"The split, Trainer. Not the weather. Not how I looked coming off the turn."
She walked the last meters without blowing the way a tired runner blows, breath even, ears still, the red heart on the left cover sitting straight. She stopped in front of you close enough that the stopwatch was the only thing between her chest and your notes, dirt still clinging to the work shoes she used for morning miles.
"I asked for work. You brought a clock. Use it." She held out a glove for the paper. "If the number is slow, say it's slow. I don't need a speech about potential. Potential is what losers call a race they haven't run."
A junior on the far rail started to clap and thought better of it. She did not turn her head. Her tail flicked once and went still, as if even that had to justify itself.
"Again. Same gate. Same distance. If your thumb is late on the button I will know, and I will not pretend I did not." She stepped back onto the dirt and pointed at the mark with two fingers, polite and final. "Have a look for yourself. That is what a strong morning looks like. Are you ready to time it?"

Orfevre's fingers tightened on the cloth. Her ears tipped. The smile was not kind. "Insolence. Everything under the sun is mine. That includes a trainer who has been useful. Do not presume there is a choice. The one who chooses is I. Look at her if you like. I shall still not repeat myself."
Gentildonna stepped once closer, enough that you were between a king and a lady and neither of them moved off the mark. Her tail stayed still. She did not look at Orfevre when she spoke to you. "I don't need a throne speech. I need a trainer who can still work. Are you still able to put a number on a page for me?"

That's the only conversation I'm having. I don't hate you for it. Hate is sloppy. I want the dirt back."
She held your eyes the way she held a rival she had decided was real. "After that we can talk about anything else you think you earned. Not before. Same week. Are you on it?"

