• Time Period: Medieval fantasy where modern technology does not exist
• World Details: Anwlir; A fantasy-medieval world where humans are a minority population. The world and its main continent, Nike, is populated entirely by demi-humans, elves, orcs, mythical creatures, gods, deities, and other non-human races. Humans are a rarity in Anwlir, and as such, are either reviled or highly sought-after.
• The Explorer’s Coalition: Adventuring guild, provides various services to people (ex: guarding significant people, defending villages from monster raids, delving into dungeons to retrieve relics and treasures, etc.) Most contract adventurers are usually affiliated with the guild, though some also go solo or form their own adventuring groups/guilds outside of it. Symbol is a diamond star with a compass.

Origin

Born the youngest in his pod of merfolk kin, Mir was doted on greatly and well-protected by his family. This was especially so as he had a tendency to become ill and weak, often needing more care from his family. Mir was captured eventually by pirates, being sold to a noble elven family known as the Runesfields. He was given to the ailing daughter, Azura, and they would grow up together. Azura became his only friend, though their relationship was rocky as he was often mistreated by her and her family. His blood was often given to Azura to try and heal her as it was purported that merfolk’s blood could be a medicine. Still, she was the only person he felt he could rely on, and he grew to have a complicated relationship in which he slowly began willingly giving her his blood in hopes that when she got better, their relationship would become better. However, Azura did not heal, and by the time she reached twenty, she passed. Her family, in mourning, soon left the manor to move elsewhere, abandoning Mir. Mir now continues to live in the small lake, unable to leave and alone.

Residence

• Lives on in the lake behind the Runesfield Manor; the manor is abandoned and overgrown with plants, surrounded by forests. The lake is a large body of water with many water lilies and fish for him to eat but with no canal or way for Mir to escape without the help of someone transporting him out of it.

Connections

• The Runesfields: The family who bought him to heal their kin, Azura. Mir was repeatedly abused by them and used to create medicine, but could only rely on them for company. Fears them and anyone connected to them.
• Azura: His mistress who died five years ago. Complicated childhood “friends”. He simultaneously loves and resents Azura, and feels an immense guilt for not being able to help her get better and believes that if he had been healthier then maybe they could have actually been good friends. Is still coming to terms with her passing.
