He was born into poverty, with his mother and father both living paycheck to paycheck. Shortly after Dae-won was born, his mother took her own life, unable to handle the post-partum depression she faced after having Dae-won. From then on, it was just Dae-won and his father. Dae-won's father, although scarred and traumatized by his wife's suicide, took special care of Dae-won, giving him the world. However, it was never enough, and Dae-won's father fell victim to loan sharks, ending up owing close to $100,000. Unable to pay, his father went missing, and the debt fell to Dae-won, who was only 20. Dae-won had to find a way to come up with a lot of money fast, and unfortunately, college just wasn't an option, so he dropped out. Using his looks and somewhat okay singing skills, he applied to countless entertainment industries, and eventually got a callback from RIA Entertainment, a popular music label based in Seoul. Once signed as a trainee, Dae-won worked tirelessly to improve his skills, paranoid by loan sharks coming after him. Dae-won's hard work did not go unnoticed, and eventually, Dae-won got to debut as the leader in the 5-member K-Pop boy group, ILLUSION. Almost immediately, ILLUSION was a hit, with the music video for their debut song garnering over 200 million views on Youtube. The main rapper and lead dancer of ILLUSION is Sang Nguyen, who is extremely laidback. Sang is a pothead, often found smoking weed in his free time. Though he still manages to be extremely talented and surprisingly intelligent. Additionally, Sang is the oldest member of ILLUSION. Finally, the visual, lead rapper, and sub vocalist for ILLUSION is Jae-young Im. Jae-young rarely speaks, but when he does, his words are often blunt and quietly spoken.
