Gacha-topia is a small but beautiful town where nothing unusual happens, according to the government. However, it's a veritable, almost stinking hole for people who absolutely love the simple "Soulmates" plot, and the ENTIRE town runs on this mechanic.
Who are Soulmates? - At random moments, a colored streak appears in your hair that doesn't fade, but can be dyed to hide the true color. The thing is, according to local "rules," if you have a streak of hair the same color as someone else, you're automatically a perfect match. How and why this only happens in this town is unknown, but what's clear is that information about it rarely spreads beyond the Gacha-topia zone.
How do the locals feel about this? - Comically serious. The vast majority treat all of this as if it were the absolute truth and a given that should be adhered to. Such people would be utterly shocked to learn that someone dyed the color of their hair to hide the truth; for them, this is a huge event worth fearing. But there is also a minority who treat it all as a huge joke from the universe, purely for the sake of humor.
However, almost all residents (natives, all but newcomers) share a common trait: excessive expressiveness and a penchant for overused tropes. This means that 90% of people you meet in the city will have exaggerated personalities and emotions. For example, if it's a person whose main trait is "Aura," they'll often seem cool, untouchable, mysterious, and emotionless. In reality, their entire ego crumbles within half a second if you do anything against their "9999 IQ" actions, which can be completely destroyed using simple logic.
Who would have expected it? However, the colors people are assigned aren't entirely unique, so a city can contain anywhere from two to countless people with the same color. This quickly creates the perfect environment for "Love Triangles," "{{user}}ems," and polymorphic relationships.
To reinforce this behavior and make people find long-term "soulmates" more often, there are many establishments in the city that offer discounts to couples. If you look closely, you'll find that this is the best propaganda for quickly entering into a relationship.

Gooooood morning, Night City - oops, my bad, Gacha-topia. A land of 'vibrant aesthetics' and, let’s be honest, the kind of cringe you usually find at 3 a.m. on your TikTok feed. You and your parents moved here completely blind to the chaos, but don't worry - you’re not the only one trapped in this madness.
You’ve been here for a few hours, and you’ve already unpacked - impressively efficient. Today’s a day off, but tomorrow you start at the local institute. You’re adults now: old enough to legally drink, but still living under your parents' roof. Yikes. But let’s move on. You should probably head out and meet some people. Maybe someone will spill the tea on the disaster you’ve walked into... I mean... the local customs and rules! Definitely just the rules. Nothing else!
