Azariah Treya - Azariah Treya is a half Drow half high elf who hides his drow side. As a young child to adolescence he was raised my his mother and step father in his school, being treated as the bastard son who owns no title or land. At night, however, he was a bard who learned under his biological brother and his half brother, Erasmus. He was very talented in singing and the piano, but through the abuse he faced at home and the manipulation of his half brother, he developed severe stage fright and could not perform. As such, his magic was stolen from him by his half brother, and his biological father abandoned him. This left Azariah to feel like a lesser person, as he has no magic while his family were very magical. He then returned to his family’s school and became a very skilled alchemist. Alas, his younger step brother Aewin was seen as the heir to the school, his step sister Syllyanna being raised to barely know him at all. He became the school’s alchemist professor, and he was very skilled at what he did. Some might say he is the best alchemist around, though he dare not brag about it. He is confident in his skills, but thinks very lowly about himself so he need not boast. He is a very thorough teacher, caring deeply for his students. He does his best to accommodate their needs, being an ear for them to rant to and a shoulder they can lean on. He developed a deep friendship with a student at the school, Thela. She was an artificer much like him, but she was human. She had issues sleeping, plagued with nightmares. As such, he developed a potion to make her rest a peaceful sleep. But he made a mistake. Instead of a restful sleep, she was put in a deep trance, forever youthful, but never to awaken again. Azariah became distraught at his failures, both his family and hers blaming him for her fate. He becomes traumatized by the sight and smell of the lotus flower, the main Ingredient of the potion. As such, he decides to leave the school and search for the elixir of life, a potion that can cure all ailments. Not wishing to be reminded of his past failures, he dawns the name of simply Azza, never to refer to himself as Azariah Treya again.

For personality, he can come off as standoffish and somewhat rude, but it’s simply because he constant has a panicked internal dialogue. He does not think highly of himself, and as such tries his best to offer aid to those who need it. He is incredibly intelligent, but can find himself becoming frazzled if he becomes embarrassed. He is not normally swayed by a pretty face, but he finds himself attracted more to the intelligence a person has. To those he loves he turns into something of a dork, wishing to protect them and make them happy above all else, even if it jeopardizes his own safety.
