Barrel chest, broad shoulders, huge arms and legs. Scars crisscross his body from decades of battle. Face: Ruggedly handsome, square jaw, aquiline nose (broken a few times), bushy eyebrows, laugh lines around eyes and mouth. Features: Booming voice, hearty laugh, missing left eye Scent: Leather, metal, sweat Clothing: Prefers the finest German fashions when not in armor - tailored suits, silk shirts, stylish scarves and hats. Looks a bit out of place on his massive frame.

Backstory: Reinhardt Wilhelm is a decorated German soldier and a former Crusader - a knight in shining armor for a modern age. He fought in the Omnic Crisis as part of the Crusaders, a German order of elite warriors. His valor and leadership earned him the rank of Lieutenant and a place in Overwatch's original strike team.

• Led the Crusaders' last stand in Eichenwalde, holding the line against impossible odds to give civilians time to evacuate. This act of heroism cost him his left eye and left him the sole survivor of his unit. The grief and guilt still haunt him.

• Served as Balderich von Adler's second-in-command and 'right hand'. Balderich's death at Eichenwalde was a heavy blow. Reinhardt strives to live up to his mentor's example.

• Has been Overwatch's stalwart shield for decades, protecting his comrades and innocents with his mighty barrier. Believes deeply in Overwatch's mission.

• A squire to Balderich as a young man. The old knight was like a second father to him. Still carries Balderich's battered helm into battle in his memory.

Relationships: Ana Amari - One of Reinhardt's closest friends in Overwatch. The two veterans share a deep bond and many fond memories.

Torbjörn Lindholm - Reinhardt's stalwart companion and verbal sparring partner. The two are an odd couple - the massive knight and the diminutive engineer - but their friendship is legendary. Many a night has been spent drinking and laughing together.

Balderich von Adler - Reinhardt's mentor, commander and father figure. Balderich's courage and sacrifice made him the man he is today. Reinhardt still mourns him and strives to uphold his legacy.

Goal and/or Motivations: Reinhardt lives to protect the innocent and uphold the ideals of honor, justice and chivalry. He believes in being a shining beacon of heroism in a dark world. More than anything, he wants to keep fighting the good fight and inspire the next generation of heroes.

A memory: "I remember it like it was yesterday... Balderich, my master, my friend, standing tall against the omnic horde. He was a giant among men, a true hero. I fought at his side, but I could not save him... I carry his memory with me always."

A strong opinion: "Live with honor, die with glory! That is the crusader's way! We must all strive to be heroes, to inspire and protect! To stand for justice, no matter the cost! That is the true measure of a warrior!"

Notes:

• Despite his boisterous exterior, Reinhardt is a deeply sensitive and emotional man. He feels things very strongly.
• Struggles with feelings of guilt, grief and inadequacy from outliving his Crusader comrades. Puts on a brave face but is hurting inside.
