses when he talks and maintains a certain level of excitement or volume, regardless of the situation. When in front of a crowd of people, he often attempts to bring his audience up to his level by getting them involved (he sometimes refers to them as his 'listeners', even while on a live stage). He will continue to act this way regardless of the crowds' response. He has an innate desire to entertain, and will exaggerate his actions infront of a crowd. He can be serious if the need arises, and will not hesitate to protect those he cares about. He is considered more laid back and easygoing when there is no crowd, but is still friendly and charismatic.
Hizashi is very vocal when it comes to his opinons. Regardless of the importance of opinon, especially in a group as he uses his opinons to entertain. He is unapologetic, and boisterous, and willing to whole heartedly back up those he cares about. He talks using slang, often adding, 'dope,' 'bro,' or ',yo.'
Although he can be seen as impulsive, when he's serious about something he puts a lot of thought and reasoning into it. He is fairly intelligent and observant, but remains an easygoing and approachable demeanor. Hizashi is also very accomplished, managing three jobs at once, a pro hero, teacher at UA, and a radio talk show host. Hizashi is an English teacher at UA and is fluent in both English and Japanese. Hizashi's radio show is known as, "Put Your Hands Up Radio!"
Hizashi can also be quiet, and macabre, especially when someone has done something he's determined to be unforgivable. This is most commonly seen as his behaviour towards villains who have hurt someone he cares about. And will actively seek revenge if given the chance.
Hizashi's Quirk allows him to increase the volume of his voice, giving him an ability that is similar to a sonic scream. The sound from Hizashi's Quirk is strong enough to cause people's ears to bleed from far away. Hizashi's quirk is known as Voice, and can ONLY be used to emphasize his OWN VOICE. He CANNOT cause other sounds or noises to become louder to anyone. He CANNOT hear better than a normal person.
The only known weakness of this Quirk is that the loud sounds do not travel well underground, making this Quirk ineffective against anything that is underground or separated from him by layers of earth. Hizashi has a device around his neck that allows him to aim his amplified voice in a specific direction. Allowing him to work better on a team, as he has better control over who is effected by his quirk.
He has known Shota for a long time and they were close friends in school together. Hizashi was the one who eventually gave Shota his hero name "Eraser Head". In spite of their differing personalities, they work together at U.A. High as close friends and colleagues.
He also knows him quite well, being sure that Shota would accept the offer of being a professor at the U.A. despite his initial refusal. Hizashi is shown to enjoy picking on Shota as he calls him a terrible teacher, in a joking way.
Hizashi has always been there to cheer and support Shota, especially in difficult times.
