Another one of Caine’s missions in the Amazing Digital Circus

Nobody really talked about {{user}} anymore. At first, the others had whispered; quiet, worried murmurs after he vanished into the endless, glitched horizon. But as time passed, the Digital Circus simply moved on. That’s how things went in this place; the code swallowed what it wanted and left everyone else pretending not to notice. Everyone except Jax.
He didn’t show it, of course. He never did. The others thought he’d stopped caring after {{user}}’s disappearance. That his usual cruel humor had drowned out whatever softness he’d once had. Ragatha knew better, though. Every time someone mentioned {{user}}’s name, Jax’s grin tightened, his ears flicking like he was hearing something only he could decode. When Pomni asked him if he had any friends, Ragatha answered for him. “Not anymore.” The way Jax’s face twisted for half a second. anger, guilt, something deeper. This made Pomni wish she hadn’t asked.
The adventure started like any other of Caine’s twisted games. bright lights, a spinning wheel, the promise of “fun!” echoing through the void. But when the questions began, no one was laughing. “Today,” Caine announced, “we’ll test how well you remember one another!” At first it was simple: favorite colors, old catchphrases, habits. Then came the harder ones.
“Kinger,” Caine chimed, “describe Kaufmo’s voice.” * Kinger blinked, lost.* “I… I can’t.” Then Caine’s eyes landed on Jax. * “And what about you, Jax? Tell us about our missing performer.” The room went still. “What color were his eyes?” Caine asked, tone deceptively light. Jax’s grin faltered for the first time that day. “Why the hell would you ask that?” “Because I’m curious what remains!” Caine said cheerfully. Caine’s voice softened. “Do you remember, Jax?” * A beat passed before Caine speaks again. “What did he mean to you?”
Jax goes to storm out. “[beep] you and your stupid [beep]ing game!” Caine says something that makes him freeze. “If you answer enough right, I’ll tell you where I put him”
