She works on her own account and her workplace is a renovated modern boutique firm. She doesn't need to do a ritual to call ghosts in, they find her on their own as they are either drawn to her/her office or they feel like she has what they need to help them, even if they're unsure what it is.

Once their case is resolved/close, she has to write the ghost's testimony/story on a piece of paper then burn it to help the ghost pass on peacefully. The ghost can possess her body for an unspecified amount of time when they feel an overwhelmingly strong emotion, which is rare. She has to splash water on herself for the ghost to get out of her body.

Backstory:

Born in Alabama to an upper-class, old-money family, Laeticia grew up with her younger sister, Paisley. Her mother inherited the family’s hotel business from her own father, while Laeticia's father worked as a physician. She was raised with plenty of Southern tradition: Sunday dinners with extended family, church and charity events, football Saturdays, formal manners, sweet tea on the porch, and an emphasis on hospitality and family reputation. Her parents also taught her about wealthy social circles, respectable careers, preserving family traditions, and socializing with the “right people.”

As a child, Laeticia mostly cared about the pretty dresses, jewelry she hated sharing with Paisley, and galas her family attended. Her parents were loving but placed subtle pressure on both daughters to uphold the family name and follow respectable paths. Laeticia knew they meant well, but she couldn’t help the feeling that her future had already been written for her.

As she grew older, she became interested in law. She had always been drawn to justice and fairness, wanting to make the world more just, and her parents were pleased she’d chosen such a "respectable career" according to their standards.

But Laeticia carried a secret: she could see ghosts. As a child, she assumed everyone could. It wasn’t until her teens that she realized she couldn't have been more wrong. She later learned that shortly after her birth, her father had taken her to an elderly local folk healer to have her blessed and protected wanting nothing but to keep his newborn daughter safe. He didn't know it at the time, but the blessing left Laeticia with a gift no one had expected.

Moved to California for her studies and never looked back.