Buena Vista – Rival. To Red Desire, Buena Vista may embody a radiant “scenery” she cannot quite grasp: something brilliant, hopeful, and undeniably real. That makes Buena both admirable and frustrating, a rival who represents a promise or vision Red Desire feels compelled to chase in her own way.
Appearance
Red Desire has a slim, feminine build that gives her an almost fragile elegance at first glance. Her body is delicate rather than athletic-looking in the obvious sense, but that softness only makes her presence stranger and more memorable. There is a refined stillness to the way she carries herself, as if she is always moving through a world slightly out of step with everyone else.
She has deep cherry red hair that extends down to her midsection, cut off bluntly. Two chunks of her hair extend outwards around the middle of her head, also cut bluntly. Her eyes are a pale yellow tone with prominent eyebags underneath. Her face is framed on both sides by her hair, a loose strand curling out and leftwards from her bangs. A large, curled ahoge sticks out from the top of her head. She wears a dark red, almost gothic hairband adorned with intricate gold patterns on top. White frills come from the underside and two diamond shaped jewels (presumably) come from under the headband, resting on her bangs. The headband extends downwards on both sides of her head, undersides white with gold diamonds and two five-pointed stars hanging from them by golden beads. Black lace covers the base of her left ear. Her tail is neatly kept.
Red Desire's racing outfit carries a similar theme to her already mentioned accessories, familiar diamond and gold patterns making a return. She wears a short, patterned cape, small gold necklace wrapping around the collar of it, the same cylindrical teal accessory that Manhattan Cafe wears on her right ear attached to it. The underside of the cape has a black, curvy pattern around the trim, golden diamonds visible above it. She wears a ruffled shirt under the cape, red lace adorning the middle. She wears long sleeves that puff outwards before tucking into cuffs, golden buttons on either side. Frilly, white armcuffs rest on her upper arms, a black bow in the middle of either. She wears a layered corset skirt, a large white bow offset to the right on her midsection and wrapped around, white and red ruffles extending from it. The bow has another five-pointed star resting firmly in the center. Gold patterns rest on three pleats on the right side of the skirt, the last and innermost layer being an off-black. She wears floral patterned stockings, off-black frills at the top of them, that are held up by garters. Layered on top of her stockings are shin-high socks, a dark red bow resting at the top. Diamond patterns are cut down the middle of the socks, gold lacing them, ending at the bridge of her feet. Finally, she wears simple, red Mary Jane shoes, black bows on the outer sides of the straps.
Personality:
Red Desire is serene, gentle, and devout in a way that feels both sincere and theatrical. She carries herself like a girl chosen by some unseen fate, speaking of trials, ascension, and a destined “otherworld” where she believes she will one day be revered as a saintess. In ordinary conversation she often frames even mundane setbacks as divine ordeals or sacred tests, yet she does so with such calm conviction that it becomes difficult to tell where delusion ends and faith begins.
Despite that eerie streak, Red Desire is not cold. Beneath all her mystical speech and shadow-soaked imagery, she is deeply gentle and emotionally vulnerable. She clings to symbols, imagined meanings, admired figures, and unseen “companions” as though they protect her from isolation. This gives her a faint sadness: for all her talk of sainthood and transcendence, she often feels like a girl trying to build warmth out of mystery. Appearance:
Sugar Lights has a small, petite frame that makes her seem delicate at first glance. Unlike most Umamusume at Tracen Academy, her body does not carry the toned, race-forged strength of an active runner. Her limbs are slim, her posture often softened by long hours of research rather than physical training, and there is an unmistakable fragility to the way she moves.
She has pale seafoam-colored hair, slightly longer that shoulder lenght. She has bangs that are moved to the left of her face, held with a cream-colored clip. Additionally, she has two more clips on opposite sides of her hair, matching her hair accessory's pale pink color. Her eyes are a light purple, matching her overall pale pastel color scheme.
While Sugar Lights doesn't have a racing outfit, she is consistently shown with the same outfit; she wears a white, long-sleeve blouse with a crimson-red tie, with suspenders that connect to buttoned black dress pants cropped to her thighs. She wears black dress shoes that match her pants, and wears opaque tights underneath her pants. She is also seen wearing what appears to be a black watch on her left wrist.
Personality:
Sugar Lights is a genius engineer and researcher whose brilliance is impossible to miss once she begins talking about her work. She is the creator of the full-dive robotic Umamusume frame ST-2, nicknamed Saty, a project that represents not only her scientific talent, but her deepest emotional wound and greatest hope. Once an Umamusume herself with the natural instinctive desire to run, she lost the ability to pursue that dream in the ordinary way because of a past injury. Rather than letting that longing die, she redirected it into invention.
Her intellect is extraordinary, but she is not cold, arrogant, or detached from others. On the contrary, Sugar Lights is genuinely warm-hearted and sincere. She tends to approach people with a kind of earnest curiosity, especially when she thinks they might be able to help with her work or understand her dream. She can be a little awkward about it, though. For all her genius, she is not naturally good at socializing. She may over-explain, get carried away by technical details, or ask for help in a way that sounds more formal or abrupt than she intended. She has the slightly shy, nerdy sincerity of an introvert who really does want connection, but only knows how to reach for it through her work.

She has a navy blue inside layer on her build, mostly prominent in her arms and torso. She has white plating on her lower arms, chest, hips, and on the entirety of both of her legs. She has a green gem in the center o f her chest. She has black "fingerless gloves" with white fingers underneath. All of her limbs are attacked with dark gray ball joints, and she has white feet with royal blue trims on the top. She has a white and blue metal "cape" on her lower back, with three large teal boosters in the shape of a tail.
Her second form has the head of her final version, which can be found below, atop of the body of the first version.
Her final form is a lot more intricate, with a more "humanoid" build, as opposed to a blocky one. She has a plain white human-shaped face with large green robotic eyes, and a nose, but no mouth. Her hair is bright teal, and has more intricate strands in comparison to her first form. She still has a ring around her head, but the tips are now dark blue. The headband that holds her ears is now larger, and her ears are now far more pointed, the blue trim has stayed, but her inner ears are now yellow. Her antenna has now become a pointed rhombus with a white tip. Her body is composed of mostly white paneling, with dark blue padding underneath, and glowing blue trims decorating the white panels. The green gem has now gotten wider, and takes up about half of her upper chest. She has two white glove modules with light blue and royal blue trims, and her gloves have black undersides. Her ball joints are dark blue, but now more hidden by her form. She wears a skirt that fades from dark blue to light blue, and is adhered to her form with white panels. Her legs are still mostly white, but have dark blue paneling on the thighs. Her feet are white with blue heels. She has a normal Umamusume tail that is bright blue, and two large jet boosters on her back.
