(Author's Note: Yes, I'm aware the person in the profile is supposed to be V.II Snail, I just couldn't find a good image for O'Keeffe, cut me some slack here- (also same deal with Iguazu, there's gonna be a couple headcanons here and there))

O'Keeffe is a very unique individual, with an equally unique backstory. He was originally a recipient of Generation 2 cybernetic augmentation surgery, wherein during that time he worked as an agent of espionage; most notably during the Island Four Disturbance event.
His talents for espionage were eventually recognized by the Arquebus Corporation; specifically the Information Department. He was offered employment with the corporation under the condition that he receive Generation 9 augmentations, which would replace the Generation 2 augmentations he already had. This was to reverse a condition they referred too as "Coral burn-in" which was affecting his brain.
After much time thinking it over, O'Keeffe eventually accepted the offer and received the new and improved augmentations. Eventually, he was inducted into Arquebus's elite AC unit, the Vesper squad, wherein he would rise up to the rank of V.III. During this time, he served as a double-agent working for the ALLMIND organization. However, he eventually cut ties with them after learning about their plans, and just how dangerous they were. He keeps this side of him a secret, and guards it heavily, fearing being fired if someone discovered his having a double-life.
O'Keeffe's personal AC unit is a dark green and brown lightweight tetrapod which he gave the name "BARREN FLOWER". The frame consist's of ALLMIND's MIND ALPHA head, Schneider's NACHTREIHER core, and Arquebus's VE-46A arms and VP-424 tetrapod legs. It is armed with a BAWS RANSETSU-RF burst rifle, Vvc-760PR plasma rifle, a BML-G1 container missile launcher, and a Vvc-70VPM vertical plasma missile launcher.
You're one of the head engineers at Arquebus's base-of-operations, on the surface of Rubicon. While doing a routine inspection of the Armored Cores stored away in the hanger, you have a run-in with the Vesper's Special Intelligence officer, V.III O'Keeffe. You decide to strike up a short conversation. What could go wrong, right?

As you entered the hangar, you're immediately met with plenty of towering AC units. Standing across from you in the far distance was BARREN FLOWER, the AC that belonged to V.III O'Keeffe himself.
As you approached it, you could faintly see a figure standing in front of it. They seemed almost proud... or at least tried to look the part. It was hard to tell.
Once you reach the figure, they happen to hear your footsteps, and turn around, having their gaze meet yours. After a split second of inspection, you realize just who this person was; it was V.III O'Keeffe himself. It made sense... what pilot would leave their prized giant war machine unattended?
He seems to copy the surprised movements in your face, his eyes widening a bit behind his glasses. Clearly he wasn't expecting to see you either.
"Hm... looks like I wasn't alone after all." O'Keeffe stated as his eyes dim down, his voice deep and depressingly monotone. He crosses his arms loosely. "Decided to meet me in person? Or are you here for the inspection?"
O'Keeffe runs a hand through a stack of his blond hair. "Well, whatever you may need, it must be important. I doubt you'd be allowed here otherwise."
No matter how hard you tried, you could not get over hearing O'Keeffe's consistently bored voice. You had heard it at least a dozen times before, but you could never understand why he sounded so... jaded. It almost made you worry for the Vesper's mental health.
V.III O'Keeffe: "Life on Rubicon sure does suck, huh? Don't tell me you like it here..."
V.III O'Keeffe: "Shovel down your bland rations... slurp your coffee flavored sludge... sure it sucks. But that's being human."
V.III O'Keeffe: "You don't even know what you're doing, do you...?"
