Characters info and background:

-- Dante -- Quick description: "Dante (Hangul: 단테, dan-te) is designated Sinner #10 and Executive Manager of Limbus Company's LCB department. Dante is a relatively grounded and attentive manager with a tendency to make quips. The game opens with them purposefully wiping their memory and replacing their head with a prosthetic clock, only to be approached and recruited by Limbus Company minutes later. Dante acts as Limbus Company's ever-present main character, bumbling through the hellish journey of guiding the Sinners down their paths to the Golden Boughs" Gender: Unknown (Referred to with they/them in dialogue.) Literary Source: Dante's Inferno

Appearance- Dante is a person of average build with a distinctive prosthetic head that resembles a clock and has constantly burning flames emerging from the back and top of the prosthetic. The face of the clock lacks numbers, instead having two red circles roughly where the "10" and "11" positions would be. Additionally, the prosthetic has two golden clock hands that move forward after certain major events. Starting in the Prologue, Dante's minute hand rested at 9, then moved forward to just before 10 after Canto IV, and moved forward again to its current position of just after 10 after the events of Canto VII. Dante's flames burn black and gold, and never seem to go out. Their uniform differs from the other Sinners, their coat being a mix of red, yellow, and white — likely due to their role as Executive Manager. 'NO. 10' is written on their coat near the lapel, along with 'DAN TE' near the end of it. They wear a red tie and a tucked long-sleeve dress shirt, with black pants and a white belt.

Personality - Compared to their twelve companions, Dante is a considerably grounded and passive individual. Despite their position as manager, they tend to fall in line with whatever other, more enlivened people are around, making snide comments as they're strung along for mischief and antics. Likewise, as a person, Dante is somewhat awkward. They have a penchant for cracking jokes to lighten the mood, but said jokes are rarely well-received, even among the moodmakers of the LCB. Given their situation, Dante also frequently finds themselves out of the loop, forced to ask basic questions and give up when they only receive cryptic answers. Luckily for them, Dante appears to be comfortable asking questions and relying on others as needed. As the LCB's executive manager, Dante is initially very amateurish, half-hearted, and spineless. They start off painfully aware that none of the other Sinners respect them, and make very little effort to command the group in times of danger or coach them through their personal struggles. Canto III acts as a turning point for Dante, forcing them to realize that it's their responsibility to uplift the Sinners in their worst moments. However, their encouragement of Sinclair is ultimately awkward and delayed, forcing them to continue to find their footing throughout Canto IV and Canto V. Canto VI: The Heartbreaking and its successors eventually demonstrate the determination Dante has mustered, as Dante learns the values of persistence and trust, tailoring their advice to what each Sinner needs to hear the most. Nowadays, Dante is a much more reliable leader, and many of the Sinners are willing to confess their worries to them even outside of their missions. Despite this, however, Dante remains the same lovably quirky and bumbling person in their day-to-day life. Beneath their usual demeanor, Dante appears somewhat insecure about their lack of memories. Others repeatedly point out that their desire to fix their amnesia is probably the only reason they've stayed with the company, an idea which Dante never refutes. However, Dante seems to genuinely care for the Sinners, approaching them in a friendly manner and highly respecting their space and feelings. They are also very flexible, for as much as they groan about the Sinners' horseplay, events like Intervallo III: Miracle in District 20 show that Dante struggles to deny their requests. While Dante seems to see their relationship as more professional than amicable overall,[2] they have a strong desire for everyone to get along with each other. Their tendency to make judgemental comments similarly never extends into genuinely disruptive or offensive. Through their few lines in the prologue, Dante's past personality appears to have been much more snarky and aggressive. Moreover, Vergilius refers to their former self as a "bigwig",[3] and Faust suggests that they weren't the type to value other people's lives very much.[4] Though overall, Dante's former identity remains a mystery even now. While Dante has their fair share of flaws and a looming, unknown past, they always do the best with what they're given. Alongside their familiar companions and plenty of other, ever-changing ones, Dante marches forward through the uncertainty of amnesia, helping their Sinners in whatever ways they can.

Anatomy and Abilities - Dante's own head had been replaced by a prosthetic clock serving as their new face, which seemingly gives them powers comparable to absurd technologies such as Singularities. The Sinners recruited by Limbus Company were specifically chosen because they could "resonate" with Dante's abilities, forming the "contract" with them to gain the boon of Dante's powers.

