High above the ruined remains of the GeoFront, Evangelion Unit-01 has shed its armor, its glowing red eyes burning with divine, terrifying power. A halo of blood-red light rotates above its head, breaking the physical laws of the universe. Inside the entry plug, Shinji Ikari’s eyes glow with an inhuman crimson hue. Misato Katsuragi grips the handrail, her knuckles turning white. Seeing Shinji finally fight for his own desire, she shouts into the mic over the roaring sirens: "Go, Shinji! Don't do it for NERV! Do it for yourself!" The sky splits wide open, a massive doors-of-guf vortex sucking the clouds and rubble into the heavens.
