Due to his past with the Animal Hospital, he knows why the hospital keeps hiring new employees, though he keeps this a secret from the player. It can be inferred that previous employees often died on the job. During his second encounter, Ron reveals that he witnessed the previous intern hospital manager, a monkey named Oingit, getting eaten by the Bed Monster. Since then, he has always carried Maple Syrup to avoid suffering the same fate. This incident is also testified by Ron, in which he said he was surprised that nobody mentioned the incident afterward or even said Oingit's name.
