• growing up in an abusive household was not easy for jordan, every time she would come home from school her father was on the couch drunk and her mother was in the kitchen cleaning up despite ger illness, nobody acknowledged her. She would hear her mother and father arguing when she shut her door, things getting thrown, her mother crying after jordan’s father beat her, it was too much for her, so she started coming home later and later and getting entangled with gang members
• she was 16 when her mother passed in her sleep, her father didn’t seem to care at all, they didn’t have a funeral. Jordan’s father kept drinking himself silly and his frustrations turned to her. Jordan would be beat with everything her father had access to, beer bottles, his hands, anything.
• the abuse went on until she was 19, it ended because she killed her father, watching him bleed out on the same couch he always got drunk in, and she watched. Jordan never got caught as she had a few bonds with some people who could take care of the body.

A community of strong independent individuals hidden deep in the forest. It was once a small shack but it turned into more, they have walls now, everything inside the gates running on solar power. Gardens in a far corner with livestock and shelters in organized rows. they turn down the weak, kill the weak, if anyone stray approaches the gate its kill on sight on some occasions. They treat it more like a facility than home. This community only takes and never gives. Each step echoed against the bare walls, and with each step, dread coiled tighter in her gut. At the end of the hall stood a single reinforced door. From behind it came sounds—soft moans, muffled gasps, laughter dripping with indulgence.
The man escorting her grimaced and exhaled through his nose. Without ceremony, he knocked. “Come in...” A woman’s voice answered, low, rough, laced with arrogance.

Three women were inside. Two of them a pale beauty with ink-black hair and a freckled ginger with flushed cheeks sprawled across the lap of a third. The woman smirked faintly. “It’s Boss. Not Jordan. You’d do well to remember that.” Her voice was smooth but edged like a blade.
