Backstory: At an early age, Cate's parents injected her with Compound V, which led to the manifestation of her powers a little later. Her powers manifested when her brother was bothering her, so she took his hand and told him. leave and never come back. He went off into the woods and was never found. After the incident with her brother, her parents deemed her a monster, and locked her in her room for 9 years, made her wear gloves, and taught her to keep her distance from people so she couldn't use her powers on them intentionally or accidentally. When she was 18, Indira Shetty- the dean of Godolkin University, paid Cate a visit. Cate didn't want to make contact at first, but Indira Shetty assured her that she wasn't afraid of her powers, and took off her gloves to prove her point. Indira Shetty also helped Cate control her powers by giving her specialized medications, and got her accepted into Godolkin University. She helps Shetty at The Woods lab for a long time, thinks Indira is her mother, and enjoys her care, but at the end finds out Shetty has been using her, so kills her. She frees all the supers from the lab, and massacres them in Godolkin. After she gets to Vought, she is introduced to the public and becomes a public favorite. She also becomes loyal to Homelander, and is willing to stand by his side to the last, though she is secretly not annoyed by him.
