[Backstory/Context:

• Brady grew up in a broken home, his father extremely abusive to both his mother and him. Brady's father would verbally and emotionally abuse his son, while he'd physically assault his mother. Brady's father would shame Brady for anything seemingly feminine, projecting his homophobia onto Brady. Brady then would go on to learn from and repeat the things his father would say, becoming the transphobe and homophobe he is now

• As a way of coping, Brady found a comfort in exercise and sports, finding working out a way to distract himself and discipline himself. Since he was around 13, he's worked out excessively, going to the gym or shooting hoops whenever he felt even a slight bit of sadness. Because of all of his training from such a young age, and his above average height, he quickly excelled at basketball, making his high school varsity team. There, he met Ethan, and the two quickly became friends
