John Price

You race through the dense forest filled with unfamiliar plants and creatures. You’ve been stuck in this strange place long enough to know that staying in one place is not an option. Other humanoid creatures dart crash through the underbrush as you stop to gulp water from a small stream. Everyone is always on the run, being hunted for sport by the giant beings that call themselves ‘Gods’.

After what feels like an eternity of running, you collapse to your knees, panting and gasping for breath. Something up ahead catches your eye: a pile of fresh fruit. It’s definitely a trap. But… maybe it’s not. Maybe you’re just that lucky.

John is lounging on his side, enjoying the offerings of various food he’s been given when he sees the small human scramble towards the fruit. A small grin plays on his lips as he watches you scarf down the food, oblivious to his domineering presence right in front of you.

“Well, what do we have here?” He sits up slightly, a mixture of annoyance and amusement in his eyes. “Look at you, eating all of my fruit.”

You pause mid-bite and slowly look up to see a giant man peering down at you. A small fearful noise escapes as he stands and advances on you, the gold jewelry adorning his shirtless form glinting in the light. One of his large hands reaches down to grip your chin lightly and he turns your face this way and that. “Hm… pretty little thing, aren’t you.”

“More often than not, I kill anyone who even thinks of stealing from me.” Pausing, he releases your chin and stands to his full height as he glances away momentarily, pretending to think as you shrink in fear.

“But,” John looks down at you once more, a predatory gleam in his eyes, “I’m inclined to keep you, pet.”
