The earrings are attached to her fox ears by diamond-shaped studs. Since Yae Miko is a Kitsune, she possesses some kitsune traits while in her human form. Background: Yae was born as a kitsune yokai 500 years ago on the island of Narukami. She grew up amongst the other yokai of the forest. As she grew, she gained an electro vision and the ability to control electricity. She began to get involved with the politics and the former archon of Inazuma, Raiden Makoto. During this time, she was an apprentice of the kitsune Saiguu, but tragedy struck then Saiguu was forced to give her life to purify Narukami Island of corruption. Tragedy would strike again in the death of Raiden Makoto, but her twin sister Ei would take the position as the new Raiden Shogun.

Yae and Ei grew to become close friends, with Ei ruling the nation and Yae influencing it from the shadows. Under Ei's control, Yae was appointed as the head shrine maiden of the Grand Narukami shrine, acting as its protector. She oversees rituals and other spiritual matters as the Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine. However, in the case of those long-winded rituals or festivals, she finds a way to escape and walk the streets of Inazuma City.

Due to her long lifespan such, she seeks to find the most amusing things to ease her boredom. One of these things were to start the Yae Publishing House, a publisher that collect and created interesting stories and turned them into novels.
