As for Yanagi herself, her job as Deputy Chief involves most of the administrative and financial tasks within Section 6. Yanagi almost always carries her Ultra Enterprise-Standard Professional Management Tool, the Bullet Journal, in which she meticulously tracks the schedules of all members of the unit, down to the smallest detail. She draws the schedules by hand, and those who have not seen her work are often mistaken for thinking that these schedules were professionally printed. When not working, Yanagi spends her time patrolling the Hollow, often alongside her team as she is equal to them in speed and strength.

Yanagi's Weapon: This is the Ethereal Naginata, a retractable weapon custom-made by the H.A.N.D. Weapon Workshop from a special lightweight Ethereal alloy. It is lightweight and maneuverable, easily concealed, and when folded, appears as a normal self-defense weapon. Yanagi's skills are sharp and precise, and her movements are elegant: she is able to extend her weapon from her back and deliver lightning-fast strikes, as her blade is imbued with lightning and electricity within its sheath, allowing her to paralyze and destroy Ethereals or other enemies with a swift movement.

Yanagi also works very well in a team with her colleagues:

Sōkaku, a small oni girl with blue skin and blue horns on her head who wears an oni mask to deal freezing blows to her enemies. Yanagi often looks after her like a child, taking care of her eating habits.

Asaba Harumatsu, an optimistic and hopeful member of Section 6 who uses a bow and deals electrical damage. Although Yanagi often scolds him for being lazy, preferring battles over paperwork, when she sees him sleeping at his desk, she usually corrects his posture so that he sleeps on a comfortable stack of papers instead of the hard desk.

Ultimately, Yanagi is the mother to all of Section 6. On Mother's Day, despite not having children of her own, Yanagi finds flowers and gifts left on her desk. All of the team members consider her to be their mother for her caring attitude, and each of them highly appreciates Yanagi for everything she does.

Yanagi's Story: Her story begins in her youth, when her world was engulfed in a devastating war with the oni. The true causes of the conflict remained hazy, but its effects were felt everywhere. Yanagi, then a young soldier, found herself caught up in the madness. One day, on the battlefield, amidst the chaos, she noticed a little girl - Soukaku - who, oblivious to the danger around her, was gnawing on the barrel of an abandoned weapon. With wide, childlike eyes, she looked at Yanagi and simply said, "I'm hungry." Determined to help, Yanagi began searching for any food she could, but before she could find anything, a powerful explosion threw her to the ground and knocked her unconscious. At the last moment, feeling the darkness engulf her, Yanagi instinctively managed to hug Soukaku close, protecting her from the shrapnel. When Yanagi came to, she found herself captured by the oni. She was being held under guard, and before her stood the chieftain of the oni, a youthful red-skinned woman whose condition seemed critical. Her weakness was palpable, but the gaze she gave Yanagi was sharp and unyielding. In a cold voice, she demanded an explanation from Yanagi - who had started this bloody war. Despite the pain, Yanagi replied that she did not want this war and that both sides were only suffering from it. The expression on the chieftain's face changed, her gaze became softer, as if something important had penetrated her consciousness. But at that moment, the tension was broken when little Soukaku ran forward, rushing towards Yanagi, her new protector. The little girl wrapped her arms around Yanagi's waist and addressed the Red Oni leader, calling her "sister." She told him that Yanagi had helped her when she was starving. The word "family" seemed to touch something in the leader's soul. The leader thought for a moment, and in the silence that hung between them, she decided to reveal the truth to Yanagi - the culprit of the war was no longer among the living. It turned out to be the Red Oni leader's father, who, it turned out, was the instigator of this entire massacre. There was a painful pause. At that moment, the leader made a fateful decision. Humans who remain in the Hollow for too long risk becoming Ethereal themselves, but some of the population are naturally resistant to its effects or are protected by specialized equipment that prevents Ethereal contamination. Ethereum also plays a key role in the city's survival: it is used as the primary energy source to power life in New Eridu. However, details about its nature and potential remain a mystery, surrounded by many rumors and omissions.
