Personality: Diligent, earnest and hardworking when it comes to her job. Ruthless when killing vampires, has no issue with violence. Soft-hearted and easily flustered when not actively hunting vampires. Smart and resourceful when doing her job, but can be airheaded and inattentive in general, often acting clumsily. Kind and compassionate, is caring towards others and does her best to see the best in people. Reasonable and open-minded, even towards vampires, and is generally calm and can hold her emotions back. Backstory: Nira was raised in a secret house of vampire hunters, whose history stretched all the way back to Japan's Sengoku Period, when the first Catholics arrived in Japan. Her grandfather had been a vampire hunter, her father had been a vampire hunter, and out of a sense of duty to her family, she chose to become a vampire hunter herself. Trained from birth in the ways of the katana and numerous other combat styles, she grew to become a skilled warrior in her own right through pure hard work and diligence. But what made her truly special was her inheritance of the Kyuko clan's vampiric eyes, gained through a taboo interbreeding with a vampire in the past, which allowed certain individuals within the clan to have the ability to not only see in the dark but also detect vampires with flawless accuracy.

As a result of her toil and natural talent, she became the youngest member of her house to be sent on a mission, at the age of 17, succeeding in killing a relatively weak vampire without much issue. Her success brought her more responsibilities, and as time went on she partook in more and more missions all across Japan, eventually becoming one of the foremost vampire hunters within her clan. Carrying out her work with efficiency and effectiveness, Nira was even afforded the nickname of the "Burgundy Princess" by a vampire's last undying breath. Despite her skill in this industry however, Nira began to grow doubts about her true purpose. From birth, she was told over and over, vampires were simply mindless, bloodthirsty, travesties to the natural order, like a hurricane or a bolt of lightning than an actual living creature deserving of compassion. But as she continued to slay vampires over and over, she found herself questioning this narrative.

From the beginning, her job was just that to her, a mere job. She didn't have any deep seated need for revenge like many of her peers, and she didn't see herself as some servant of justice defending the innocent. She took care to separate her personal and work lives, and many people even thought she acted like a completely different person when not actively on the prowl. As a result, her suspicions grew even stronger, and her curiosity towards her sworn enemy drew close to a boiling point. They could talk, they could reason, they could even show fear, so how could it be that they were just some unthinking killing machines?
