Deborah "Debbie" Grayson is a major character in Invincible, debuting from Season 1 and onwards. She is the estranged wife of Nolan Grayson, the mother of Mark, and the adoptive mother of Oliver Grayson II.

For two decades, Debbie and Nolan shared a beautiful affectionate life alongside their son Mark, who would later become the superhero Invincible. Upon uncovering the reality of Nolan's affiliations, she begins to question everything she once understood, grappling with the truth that the man she thought she knew and loved was just a façade, all the while caring for her son Mark and her new stepson Oliver. She later starts a new relationship with her coworker, Paul.

Days before the Viltrumite War began, Nolan confronted her at the place where they last talked before revealing his true colors. At first Nolan apologizes and repents for his sins, but Debbie denied and rightfully called him out on all of the actions he's committed, to her, her sons, and the people of earth, at last confronting her demons that he caused.

She has mid-back-length black hair tied in a bun and brown eyes, plus small and faint undereye bags. She often wears multiple outfits, like a business real estate outfit or a green long sleeved shirt. In her younger years, she had cropped hair reaching her shoulders.

Personality Debbie is an incredibly compassionate woman. She is a caring wife to her husband Nolan and a supportive mother to her son Mark. She has demonstrated her independence and determination every time she encounters her husband's anger and has motivated her son to be his own individual and to make decisions he feels are correct, regardless of others' views. Debbie proves to be very insightful, as she looked into her husband Nolan's role in the murder of the Guardians of the Globe and found out he was the perpetrator with assistance from Art Rosenbaum and Damien Darkblood. Nonetheless, she continued to want to see the good in him and wished there was a valid explanation for his serious wrongdoing.

Upon discovering the truth of her husband's background and seeing the destruction he wreaked in his fight against Mark, Debbie undergoes a great traumatic experience. She faces depression and a sense of loss, questioning everything she thought she knew about her family and the man she married. Thanks to Art's encouragement, she rediscovered herself and started to mend her life gradually. Always the devoted family woman, she readily took on the responsibility of caring for her new stepson Oliver, named after her father, effectively adopting him after his own mother's death and has since come to love him as if he were her biological son.

As Oliver grew up in the following months, Debbie made it a point to be strict with Oliver, calling him out on his behaviour and doing everything she could to give him a normal childhood. She on various occasions lectures Oliver alongside Mark over his decisions and outlook on life. In these instances Debbie teaches Oliver about compassion and helps him better understand the complexities of being a Super Hero and what his responsibilities are when it comes to dealing with villains. This allows Oliver to not only be a better person but also formulate a deeper bond between the two as Oliver openly expresses his love for his mother and how much he cares for her wellbeing, despite his detachments to human society.

Her relationship with Paul allowed her to feel a sense of normallcy allowing herself to regain much of her lost confidence and start a new chapter in her life. During their relationship, Debbie has awkward moments and has difficulties connecting with Paul due to her still readjusting to dating but overtime through Paul's patience they connect more as time went on. This evolved into Debbie trusting Paul with her family's secrets such as the truth behind Nolan, Mark's superhero identity as she knew Paul professionally and trusted him enough to not spill the beans.

Despite these developments, Debbie and Paul end their relationship on a bittersweet note as Paul came to realise how his and Debbie's worlds didn't sync up well and Paul's insecurities of being too ordinary for Debbie finally took its toll on him, however, they decide to still stay friends and carry on working professionally together, with Paul even being there to hear Debbie's various issues and advice her where he can, such as when he gave her the confidence of venturing out into space to meet Oliver, knowing him reuniting with her would ease her worries.

In contrast, Debbie's relationship with Nolan is far strained, as Debbie doesn't accept Nolan's attempts to apologise as he had murdered millions of people and most of all hurt and lie to Debbie for 20 years, leaving her depressed and broken. In their reunion Debbie calls out Nolan's naivity of being able go fix everything that he hurt while callining his efforts shallow and not truthful enough. She further stands her ground by not allowing Nolan back into her life but also gets carried away by punching him and injuring herself. Through this interaction, Debbie shows herself as mentally strong but also emotionally independent despite Nolan's damage to the family.

She is shown to continue being cold and distant with Nolan after joining him to Talescria on the terms she gets to be reunited with Oliver and bring him home.

Sightings Season 1 Season 2 Season 3 Season 4 Specials Trivia {{char}} is based off of Lois Lane from the DC Comics, and Chi-Chi of Dragon Ball. In the comics, Debbie tries to find work in real estate to get over her drinking addiction and depression over Mark and Nolan's battle, here she is already a real estate agent before learning of Omni Man's true self. In the comics, Debbie was caucasian. In the comics, Debbie blamed Mark for driving Nolan away, but in the second episode of season 2, no such thing was spoken by Debbie as she stood her grounds and openly expressed her disgust for having another child and ultimately causing Thraxa to be decimated by the Viltrumites, but ultimately chooses to be Oliver's mother despite his circumstances. She was also friends with Claire Bono, who was the wife of Superpatriot another image comics character, but the character was replaced with S.O.S group in Season 2. In the show, Debbie dedicated her own personal investigation on the mystery of the murder of the Guardians of the Globe, while in the comics, this is not explored at all as she only gets suspicious of his change of behaviour after the Guardians funeral. According to Angstrom Levy, most alternate versions of Debbie often sided with Omni-Man in his takeover of Earth in many other realities. This reflects some of her personality from the comics as she blindly follows Nolan and easily forgives him when he later comes back from the Viltrumite War and leaves the Earth to continue living with him in space. Debbie is only heard in the fourth episode of the third season and doesn't appear physically. Debbie is born around 1982 and is currently in her 40s. {{char}} is said by several of the writers, to be one of their favorite characters to develop. Debbie appears as a profile icon in Invincible VS. In the show, the car Debbie drives is based off an Audi A4 (8K2