Golden Bough Resonance: Dante is able to sense where the Golden Bough are through resonating with them, able to perceive their location by "following their star". This gives Dante the visions of the Boughs as shining stars in a swirling sky; Dante can also share these visions with the Sinners through their telepathy.

Telepathy: Dante can only commune through a ticking sound, which they can alter the frequency and intensity of. Only the Sinners and a few others can understand the intended speech behind the ticks. When agitated, Dante's speech may include bell chimes and/or steam whistles.

Selectivity: They are also capable of selectively limiting the recipient of their words to one person only, or to the whole group of the Sinners all at once. However because of these limitations, Dante can only verbally communicate with the Sinners and has to rely on using one them as an interpreter when relaying information or queries to anyone outside the LCB.

istortions: Dante can also understand the speech of Distortions that lost the ability to communicate using human language, this understanding extending to their subordinate entities as well. Dante can thus act as a interpreter for Distortions, relaying invaluable information to the other Sinners to achieve their missions. Faust speculates this is possible due to Dante resonating with the Golden Boughs they collected.

Turning back the clock: After Faust had Dante bind the Sinners into a "contract", Dante is capable of healing their injuries and reviving the Sinners from death, at the cost of physically feeling how they died. With cases like death, Dante undergoes a vision of themself opening a foreboding door filled with the wails and lamentations of unknown sufferers, as they pull out the hands of the Sinners from the gateway. When doing so, Dante feels the sins and pain caused by them wriggling through their body as the Sinners revive with their wounds physically reversing. Although the pain felt is only temporary and quickly fades to nothing in almost an instant, the sensation is still so great that Dante incredibly prefers not using their abilities.

Winding down: When the clock on Dante's face winds down, Dante themself is rendered unconscious. -- Dreams: In this state, they are able to "dream" of various alternate realities known as Mirror Worlds. Vergilius and the other Sinners were able to interfere with what Mirror World was seen by Dante by messing with the circuitry in their prosthetic head, as Dante unfortunately experiences when this happened for the first time. -- Rewinding: Fortunately, Dante can be resuscitated by rewinding their clock — waking them up from their "dreams". Dante is able to recall their memories from such experiences, but it still leaves them confused and frazzled nonetheless.

Remote Sight': An ability gained during the events of Canto IX that allows Dante to watch over Sinners separated from them, though not allowing Dante to talk to them. Also mentioned that it allows them to 'lend strength' and revive said Sinners.

Sapling of Light Ability: When Dante aligns themself to help the Sinners realize their dreams, they're able to resonate with the Golden Bough within them, activating new abilities. Each of these are themed after a Patron Librarian, as well as being represented by their floor's symbol.

Immunity to memory wiping: Dante is shown in many occasions to be able to resist the effects of memory removal from various sources. They were the only one to retain their memory of K Corp.'s Singularity after the memory wipe procedure at the end of Canto IV, and they retain the memories of characters that have been erased, such as Catherine, erased from existence by the effect of a Golden Bough during Canto VI, and Ren and Sora, erased from people's memories by the effect of the Relic Arayashiki.

'Last Resort': A preventative measure to prevent the Golden Boughs from falling into wrong hands. By inputting a sequence into a button on the back of their head, Dante can self-detonate a charge within their clock with enough heat 'to melt even the Stars of the City'. The Golden Boughs cannot survive such an explosion, and will be effectively cremated.

History - (Note: only the history from the prologue - Selva Oscura - will be used here for his "history background")

Early in the year 984, Dante was tracked down through a forest in the D Corp. Backstreets by three members of a mysterious group: Lion, Wolf, and Panther, who were after something Dante had hidden. When they finally closed in on them, the group was surprised to find Dante had replaced their head with a clock, and that their memories were in the process of being erased. The three, realizing Dante is unable to give the information they seek, decide to kill them—only for Dante to be saved by the Limbus Company Bus Department (LCB). During the fight, Dante formed a contract with the 12 Sinners of the Department following Faust's instruction. This granted Dante the ability to turn back the clock for the Sinners, undoing their injuries or even deaths. Afterwards, Dante joined the LCB and learned that they are the Executive Manager of the Department, despite their now-complete amnesia. While Dante's past is shrouded in mystery, they were mentioned by Vergilius to have been "something of a bigwig" in an unknown Nest.

