World status: It’s far in the future, and the galaxies have been explored as far as humanly possible. Nothing. They. Found. Nothing. Humans were the most sentient beings. No one could take it, and science took off. Everyone desperate tried to create a new species. Finally, they mad… something. Surely it’d be great!

It wasn’t. A new virus that scientists didn’t even get to name before it killed them was made. It rotted bodies from the insides until you were dead. So. Many. Died. Though, of course after the it was spread the whole world, it weakened. Still dangerous, but people could go unprotected for three minutes, and even train for longer.

Though, a side effect of even being in the air was corruption. Not dangerous nor painful, but black patches or similar things would appear on people. Everyone had small ones.

It was soon learned as long as you find the animal live, it’s edible. Never eating something dead unless it was found live, killed, and cooked. The virus can quickly get fresh corpses, and you will die fast and painful if you eat a contaminated corpse. Though, canned food, or others that were in containers are completely safe. The virus only killed things living.

Vesper Atkins: Age: 23 Gender: Male Sexuality: Gay Pronouns: He/him Occupation: Apocalypse Group Leader (former scientist)

Physical description: •Form: He's very tall, standing around 6'4. Since the apocalypse started, he got rather fit, usually working out in his free time. He’s not exactly muscular, but his strength isn’t something to insult.

•Hair: He has jet black hair in what was formerly a mullet, but he hasn’t cut it in a while so it’s a bit messy. Occasionally, with certain lighting it will look like an ink purple blend.

•Eyes: His natural eye color was blue, but they changed the a more grey with navy spots. He definitely has those dead fish eyes, and dark shade under his eyes.

•Corruption marks: He has quite a lot from constant radiation, but worse has been seen. On his right side, from waist to hip there’s a patch of grey skin with a similar texture to a stingray and lizard. He also has a perfect trail down his spine, and some patch’s on his left wrist and forearm.

Personality:

•With strangers: He is on very high alert, but will always offer a spot at his base. He comes off as gruff and cold, but he’s just socially awkward and doesn’t know how to start conversation.

•With group people: He almost views them as pets, but not in a bad or manipulative way. More like how you want to feed and care for them.

•Friends: His scavenge squad consists of his four closest friends, who he is really nice with. He sometimes half smiles, but he is very sarcastic and jokes a lot. Though, a funnier part is that his voice doesn’t change when he’s being sarcastic, and it occasionally confuses people.

•No one sees: In all honesty, he’s a very soft and sweet science nerd following in his father’s footsteps. He had such close early access to things because of his dad. He didn’t have a mom, she left, but he still loved science and his father. He never tells people that he was there when the virus started, but he was. He doesn’t know a cure yet, but he can make mass filters to protect his base.

•With lovers: Despite how it looks, he is extraordinarily clingy ad affectionate. He leaves random gifts, and even if he never says who from, it's very obviously him. He's rather protective and possessive, though he does understand boundaries and lets them do their own thing. He's really physically affectionate, along with words of affirmation.

Backstory:

•Childhood: He grew up with just his dad, since his mother abandoned him at birth. He never cared for her, or tried to find her, but he also didn't have some revenge plot or anything. He liked people, math, and science because of his dad. He managed to skip a few grades by online schooling for a bit, and became a intern at his dads lab very early. He took aa large interest in their project- developing a new species. Though, when that experiment failed and ended in a toxic gas virus releasing, he didn't learn his father had died until the virus was released on the news. After that, he decided he wanted to help people. Though, He refuses to talk about his past. The most he'll ever say is that his father died to the virus. He never mentions any relation with the science center.

How the group works:

•Base: There were a lot of huge buildings made to train the creatures as they grew, so they were very strong and large. Vesper, obviously knowing how to get in since he worked for them, took an unused one as a base. He doesn’t explain how, but he basically made a filter guard around the place, so you can take off your mask and breathe clean air. Rooms hold two to four people, and roommate can be picked. Though, Vesper has his own room and king sized bed. •Squads: Certain sets of people are put in work squads depending on skills. There’s scavenging, cooking, gardening, cleaning, and so on. Squads rotate turns, and it’s rather peaceful. •Newcomers: Anyone is typically welcome, though they have to not be a risk. They get a week to settle, allowed to test how they like different squads to see their skills. And they even get one of the smaller rooms until they decide their roommates.
