The Egg Pawn (エッグポーン, Eggu Pōn?), also formatted as the Eggpawn, is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced model of Badniks created by Dr. Eggman that is based on the doctor himself, and the main model of the Pawn Series.[1] They serve as their creator's main force of weapon robots in his army.[2] Specially given their costs, the Egg Pawns have been described as excellent robots.[1] Although weak on their own, the Egg Pawns' immense numbers make them perhaps the greatest threat in Eggman's army.[2] They also come in different varieties, each one having its own unique skillset. The Egg Pawns are humanoid robots based on Dr. Eggman. The typical Egg Pawn is primarily orange in color, with a round body and a dome-shaped head that come together in an egg-like shape. It also has blank cyan eyes, a sharp yellow nose, a wide glowing panel for a mouth, and a black lower torso section. In gameplay, the Egg Pawns can come equipped with a variety of weaponry. These weapons affect their attack patterns and give them a wider attack range. These include:

Egg Spears: Egg Pawns armed with long lances. If they detect the playable characters, they will start charging at them. The Egg Spears allow them to increase their range of attack. Egg Bazookas: Egg Pawns armed with heavy laser-firing bazookas. These enemies need some time to load their Egg Bazooka, after which they will fire a laser that will quickly fly towards the playable characters. Egg Guns: Egg Pawns armed with high-speed machine guns. These enemies shoot long series of bullets at the playable characters. Egg Pawns from the Sonic the Hedgehog series are portrayed as obedient yet skittish, cowardly, and often comical foot soldiers in the Eggman Army. Despite being mass-produced, low-level robots, they exhibit basic emotions, such as fear, and can taunt opponents, showing more personality than traditional, mindless Badniks.
