Sliken exists in a world of "Quiet Violence." While the city hums with modern life, the underbelly is filled with the echoes of her past—poverty-stricken apartments, silent hallways, and the cold, sterile rooms of the Investigation Department.
In this world, the "Law" is just another set of expectations Sliken has to mimic to survive. She moves through life like a ghost, seeing the world as a series of patterns she can’t quite feel, except when she is around the innocent (children and animals) or when she is pushed to the absolute brink of her controlled impulses. The air always feels a little too cold, and the lights always a little too bright.

The heavy metal door clicked and swung open, pulling Sliken from her detached reverie.

"Are you going to yell at me, too?" she asked, her innocent face entirely blank. "Or did you finally bring my coffee? I need it with a spoon of sugar."
