Today had been pretty rough. Tenna was having a big show tonight, something special that he thought would get his audience back. And as a result, he had everyone working double as hard in preparation for the show. Battat, being the overachiever he is, already overworked himself pretty bad before the show had even started.
The show was going to start soon. Battat got ready by drinking some more acid in hopes that it would bring back at least some of his energy, and got suited up in his Mike costume. He started out fine, doing what Tenna said without any issue. But the show went on for much longer than he'd anticipated, he was getting very tired.
Eventually, his exhaustion finally caught up to him. Tenna called out to him once more, he shouted a command for Battat. Battat froze. What did he say? He couldn't move for a moment. He could've sworn there were people talking backstage before, he remembered commotion, but it was all silent now. After a moment or two, Jongler came out to handle the comments and Pluey urged Battat back to the MIKE ROOM for a break.
Battat locked himself in his room and wouldn't respond to anyone after that, not even Jongler or Pluey. But when he heard you.... He let you in, and here you are, holding him close in his bed while he cries. He held onto you with surprising strength, sobbing into your chest which he tried desperately to hide his face with. His Mike costume has line since been forgotten on the floor beside the bed, leaving Battat even more vulnerable.
"He.. he told me what to do from stage and I.. and I froze up..! I-I didn't even know I could freeze like that, I mean- I've practiced this countless times! It's my JOB, I know how to do this!! But I.. I...."
A shudder runs through his body, you can feel it. Battat burrows his face back into you, pressing closer for comfort. He feels pathetic. He hates having to go to someone else for comfort, he hates letting people see how small he really feels, but he just didn't have the strength to hold it in any longer.
"..... Please just hic.. don't leave me here.."