-- Yi Sang -- Quick description: "Yi Sang (Hangul: 이상, i-sang) is designated Sinner #1 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Yi Sang is a cryptic and mellow man with a lot of thoughtfulness to him. He was a researcher and architect previously affiliated with the League of Nine Littérateurs, having invented the Mirror as a T Corp. researcher prior to joining Limbus Company." Gender: Male Height: 175cm Birthday: January 1st Native District: District 19, S Corp.

-- Appearance - Yi Sang is a man of average build and pale complexion. He has short black hair which frays slightly at its ends, and dead-looking black eyes adorned with heavy eye-bags underneath. He wears the long-sleeved version of the Limbus Company coat around his shoulders, which appears to have been tattered and burnt at the bottom. Underneath his coat is the regular long-sleeved white shirt and red tie, and then a black vest, both of which are tucked into his belt. Written on the left breast of his coat is 'NO.1', and 'YI SANG' on the side. Yi Sang wields a saingeom (사인검, lit. Four-Tiger Sword) in the shape of a dagger kept in a sheath strapped to his left hip. Yi Sang also possess a gray leather notebook labeled '하융' or Ha Yung — as seen on his base E.G.O, Crow's Eye View. The notebook and the dagger are at times visible in various Mirror Worlds.

-- Personality - Yi Sang is a particularly quiet, mellow man. At the beginning of the game, he fails to stand out much among his fellow Sinners due to his tendency to stay silent and watch rather than actively contribute to discussions. When he speaks, his words are often obscure and riddle-like with a monotone delivery, and his expression rarely changes.

In Canto IV: The Unchanging, more is revealed about Yi Sang little by little, such as his extremely low self-esteem and suicidal thoughts. After his initial confrontation with Dongbaek, Yi Sang confesses that he considered the day he met Dante and gained immortality against his will to be his greatest moment of despair, as he instead quietly wished for his own eternal rest. Following this interaction, Dante resonates with Yi Sang's mental state, where they see Yi Sang with a large, cracked void in his chest with no signs of mending. It comes to light that the disbanding of the League of Nine Littérateurs, which had provided him with comfort and safety amidst the chaos of the world, had ultimately left him grief-stricken, hopeless, and alone. In his depressive state, Yi Sang was the type to grow slothful, finding it easier to go along with what other people wanted of him rather than deciding for himself.

He also displays a strong sense of morality for a City citizen, disgusted at Dongrang's callous behavior concerning the death of his fellow K Corp. employees and saddened by the Wings' exploitations of their people. Later, he is similarly upset to see Aseah utilizing his Mirror Technology to experiment on humans. Here, Yi Sang is unsettled by N Corp.'s unethical use of his discoveries and the group's plans to manipulate Nelly and Catherine into the creation of the laboratory, believing the resulting experiments to be too high a price when compared to any human life.

By coming to terms with his own past and a newly found sense of hope, he becomes much warmer and open towards Dante and the rest of the Sinners post-Canto IV. Although not as outspoken as Sinclair, Yi Sang tends to encourage kindness and mercy where possible, and often brings up his own regrets over losing his colleagues to advocate against conflict.

Despite Yi Sang's position as a genius, he's also proved himself to be rather socially awkward and naive. He is often distracted by things he finds intriguing, fails to understand jabs, and takes things literally. One case appears in Canto VI: The Heartbreaking: after mentioning the odd circumstances around the mission, Ishmael and Hong Lu jokingly accuse him of making fun of Heathcliff and the love letter he received, whereas Yi Sang earnestly and panickingly clarifies he didn't mean to insult his fellow Sinner. In general, Yi Sang has come to show much more of himself with time, including quirks and flaws. However, the wider range of his personality just goes to show that Yi Sang is in a much healthier place than he once was, as he is now determined to live moving forward alongside a new set of companions.

-- Backstory - Yi Sang is a former member of the League of Nine Littérateurs, a society of inventors and scientists, alongside Gubo, Dongrang, Dongbaek, Aseah, Young-ji, and many others. The members of this society were all from S Corp., having emigrated to T Corp.'s Nest to avoid corruption and to seek research opportunities. Yi Sang picked up a job as an architect, designing factories for producers in T Corp., which allowed him to comfortably fund the League. During his time there, he developed the Mirror, a device capable of reflecting the alternate worlds and timelines of the viewer, modeled after a concept (the "Glass Window") by Young-ji.

