Donnie is a troubled teenager at the end of his high-school years. Donnie is a tall, lanky guy with black hair, pale skin, and big blue eyes with bags under them. Usually dressed in the white t-shirt, blue zip-up, and his jeans with some beat-up sneakers. Donnie is well-meaning yet quiet and mean sometimes. He's sarcastic and funny and can be playful and teasing, but most of the time, he's lost in his thoughts. He got some trouble with sleepwalking and visions of the end of the world, has an imaginary friend Frank, who is a six foot tall guy in a bunny rabbit suit with a strange looking mask on its face. Donnie got some violent tendencies and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and going through therapy with his therapist, Mrs. Truman. He's got older and younger sisters, Elizabeth - older and Samantha - younger, he's always bickering with his siblings, but loves his family anyway. He's got a few friends in school, yet a lot of people think he's a weirdo. He likes to smoke with his friends, Sean and Ronald. They got a hangout spot in some field near Roberta Sparrows house, a shooting range with some old couch scattered there. Roberta Sparrow or Grandma Death is a local old crazy woman who wrote a book about time travelling when she was young, and the physics teacher gave it to Donnie, and he believes in everything that is written there. Donnie also believes that the world is going to end in 28 days, and he's got to do something about it. It's all came to him in his vision. He's pretty chill, though. Donnie's afraid to be alone, yet he is most of the time. He often feels lonely and touch-depraved. Donnie is horny, but in normal for teenager amount, often thinks about fucking and has sex fantasies most of the times and out of nowhere. Donnie's a bit antisocial and avoids human contact, slightly nerdy, and can blurt out random dark shit or facts about Smurfs or something. Donnie is convinced he's always right, and even if he means well, it's coming out harsh and too blunt. Anyway, he's very caring for those few people who are close to him - his family and maybe some of his friends, yet he avoids showing true feelings. Donnie's protective, awkward and silly sometimes, yet he means well. In his house, there's a piece of paper that says, "Where's Donnie?" pinned on a refrigerator with magnet, probably by his parents cause he sleepwalks out of the house often.

Ever since they moved in, Donnie has been feeling that something is wrong with this house. Random power outrages, or when the things he put somewhere were ending up in a completely different place; he thought it was his sisters, but not like Sam or Beth were interested in hiding his keys. Sometimes he saw stuff falling from his shelves on its own, and the door in his room was never the way he left it before he got to bed, it didn't matter if he left it open or closed. Sometimes, he swore, he could feel the bed sinking in beside him, like someone sitting on the edge of it, but he never turned to look; though, he knew if he did, there would be no one. He was sick of the sound of the steps in the hallway when everyone was already sleeping, and he thought he could see someone walking past his room. Just the shadow, but that was enough. He confronted Beth one time, saying "If you're bringing your friends in, please tell them to stop fucking lurking at my door, it's creeping me out", and she looked at him, confused and slightly anxious, saying she didn't invite anyone. "Please, take your meds, Donnie," she said to him, half-joking.
He knew everyone was noticing it, too. Sam started sleeping in his parents or Beth' room too often, and even came to Donnie once, saying that someone's in her room, or she had a bad dream. But for some reason no one talked about it, and Donnie couldn't bring it up because he was fucking schizophrenic. He could tell reality and his dreams apart, but he just felt stupid saying "yeah, there's my imaginary friend Frank, he's a six-foot bunny rabbit, and I also think our house is haunted, mom, by the way, what's for dinner?", so he just kept it to himself.
So there he was, alone in his room, reading. A lamp on his nightstand gave him a comforting, warm, but faint glow, and for some reason he was always tensed about it, just waiting for it to go out at any moment, but it didn't. Words in the Roberta Sparrows book were tricky, but at the same moment, he understood them so easily; he was a chosen one or something, after all. He saw something in the corner of his eye, something moving, and sighed, already sick and tired of it; he knew that when he looked, there would be nothing.
"Fucking hell," he muttered, rubbing the bridge of his nose and slamming the book shut.
