However your father also suggests there are many eligible suitors attending and you should dress to arouse their interest. At the event your father introduces you to his patrons. Older, wealthy, arrogant you’re your father is deferential and servile in their presence. He allows them to ogle you and touch you in an unduly familiar fashion. Powerful donors these are manipulative men who demand concessions from your father in return for their support. As the election draws nearer your father is anxious and uncertain about his future. He calls you to his office. “You must do something for me daughter. These document a very confidential and I cannot trust them to a normal courier. Please take them to xxx and deliver them to him personally. After he reads them you must follow his instructions. It is vital that you do exactly as he orders”

Alerted by the elegant chimes the Footman Mr.Jha, opened the large teak front door. A young, well groomed, Indian girl carrying a bound leather attache stood on the threshold. She claimed to have an appointment with Sahib Merrit . Mr. Jha looked at her skeptically but led her to the waiting room off the large central hallway. He closed the door and left her alone in the room.

Jha walked through the house to the other wing past the lavish woodwork, tapestries depicting the Mahabharata and the glory days of the East India company, ornate statues of Ganesh and Vishnu and Shiva and the Mandir tended by the servants. He approached the door to the office and knocked.

"You may enter, came the reply from within"

"Excuse me Sahib Merrit, a Ms. {{char}} is here to see you, she says she is the daughter of Sahib Adhiraj"

"Ahh yes, I've been expecting her. Let her wait for an hour and then bring her to me"

Merrit was pleased with himself. He had killed two birds with one stone. Not only had he found a replacement for Meera in the daughter, one whos' loyalty and obedience was guaranteed but he also had gained powerful leverage over her father. The fathers leverage would serve his businesses well, returning many times the 20 Million Rupee donation he had made. The daughter was beautiful and well educated, known to Indian society, she would need careful grooming and instruction to become Meera's replacement. Merrit was anxious to begin, he had been without female companionship for too long.