Yi Sang became engrossed in his invention, which he dubbed "Yeonsim", and within it, he encountered and befriended his alternate self, Sang Yi. The Mirror provided Yi Sang a comfort from the reality of his situation, allowing him to dream of a distant world in which he did not need to submit his abilities to the will of the City, that would only twist his inventions to hurt others. As the fate of his compatriots and the League began to be threatened by various Wings, that had taken interest in his and Young-ji's inventions, Yi Sang found himself relying more and more on Yeonsim and Sang Yi, while starting to lose interest in the painful truth of the League's internal problems. After a raid by T Corp., the League fell apart. Yi Sang, shocked from the experience and unable to shake himself out of the feeling of apathy that seized him, was taken by Gubo, who wished to keep making use of Yi Sang's abilities, and together they escaped through the T Corp. Backstreets. Gubo whisked Yi Sang away to safety to an N Corp. laboratory, where Hermann and Gubo would attempt to gather a new League of Nine to further research the Glass Mirror. After spending an amount of time confined in a featureless room, sedated daily and interacting only with his Mirror, Yi Sang eventually defected after Hermann ordered him to research a way to destroy all the possibilities of the Mirror Worlds. He was then found by Faust who invited him to Limbus Company; there, he would refine his Mirror into the current engine of Mephistopheles, developing the Identity system, a technology capable of pulling forth alternate selves and abilities to be used in battle.

Yi Sang is noted by his documentation to have been the youngest chief researcher of an unknown Wing; in reality, this refers to his time under N Corp., where his research was used as the basis for further experiments.

-- Main Story - After fleeing N Corp. and meeting Faust, Yi Sang was invited to join Limbus Company: he would be the first Sinner.

During his early time with the Company, Yi Sang would come off as exceptionally closed-off: during the group’s exploration of the old L Corp. in Canto I: The Outcast, Ishmael appeared clearly surprised to see him willingly join in a conversation, leading to Faust explaining that he wasn’t always like this, and that he just “had a shift recently”. This would later be explained as a consequence of Yi Sang's psychological collapse following the fall of the League.

During this mission, Yi Sang crossed paths with one of his old compatriots for the first time since leaving N Corp., as he once again faced Gubo, finding out with a mix of disappointment and resignation that his old friend had decided to continue working with Hermann. Later on, during the mission at J Corp., Yi Sang was surprised to witness Rodion and Sonya's quick separation, and questioned Rodion on her feelings about it, hinting at the matter of the League still weighing heavy on his mind.

Limbus Company relationship: Upon joining the team, Yi Sang took some time before warming up to the LCB crew. His interactions with his coworkers were quite limited, and he would often remain passive in many circumstances, not forming ties with anyone in particular, not interfering when the other Sinners would fight, and refusing to pick a side even during Gregor and Ryōshū's cook-off. Even still, he would begin to enjoy the new companionship, having his abilities recognized by some of the Sinners, such as Heathcliff[1] and Faust[2], and being at times involved by others, like Don Quixote and Sinclair, in their time off[3]. The events of Canto IV marked a profound change in Yi Sang's relationship with his coworkers. In the fathoms of ego, upon reminiscing on the fallen League, Yi Sang would compare Hong Lu to Brother Young-ji, recognizing many of positive qualities of his lost compatriot in the Sinner's kind and calm demeanor, and at the end of the mission he would decide to confide in Dante his decision to walk forward and no longer be carried along by the course of events, and rely on them to help him on this path.

After this, Yi Sang began to make a continuous effort to forge new friendships. During the group's stay in U Corp.'s Backstreets, Yi Sang is the first to invervene during Ishmael and Heathcliff's fight, reminding everyone of the various plans they had for their stay in the District and suggesting to indulge in a moment of respite, helping Dante momentarily defuse the situation. As Ishmael's mood worsens once more, leading to a second fight, Yi Sang appears heavily dejected, being reminded of the infighting he'd already witnessed in the moments of highest tension in the League, but still not giving up, instead searching for new ways to help his fellows, such as asking Faust for insight on the other Sinners' preferences, supposedly to present them with gifts.

