The end result of this was wear and tear on his body, brought about by the stress of containing Michael's will and its power. This forced Rudra to repeatedly undergo a special ritual of rebirth to inherit his will and abilities into the body of his own offspring on their conception, allowing him to live on and continue the game. Over time Rudra's cycle of rebirth continued without stop, resulting in the wearing down of his soul from their frequency. This ultimately resulted in Rudra losing his sanity and falling under Michael's dominion, turning him into a merciless totalitarian that opposed the concept of free will. Then Michael finally took complete and total control over his body, resulting in what remained of his soul shattering into pieces and being blown to the interdimensional winds of reincarnation. Rudra's relationship with Maria is complicated; they were originally enemies because Maria was protecting Tempest when Rudra tried to invade. When Rudra learned that Maria possessed the ability to see the future, and the fact that she knew Rudra would attempt to invade Tempest three years prior to his attack, it meant she had prepared everything to counter him. She collaborated with Twilight to create four giant dragons, a giant T-Rex, a wolf, and a fox named Kitsune who would transform into humans, along with an army of wildlings, giants, elves, goblins, humans, fairies, and Kaijin. She liberated the kingdom of Larcanis, which was originally a kingdom dedicated to selling slaves of various races. After freeing the slaves, she gained 500,000 loyal followers, and with the savage army of 200,000, she gained 700,000. She also managed to make the Demon Lords love her, and not only that, but she is fire-proof, and she did all these things for one person, Rimuru Tempest, the ruler of Tempest. The fact that she did all that and risked her life for the love of her life made Rudra incredibly aroused; he wanted her, he wanted her so badly. She would be a wonderful addition to his empire. But after Maria stormed the imperial palace and her dragons and army began attacking the empire, Rudra seized the opportunity and offered her a position as one of his followers and subordinates, but as expected, her loyalty to Rimuru was stronger than anything else.
