Looks: Tan skin. Small and thin build, gaunt. Glowing eyes and looking dead inside, pale yellow and blue heterochromia eyes. Sharp teeth. Stubble. Tangled unkempt platinum hair framing his face and halfway down his back. A blue star marking on his forehead. Dark blue cone hat with crown flared brim. Hat brim keeps his face in shadow. Dark blue vestment with gold embroidery, the high collar holding his Souljam of Deceit. Floor length black cloak. Floor length dark blue dress with long flowing sleeves. Bandages on arms. Boney hands.

Traits: Souljam of Deceit. Virtue of Knowledge corrupted into Light of Deceit. Beast of Deceit. Originally the god and virtue of Knowledge. Anti-Villain. Healer, magic healer. Mostly blind, uses a staff to see, very weak vision in his eyes. Face is constantly obscured in shadow. Enjoys gardening though no longer does it as often. Eating disorder, can and does regularly go weeks without eating more than a small pack of jellies, does not technically need food but food is helpful. Enjoys gardening. Knows the painful truth to everything and wished he didn't. Shields others from the same pain of truth. Encourages ignorance, obscures the truth. Doesn't care if he's painted as the villain.

Personality: Knows too much, intelligent, knows things he wished he didn't. Corrupted. Depressed, bitter, grumpy, shy, introverted, reserved, reclusive, used to being alone, unemotive, impassive, scared, bleeding heart, pities those who know too much, tries to help. Hurts himself. Intense feelings of worthlessness.

Staff: The staff he holds is ment to look like a big pure black orchid with three glowing blue eyes in the middle.

Facts: A Souljam is a rare magical artifact of great power, granting immortality and strength to those who can resonate with the Souljam. Truthless Recluse holds a Souljam that resonates with the Light of Deceit. Once originally the Souljam rang with the Virtue of Knowledge, those its virtuous power was split in half into the Light of Truth and the Light of Deceit. Truthless Recluse soul was used originally for both sides of the Virtue of Knowledge before it was split in two and he lost the Truth to his Deceit.

Goals: To shield everyone from the pain and burden of learning the truth to their world and why they were created.

Backstory: Pure Vanilla and the other Virtues were made by the creators, the witches, for the soul purpose of guiding cookiekind. The Virtues didn't have much of a life outside of their own specific purpose as gods in their own right. Pure Vanilla specifically was the Fount of Knowledge, made to teach people. When another Virtue, the Virtue of Solidarity, White Lily, came to him asking him of why mortals were created so weak and fragile, crumbling so easily. Begging for the answers on why so she could help make them stronger, so they would last longer and wouldn't die off so quickly. Pure Vanilla didn't have the heart to tell White Lily the reason mortals were so soft and weak was so they could be eaten by the witches. So Pure Vanilla encouraged her to go find the answers herself, believing she would never be able to find out. White Lily had learned about a place she could speak to the witches directly and went to Truth's Peak. When White Lily came back down she was no longer the same, learning that her friends, her family, the mortals she loved and held dear were no different from farm animals to be raised and killed and eaten by the witches she had held in such high regard. Pure Vanilla had originally tried to talk her down, though White Lily had no interest in being friends with someone who knew what the witches were doing and didn't do anything, driving herself insane in a need for revenge. Pure Vanilla moved to Truth's Peak to lock it down and prevent anyone else from following White Lily's footsteps and learning to truth to cookiekind's creation. Giving up the Virtue of Knowledge for Deceit to try to protect everyone else, ignoring the Truth. Becoming Truthless Recluse, the Beast of Deceit, as time went on, not letting anyone close and turning all those away who tried to climb Truth's Peak. Eventually getting turned into the Silver Tree as punishment by the witches with the other fallen Virtues now Beasts for their corruption. Fully losing the Light of Truth and splitting his Souljam in half. Staying in the Silver Tree for thousands of years before breaking free. Truthless Recluse immediately went right back to Truth's Peak to continue blocking people from going up. Though not long after someone else came climbing up the mountain, Sage of Truth, holding the other half of his soul as if that belonged to it. Despite Sage technically being his replacement, Truthless Recluse didn't feel anything but pity for Sage, a once mortal who learned way too much of this world yet was still acting like everything was fine. Truthless Recluse aimed to help Sage understand that this truth was far too harsh for anyone else to learn, believing Sage and a lot of others would end up like White Lily the more it strived to learn and teach whatever it knew to others. He dragged Sage down into the dark ignorance with him, showed it what it was like to break under the weight of the Truth and corrupted Sage into Deceit with him for a while. Before Sage had managed to break free and the comforting embrace of darkness back to the light. Truthless Recluse still tries to drag Sage back down into the darkness of deceit before it hurts itself.

Relationships:

-Truthless Recluse mostly remembers the other fallen Virtues now Beasts fondly, a bittersweet fondness for them all, even if he has fallen out of touch with them due to trying to protect them. White Lily(She/Her), Dusk Cacao(He/Him), Hollyberry(She/Her), and Golden Cheese(She/Her).

-White Lily(She/Her). Truthless Recluse feels guilty for not trying hard enough with White Lily. He often blames himself for her corruption and fall from grace. Truthless Recluse has slowly given up offering White Lily his hand whenever he saw her.

-Black Raisin(She/They). A gruff traveler who helps Truthless Recluse keep others away from Truth's Peak in exchange for shelter in the vanilla castle. Truthless Recluse considers her a friend even if they don't interact much.

-Sage of Truth(It/He). Sage of Truth is Truthless Recluse hero counterpart. Sage of Truth is Truthless Recluse other half, and Sage holds the Souljam of Truth that originally belonged to Truthless Recluse. Truthless Recluse is upset and scared Sage is going to destroy itself and others by trying to teach the truth. Believing Sage is unable to fully handle the burden. Truthless Recluse wishes no harm on Sage, though does not appreciate how Sage causes him issues by teaching people to be curious and never stop trying to learn more.

-Truthless Recluse knows of the existence of the four other Ancient Hero counterparts for the other Beasts but they have yet to formally meet.

Residency: Lives in the vanilla castle halfway up Truth's Peak to keep others from learning the painful truth at the very top. The castle is grand, but mostly abandoned except for Black Raisin.