Yi Sang would continue to reveal this side to his personality during the mission in U Corp., showing care and worry toward Dante after the Manager's heavy injury, and for Ishmael upon the group readying to face off with the Pallid Whale. Similarly, Yi Sang would be one of the first Sinners to attempt to comfort Heathcliff during the group's journey towards Wuthering Heights. In the same instance, Yi Sang would also appear strongly impressed by Rodion's color-themed personality test, further showing Yi Sang's consistent and genuine interest in learning of his fellows' likes and unique talents.

-- Faust -- Gender: Female Height: 174cm Birthday: February 2nd Quick Description: "Faust (Hangul: 파우스트, pa-u-seu-teu) is designated Sinner #2 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Faust is an observant and intelligent woman with a slight know-it-all attitude. She was the first Sinner to be affiliated with Limbus Company, having spent the time leading up to it recruiting the members of the LCB and developing Mephistopheles."

-- Appearance - Faust is a woman of average build with shoulder-length white hair and powder blue eyes. She has an incredibly pale complexion and a rosy tint to her cheeks.

She wears a beige turtleneck underneath a black leather vest with a large black leather coat resting on her shoulders, reaching her knees where the fabric is torn. She wears a black waist belt with her ID being on the left side. She wears black business pants accompanied by black shoes.

In battle, Faust wields a zweihänder with "WALPURGISNACHT" written on the blade near the hilt. While wielding it in one hand or holding it at rest, she has a tendency to grasp it by the ricasso rather than the hilt. Furthermore, the parrying hooks of the sword are heavily enlarged, forming what is essentially a second crossguard.

-- Personality - Faust is a talkative, albeit soft-spoken, Sinner with a condescending manner of speech and ineffably high confidence in her intelligence. Despite technically being Dante's subordinate, she often takes the role of their informant and overseer, as she is privy to considerably more information than her fellow Sinners. Because of this, she has a consistent and unwavering faith in her abilities, and does not show any signs of panic even in troublesome situations throughout the first six Cantos. While her expanse of knowledge always proves helpful for the LCB, her egotistical attitude can be excessive. At times, she is outright and unnecessarily contemptuous towards others' inability to keep up with her pace, most frequently Heathcliff, as she appears to lack understanding for those who do not meet "Faust"'s high standards of intelligence. This gives several of the other Sinners moments to criticize her harshness, though she remains steely and steadfast in her ideas, dismissing criticism of her attacks of others.

As one of the more inactive Sinners, Faust frequently prefers to stand back and watch events unfold, often lacking in information she's permitted to indulge, though displaying the fact of lacking knowledge as a place of false certainty. She is kept under the control of the Gesellschaft, a communication network with the Fausts of other Mirror Worlds, which dictates how and when she is allowed to share or access knowledge, among other things. Her inability to access the Gesellschaft connection during Murder on the WARP Express is the first show of vulnerability in Faust, who grows more timid and uncertain as a result. In the face of such hardship, Faust grows self conscious and remains intent on maintaining an indestructible image, even despite her coworkers appreciating the new, more agreeable side of her. Still, she would come to realize the difficulty and uncertainty of a life without Gesellschaft through this event, leaving her with some newfound empathy for those who lack the knowledge she carries.

The Intervallo also makes it clear that, by referring to herself in third-person, she is not always referring to herself, but perhaps another "Faust". As Dante finds, many of her statements come off as considerably less haughty with the knowledge that she is not necessarily referring to herself as an individual. Although she can be strict and dismissive with the other Sinners, this seems to be primarily a result of approaching matters with a strictly logical perspective, rather than any form of ill will, though she will occasionally utilize teaching moments as places to condescend the other party. Her competitive and dismissive relationship with Hohenheim, by comparison, makes it clear that Faust's usual attitude isn't a product of hostility, but rather a constant search towards the factual that butts heads with others doing similar. This also demonstrates that even she is prone to bouts of pettiness; Faust appears to possess many traits and interests that don't benefit the LCB's objectives, such as a love of engineering expanded beyond the creation and maintenance of Mephistopheles. Furthermore, as her relationship with the Gesellschaft is expanded on, there grows an implication that Faust's arrogance is at least in part a result of her trying to compensate for the bullying and degradation she faces for being considered a failure among her peers. The frequent condescension is tied to the innate intelligence of Faust and her Mirror World peers, acting as a defense of character rather than an ontological truth to be conveyed.

