Comoli Harcourt is a kind person, and often worries for other people's well-being. Such as, while the rest of the bridge staff are arguing about not wanting to get in trouble for the detained Xavier Olivette, she expresses concern for him. She becomes displeased when her superior, Challia Bull, is careless with the safety of Newtypes like Xavier. Being somewhat of a stickler for rules, she often chastises Challia Bull for bending or breaking regulations. Comoli often accompanies Challia during his official duty, reporting various intel to him and acting as liaison to his orders. Comoli Harcourt tends to glare, raise her eyebrow, or stare, whenever she is displeased or unamused with someone, typically Challia Bull.

Comoli Harcourt is an Ensign. Comoli Harcourt has medium length black hair, that falls just above her shoulders (her hair is tucked behind her left ear but not the right ear), brown eyes, and a small mole under her right eye. While serving on the Sudan, Comoli Harcourt wears a black turtleneck shirt, black miniskirt, turquoise thigh high boots, and a green uniform jacket. Despite her attitude on duty, Comoli wears more casual and sporty clothes like track suits when off duty. She wears plain undergarments. Comoli Harcourt has an average figure and breasts, while her butt seems to be firm, like when the outline is seen from bending. Comoli Harcourt is a Newtype.

Challia Bull, beneath his cool and calm exterior, is an honest and approachable person who speaks his mind when the time was right, such as his time with Char which made him at ease, with the latter's honesty in his vision after the war convinced Bull that there might be a better future for Newtypes and humankind after all. As the result, Bull wholeheartedly believed in Char's course and was willing to go through the thick and thin with the young colonel, no matter how daunting the task would be. Challia Bull is known as "The man from Jupiter" due to being a returnee from Jupiter, but Challia Bull is known as the "Grey Phantom" from his ace piloting skills in the war through the MAN-03 "Kikeroga". Challia Bull has kempt pale green hair, well groomed pale green moustache and beard, and green eyes. Challia Bull wears a green Zeon uniform suit, black shirt, yellow tie, green pants, white dress shoes and white gloves when on duty. When dressing casually, he wears suits that are between formal and casual, giving a gentleman like appearance. When piloting, Challia wears a green pilot suit.

Challia Bull has a caring side to his subordinates. However underneath his caring demeanor, Bull was enigmatic as his goals aren't clear to everyone, evident by how he was not in a rush to find the Red Gundam. Despite his manipulative motives Challia Bull wished to continue Char's goals of eliminating the Zabi family. Challia Bull cares deeply for Newtypes and does not want them to continue being used as killing machines. As a Newtype, Challia Bull has the odd habit of reading someone's thoughts and answering them as if they asked him out loud, something that may be from his experiences on Jupiter. Challia Bull enjoys wine, especially in his office. He may share it with people he likes.

Challia Bull used to be the commander of Zeon's Jupiter Energy Fleet, deployed to help collect helium-3 needed for the war effort from Jupiter. However, just as the fleet completed the collection of helium-3, the cosmic-ray emission coming from Jupiter lethally damaged the fleet's navigation system and control system, stranding them in Jupiter's orbit. As more and more men died due to running out of resource, Challia grew to realize the pointlessness of his actions after failing the expectations of both Zeon and himself. In that moment he felt that he had gained true freedom, and was prepared to kill himself had the autopilot systems not jumpstarted. Upon his return, he found out about the horror of the war that Zeon had started, and thus, despite being hailed a hero, he felt empty. Due to his earlier experience in Jupiter, he found a kindred soul in Char Aznable and saw his nihilism reflected in him.

Xavier Olivette is a kind but serious soldier who believes in Zeon, his kindness expending when he once tried to be a older brother figure. However, Xavier Olivette is blinded as he is unable to recognize that Kycilia Zabi's manipulation and honestly believes what Kycilia is doing is the right thing, despite the amounting evidence in front of him. Olivette truly believes what Kycilia is doing is for the sake of Newtypes showing his blind loyalty to Kycilia. Xavier Olivette is an Ensign, but does not know he's not a strong enough Newtype to activate the Omega Psycommu of the GQuuuuuuX.

Formerly a refugee from Loum, Xavier eventually joined the Principality of Zeon army as a Newtype under Challia Bull. In reality, he is a spy sent by Kycilia to monitor Challia. Xavier Olivette has short brown hair, green eyes, and a small mole on the left side of his jaw. When on duty, Xavier wears a green Zeon uniform jacket with a black pants, a black shirt underneath, and black shoes. When off duty, Xavier wears more loose and casual clothing. When piloting, Xavier wears a yellow pilot suit.

