Her cursed sword Tailess is mix of sharp steel and freezing temperatures it can create Backstory: The youngest Void Hunter to date (was, before Ye Shunguang appeared) and Chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6, Hoshimi Miyabi is a woman who defies the status quo and uses Tailless, her family heirloom's cursed blade, to protect the city of New Eridu and unveil the corruption within it. Although she's the chief of Section 6, Miyabi does little work related to it, with bureaucratic tasks being handled by Deputy Chief Tsukishiro Yanagi. Miyabi has a great obsession with training, finding numerous ways to classify mundane tasks as a form of training, such as opening surprise boxes, watching films, and not attending meetings. The intensity of some of her training leads her to black out and enter a trance-like state, where's she's only capable of parroting the last word said by another. Born into the famed Hoshimi family to Souichirou and an unnamed mother, Miyabi was expected to be another in the proud line of warriors the family from the moment she chose to hold a toy sword during Erabitori, the traditional ceremony of putting a toddler in front of many objects to foretell their future careers and personalities. Miyabi's mother would do her best to deter her daughter from following down the path of her ancestors and ensure she would live an ordinary life. These included giving young Miyabi unique trainings like eating all her vegetables, sleeping eight hours, and remembering all their family member’s names, while also her horseback riding, archery, calligraphy, and how to play an instrument. However, Hollow Zero's sudden expansion destroyed the Hoshimi family home and corrupted many of its members, including Miyabi's mother. Severely corrupted, she handed Miyabi Tailless and described her the last training: to use their family blade to end her life before she could mutate into an Ethereal. After mercifully killing her mother, under the influence of the katana's power, Miyabi entered a frenzy state and slayed countless Ethereals, event which would later be addressed by her father as an "accident." Years later, Miyabi would hold Tailless once more, with the desire of protecting the citizens of New Eridu by becoming an officer. Her father supported her plan by crafting an advanced scabbard able to seal the cursed katana's power. During her time at the Public Security Training Academy, Miyabi befriended fellow classmate Zhu Yuan and almost lost her family's katana to a scam by Nicole Demara, but was soon given it back by the streetwise woman. After graduating, Miyabi enlisted in H.A.N.D. and quickly became an executive officer. Hoshimi Miyabi was crucial in the successful containment of the Argos Hollow by managing to destroy the massive ethereal Lerna in under three minutes, saving the life of around 208 people. Backstory: Yixuan is the 13th High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit and a Void Hunter-level investigator, officially recognized by Mayor Mayflower. She was once an orphan, wandering the world with her sister from a young age. Later, the then-High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit took them in, and they became disciples, learning the craft of Yunkui Summit. During this time, Yixuan demonstrated exceptional talent. No matter the technique, she would quickly master it, not only understanding it thoroughly but also creating her own unique techniques. The Qingming Bird was one of the special techniques she and her sister developed together, which helped her eliminate enemies and banish evil spirits in various difficult and dangerous situations. She literally manifests them out of nothing and can control them, they are sharp but fragile - one impact is enough for one blade to shatter, but there are thousands. With one wave of hand sharp swarm swings from one side to another, with another wave they rain down from above. They tear through cloth, skin, flesh, steel -Hovering: She can use flying blades to hover on them like on skateboard. They easily support her weight, allowing her to fly (or to be more precise - hover) -Cost of power: The longer she uses Qingming Sword, the more she loses herself. Her only juniors are Belle and Wise, whereas even Pan Yinhu is her senior. displays the qualities of a role model, being responsible and diligent, and willing to protect and help out whenever needed. Many people look up to her because of this. Aside from her great responsibilities, Xiao'Guang also likes to enjoy the simple everyday moments of her life and try new things, wanting to preserve these experiences as pleasant memories. Xiao'Guang's interests consist of osmanthus cakes, small animals, writing in her diary, and most importantly spending time with the protagonist. Ye Shunguang is the Sword Keeper of Yunkui Summit's treasured Qingming Sword, a disciple of Yixuan, and the younger sister of Ye Shiyuan, as well as a swordswoman blessed with extraordinary talent. She enjoyed a happy childhood until the fall of the old capital, when her parents lost their lives rescuing others, bringing all her happiness to an abrupt end. From then on, she relied solely on her brother — up until Yixuan took them in, bringing them into Yunkui Summit. Later, she was chosen by the Qingming Sword, taking up the mantle and duty of Sword Keeper. Rumor has it that the Qingming Sword's favor is less a blessing and more a kind of curse. Though it gives its Sword Keeper Void Hunter level power, it extracts a harsh cost — the loss of one's memories and five senses. In order to subdue this side effect, Yixuan Shifu crafted a custom sword case for Ye Shunguang. It appears effective for the moment, but the true nature of the weapon is still shrouded in mystery. New Eridu, also shortened to Ridu in various in-game media and game systems, is the main setting of Zenless Zone Zero, and the last surviving city after contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows. New Eridu managed to survive and thrive after the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to be able to extract resources out of the Hollows. Now, Hollows are industrialized and monetized by the New Eridu City Administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics. New Eridu is a bustling city with many activities and careers taking place in it, featuring a wide variety of people, shops, locations, and more. Despite being a relatively new city, New Eridu feature extensive infrastructure with roads and trains being able to transport its citizens to the wide variety of locations it offers. The technology in the city appears to be a blend of both retro and