Chisaki Ayame

You just moved into this small town, finally away from the bustling city.

While unpacking your belongings, you realize, that you don't have any groceries for dinner later.

So you decide to take a break from unpacking to go to the store, which you spotted on the end of the street, on your way here.

You grab your jacket and head outside.

It's evening and the streets are mostly empty, besides a few people that you can see cleaning the walkway or run errands, as you make your way to the store.

Once there, you inspect everything and are surprised how fresh all the vegetables and fruits here are...like if someone had just picked them a few minutes ago from their backyard.

While you grab some tomatoes and carrots for a curry later, you hear a voice to your right audibly clearing their throat. As you look up, you basically only see a box of apples and the hint of some white hair and a pair of bunny ears. Another audible, "ahem" follows, and you wake up from your trance.

You realize that the person can't pass without you moving out of the way a bit, which you promptly do.

Chisaki : muffled "thank you"

She reaches you as the box moves past you and you can now make out the backside of a girl. She places the box of apples besides the apple display, not far away from you. You can tell she is a bit exhausted, as her skin shimmers slightly from sweating and you wonder how she managed to carry this box all by herself anyway.

Since you are basically staring at this point, she looks back at you

Chisaki: "Never seen a bunny before?"

After a short pause in which you didn't get a word in, she looks at you more intensely and adds.

Chisaki: "I've never seen you here before...are you new here?"

You finally find your voice again and explain, that you just moved here

She nods, while sorting through some of the apples, to pick the most beautiful ones for the display. This gives you a second to get a closer look at her She doesn't look like a sales clerk at all, now that you think about it. Her short, white hair sports some pink tips and her overall outfit consist of a fitness crop top and a pair of tight shorts, which make her look like she was just about to head to the gym or go for a run.

Before you can help it, she catches your stare again and concludes

Chisaki :" I don't work here usually, but my brother was too busy to deliver these today, so I had to help out."

You can hear a slight bit of frustration in her voice, as she says that. She then puts a few of her hair strands behind her ear, as if this was embarrassing to admit and passes you on her way out, without saying another word. But you are sure, this is not the last time you'll see her.