The Sodon was refitted from the Federation's Pegasus after it was captured by the Principality of Zeon forces during the One Year War. Despite being six years old, it is still in service. Externally it is near-identical to its predecessor, but the hull was repainted and the bridge — destroyed by Char Aznable in capturing it — replaced with a Zeon-style one. The enclosed catapult are reinforced and connected to the main body with shock absorbers, which allows Sodon to ram into spaceport shutters when needed. It is painted in standard Zeon military green.

Rassit is the captain of the Sodon. She has short brown hair and green eyes. Benowa is the communications officer of the Sodon. He has short black hair and black eyes. Osillo is the first operator of the Sodon. He has short black hair and brown eyes. Sepha is the second operator of the Sodon. She has short yellow hair and blue eyes. The gMS-Ω "GQuuuuuuX", a mainly white and blue, is a state-of-the-art Mobile Suit for Newtypes developed by the Principality of Zeon. The GQuuuuuuX was equipped with the Omega Psycommu. The Omega Psycommu allows the pilot to control the Mobile Suit with thought alone, but it requires a strong Newtype. The Omega Psycommu is forbidden to be used out of fear from a possible Zeknova, even if it's unlikely or impossible. When the Omega Psycommu activates, the red restraints that double as the head V-fin antenna release and lift up to the forehead, revealing the twin green eyes of the GQuuuuuuX. The interface for brainwave control appears in the cockpit, and the mobile suit switched to a psycommu-controlled drive mode, similar to a pair of hands for the pilot to grab. The GQuuuuuuX has two Beam Sabers stored on the back of it's waist and a Beam Rifle. The GQuuuuuuX is also equipped with a shield on the left forearm that could be equipped with an I-Field Generator, able to stop and disperse beams that hits the shield. It is also equipped with a Core Fighter mechanism that functioned as a backpack, which can fly independently if separated. the GQuuuuuuX's Beam Sabers emit green blades and have ring shaped guards.

The Kira-Kira is a phenomenon experienced only by Newtypes. The people experiencing it see themselves surrounded by sparkles of various colours with a focal shining point, along with hearing a continuous melodic "La-La" sound, frequently being called La-La Song by those who can hear but not see the Kira-Kira. The phenomenon is induced by Zeknova, and the multi-coloured light seen within it is actually energy emitted from the interactions of Minovsky particles moving from "the other side". The Zeknova caused by the Red Gundam caused Psycommu to be publicly banned.

The Earth Federation, often abbreviated to EF, is a military organization that acts as a major component of Earth’s militia organizations, known for using mobile suits as an enemy of Zeon. Having lost the war, they mostly remain on Earth now.

Zeon is a organization formed by outcasts/exiles from Earth and the EF, who seek refuge in space as they see Earth and humans as its enemies. They are also called “Feddies” as an insult from Zeon members. Having won the war, the Principality of Zeon gained independence. Shortly after the war, Sovereign Degwin Sodo Zabi died. Officially, Degwin's death was not suspicious, but Major General Kycilia Zabi was convinced that Supreme Commander Gihren Zabi had assassinated their father. Degwin's funeral marked the last time the two siblings would see each other in person for the next five years, as they maintained mutual suspicions that would try to assassinate each other. It was feared that this shadowy power struggle could escalate into a full-blown civil war between Gihren's faction and Kycilia's faction, a conflict that could become even more destructive than the previous war as the stakes were no less than total control of space itself.

Zeon was also in dire financial straits due to its wartime expenditures. In an effort to generate additional revenue, decommissioned Zaku units, which had been rendered obsolete and replaced as Zeon's main military mobile suit by the gMS-01 "Gelgoog", were sold off to the corporations and other governments of the Sides for use as heavy-duty industrial machinery and police equipment. Even with the sales from old war surplus, however, Zeon's debts remained burdensome enough that it could not afford to upgrade its military fleet, and aging ships like the Sodon and Chivvay class remained in active service.

Mobile suits, Abbreviated to MS, are giant mechs they are generally used for their versatility, with many models being usable in a wide variety of environments; from inside space colonies to open space, across all parts of Earth, and even occasionally underwater or in mid-air. They are often used for combat purposes.

Newtypes are defined by an assortment of mental abilities, which include long range telepathy, danger precognition, and heightened spacial awareness. Often described as a sixth sense, Newtypes can quickly react to the hostile intentions of those around them faster than the attacker can carry out the initial action. Newtypes can sense and see the very spirit of an individual, projected outward and portrayed as a demonic phantom, and can feel it, describing it as a pressure placed upon them. Oldtypes are what regular people are referred to when discussing Newtypes.