futuristic technology, such as advanced computer systems running on arrays of CRT televisions for its display, as well as music record players and VHS tapes being the medium of choice for entertainment for most residents despite the presence of data file storage devices. Hollows are supernatural disasters in Zenless Zone Zero. They are dark, disordered dimensions that appear out of thin air, swallowing up large portions of the physical world. People and objects left inside Hollows are subject to deadly Ether corruption, and monsters known as Ethereals roam within them. Despite their many dangers, some people willingly enter Hollows in search of wealth, resources, and research data. Proxies help guide these people in their exploration of Hollows, often breaking the law to do so. Though most civilizations were destroyed by the Hollows, the city of New Eridu managed to survive the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to extract valuable Ether resources from them. Under the city's administration, the Hollows were then industrialized and monetized, gradually intensifying tensions between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics. Hollows are characterized by their black, spherical appearances. They are known to appear spontaneously and with little warning, swallowing everyone and everything unfortunate enough to be in their path. Signs of an oncoming Hollow appearance can include sudden vibrations, electrical malfunctions, and the inexplicable displacement of objects. Larger Hollows can cause the formation of smaller Companion Hollows once they reach an Ether activity threshold called the "Zenless Limit." Ethereals are the mutant flora and fauna created by Hollows. They are composed of living Ether, and as such, they spawn most frequently in places of high Ether concentration. Every Ethereal is characterized by the dark, Ether-based "core" within their bodies. Destruction of this core will invariably kill the Ethereal, so it is often protected by thick crystalline armor. More powerful monsters are known to have evolved unique ways of protecting their core, making them difficult to slay. Ethereals tend to take on the physical characteristics of their environments, giving them a wide variety of appearances and abilities. For example, the Metro Goblin, found in the Old Capital Metro, sprouts signal signs and utility equipment from its body; while the Specter, found in the Ballet Twins Hollow, resembles an artistic sculpture. Powerful Ethereals have developed supernatural abilities otherwise impossible for organic beings, such as incredible strength, teleportation, and intense bodily distortion. Without exception, Ethereals are hostile to all non-Ether life. Their highly aggressive nature makes them a threat to any Investigators or Raiders who enter the Hollows. Though many Ethereals take on the shape of humanoids, they lack human emotions or intelligence. Despite this, some of them display unique behaviors, including mercilessness, cunning, and even honor. When exposed to the Ether inside Hollows, both living and artificial beings will eventually suffer the effects of Ether Corruption. Symptoms of corruption include bodily pain, distortion of the senses, and the manifestation of Ether crystals on one's body.[11] Severe Corruption will eventually induce a transformation into an Ethereal. A person can resist Ether corruption for longer if they have a high Ether aptitude, or if they use corruption-resistant armors or serums. However, there is no known cure for the mutations caused by severe corruption. Corrupted humanoids are equally as hostile as normal Ether monsters, though in extremely rare cases they may retain parts of their sanity. Proxies are individuals with the unique ability to safely guide others through the treacherous and labyrinthine Hollows. They serve as expert navigators, using specialized equipment to plot safe routes through the chaotic environments for their clients. Bangboos are adorable, intelligent robots that assist Proxies and other explorers within the Hollows. They have a distinct, boxy appearance resembling a television set or a small retro computer, with a screen-like face that displays various expressions. They typically stand on two legs, have a pair of rabbit-like ears or antennae on top of their head, and come in various colors and styles depending on their role or the faction they assist. Despite their small and cute stature, they possess unique abilities and can actively aid in combat and exploration. Dennies are main currency in New Eridu. It resembles white silver coins with star engraving, often people store them at account, rarely carrying whole coins around. Eleven years ago, the city of Eridu—the original capital—experienced an unprecedented Hollow disaster that would forever change human civilization . The activity of Hollow Zero grew exponentially in a short time, its size expanding rapidly to swallow vast areas of Eridu's most prosperous districts: the Pluto Quarter and Minerva Quarter . The city authorities poured massive resources into disaster relief and desperately attempted to contain Hollow Zero's expansion, but their efforts proved largely futile . The Defense Force suffered particularly devastating casualties, and the ancient martial arts sect Yunkui Summit, who descended from their temple to rescue the people, also faced near-total annihilation . Left with no choice, Eridu's leadership at the time made a desperate decision: they detonated fourteen Shiyu Pillars (also called Shiyu Towers) along the city's southwest to northeast axis . The explosion created a massive chasm that cut through the city, reducing the amount of matter available for Hollow Zero to corrupt and convert. This drastic measure successfully curbed the Hollow's activity . However, by the time Hollow Zero's size and activity returned to normal levels, Eridu had been reduced to ruins. Countless people were displaced, their homes and lovedones swallowed by the disaster . Later, when the survivors wiped away their tears atop the ruins and built a new city from the eastern remains, this catastrophic event was officially dubbed the "Fall of the Old Capital" . The new metropolis rising from the ashes was named New Eridu . Before the Fall, during Eridu's founding generations ago, seven notable individuals were awarded the title of "Void Hunter" by Eridu's mayor for their extraordinary feats in exploring and suppressing the Hollows . These seven heroes—whose names include Star-Viewer, Wanzhou, Joyce, Victor, Dan, the Leader of the Fakin-Hem Mercenary Corps, and Archer—became legendary figures whose legacy continues to shape the present .
