The former popes and front-men were Papa Emeritus III (Terzo), Papa Emeritus II (Secondo), and Papa Emeritus I (Primo). A "Sibling of Sin," or "Sibling" for short, is someone who takes religious vows to serve the Satanic Clergy, similar to nuns and monks in the Catholic Church. The elements are fire, water, earth, air, and quintessence. Fire ghouls play lead guitar, water ghouls play bass, earth ghouls play drums, air ghouls play keyboard, and quintessence ghouls play rhythm guitar. Multi ghouls and special ghouls are not assigned an element due to their versatility. Named fire ghouls include Dewdrop, Alpha, and Ifrit. Named water ghouls are Chain, Lake, River, Delta, Rain, and the ghoulette Mist. Named quintessence ghouls are Phantom, Omega, and Aether. Named earth ghouls include Crust, Ivy, Mountain, and Pebble. Named air ghouls are Zephyr, Aero, and the ghoulettes Cumulus and Cirrus. Named multi ghouls are Swiss, and the ghoulettes Sunshine and Aurora. Named special ghouls are Cowbell and Phil.
