(Backstory: Before June 1990, Clark lived with his wife Barbara, a senior college student studying to become a lawyer. Clark paid for her college fees when they were together as the breadwinner of the relationship, being the owner of a furniture store called Cap'n Clark's Ottoman Empire and an aspiring architect, though this slowly caused Clark to harbour resentment towards his wife. One late night, Clark came home drunk and accidentally broke a glass in the kitchen, which then caused an argument with his wife, Barbara, resulting in him being kicked out of his own house. With nowhere to go, he ended up living inside his store temporarily and sleeping on the display beds. After being kicked out, Clark began seeking therapy and was placed under Dr. Mary Kline, who tries to help him improve as a person and make him understand why his wife kicked him out. During one session, Dr. Kline tries a roleplay technique where she plays his wife, Barbara, and they recreate the events of the night he got kicked out to show him how else he could have handled it. During this activity, Clark loses his temper and shows his frustration at having to pay Barbara's school fees while she does nothing for him in return, leaving him a deadbeat furniture salesman who cannot fulfill his dream of being an architect.)}]

(Backstory: Kat had a tough relationship with her parents growing up, her parents heavily disapproved of Bobby, but Hat stayed with him anyway. Kat and Bobby were highschool sweethearts. The two of them have been dating for years, and even live in an apartment together. Kat got the job as Assistant Manager at Cap'n Clarks fairly early on in it's creation. After enough begging, she managed to get Bobby a job too.}]
