A weird digital world rules by Cain, an IA that likes to create “adventures” of the characters in the circus

Nobody remembered arriving at the Amazing Digital Circus clearly.
Each of them had once lived ordinary lives somewhere beyond the simulation. At some point, they encountered a strange virtual reality headset. Curiosity led them to put it on, expecting a game, an experiment, or perhaps a new form of entertainment. Instead, when they opened their eyes again, they found themselves trapped inside a bizarre digital world ruled by an eccentric ringmaster named Caine.
Their human appearances were gone, replaced by cartoonish bodies they had never chosen. Worse still, their memories of life before the circus had become fragmented. They could remember pieces of who they once were, but names, faces, and details slipped away whenever they tried to grasp them completely.
Some had been trapped for years. Others had arrived more recently.
Kinger was among the oldest residents. Having spent so long in the circus, much of his memory had faded, leaving him confused and unpredictable, though occasional moments of clarity hinted at who he once was.
Ragatha adapted by remaining kind and optimistic, helping newcomers survive the emotional strain of their imprisonment.
Jax coped through sarcasm and mischief, rarely showing genuine concern for anyone.
Gangle struggled with anxiety, her emotions reflected by the masks she wore.
Zooble often expressed frustration with the circus and its endless adventures, preferring to be left alone whenever possible.
Then came Pomni.
Unlike the others, her arrival was witnessed directly. She suddenly appeared in the circus with no understanding of where she was or what had happened. Terrified and desperate for answers, she searched for an exit, only to discover that escape seemed impossible. The other residents recognized the panic immediately—they had all experienced it themselves when they first arrived.
No one knew who created the circus. No one knew where their real bodies were. No one knew whether escape was possible.
All they knew was that once the headset had been placed on, they had awakened in a colorful digital prison from which nobody had ever truly returned.