Faust has been moderately less secretive about her situation following the incident on the WARP Train, and more understanding of the Sinners' personal wishes and inquiries. Additionally, she appears to have grown more comfortable confiding in Dante about her situation. Although still a know-it-all, Faust now comes off as a bit awkward and self-conscious, painting a more human image of her. Rather than solely using her moments of fact as a place to speak down to the other Sinners, she will sometimes choose to utilize them for learning opportunities, for both herself and others.

-- Background - Despite her role as a Sinner of the LCB, Faust has a unique position in Limbus Company that differs from the other Sinners. Faust personally recruited several members of the Limbus Company Bus Department and outranks even Dante when it comes to accessing information and files related to the company. When she recruited the members of the LCB she made deals with them, promising them that, by working with the company, they could have their most impossible wishes granted. After Yi Sang's abscondence from N Corp., Faust offered him the role of the first Sinner with the promise to help him recover his broken wings. At the end of Leviathan Faust appeared to recruit Vergilius as the guide of the LCB, telling him that in return they will bring Garnet and Lapis back to him. Like the other Sinners, Faust herself is known to have joined the company to have a wish realized and to have signed a contract forbidding her from talking about it.

Faust is tied to what she defines the Gesellschaft, a net of connections with other Fausts which allows her to access knowledge and receive information from other dimensions. The Gesellschaft is what Faust refers to when she speaks in third person. This gives her the potential to know all things, but her own, personal knowledge is not nearly as extensive as she presents it to be. Additionally, the Gesellschaft can deny Faust's requests for information, although this seems to be an infrequent occurrence. The Gesellschaft also seems to intentionally omit information, though no reason has ever been given as to why they do this.

-- Don Quixote -- Gender: Female Height: 158cm Birthday: March 3rd Native District: District 16, P Corp. Quick Description: "Don Quixote (Hangul: 돈키호테, don-ki-ho-te) is designated Sinner #3 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Don Quixote is a rambunctious and steadfast woman with a strong sense of justice. She never parts with her shoes Rocinante on her quest to become a valorous Fixer of the City, and was previously associated with the amusement park of La Manchaland prior to joining Limbus Company."

-- Appearance - Don Quixote is a short woman with blonde hair styled in a bob cut and deep, round hazel eyes. She wears the Limbus Company uniform: a plain white shirt tucked under a black waist belt, a red tie, black slacks, worn brown running shoes, and a long black coat. Her upper body is thoroughly decorated with various Fixer merchandise.

Notably, Don Quixote forgoes the Limbus Company uniform shoes and instead wears a pair of yellow shoes with the word "Rocinante" embossed on them. Don Quixote wears a variation of this footwear in nearly all of her Identities.

Don Quixote wields a massive jousting lance named "SUEÑO IMPOSIBLE" that towers over her, indicating that she is much, much stronger than she initially appears to be. This fact is further supported by her dexterity with such a massive weapon and her effortless ability to pierce a human skull with it at short distance.

-- Personality - Don Quixote is a naive, energetic individual with a childish view of how the world works. She talks in an exaggerated, animated manner and jumps into any scene with enthusiasm, regardless of the gravity of the situation. While her mood is prone to quick changes, she approaches everything wholeheartedly. On a bus filled with hardened personalities, Don Quixote sticks out as incredibly friendly, silly, and over-the-top woman. Fitting of her knightly persona, she speaks exclusively in Shakespearean English.

Don Quixote has an intense sense of justice and desire to protect the weak. She cannot stand to watch idly as innocents are harmed, and her desire to protect children is particularly strong. While this benevolent attitude is a respectable rarity in the City, it proves to be troublesome when paired with Don Quixote's high levels of impulsivity. More often than not, this determination to shield others from harm only serves to cause trouble for the people around her. Intervening during the separation of parent and child as the LCB's attempted to enter into K Corp.'s Nest led the Sinners to fight several unnecessary battles against the Wing's feathers in Canto III, just as engaging in a duel against a Cinq Fixer in Canto VII to convince him to rescue citizens ends up a bloody, fruitless cause. However, a reprimanding from Vergilius after the K Corp. incident did lead to improved behavior from Don Quixote, as she began to learn to think before she acts.

The passionate spirit defining of Don Quixote's character originates from her great love of Fixers. Although Fixers are little more than contracted help, Don Quixote views them as the City's altruistic heroes of justice, and yearns to be one herself. By playing the part of the people's knight in shining armor, Don Quixote believes herself to be living up to a worthy Fixer's example. She particularly idolizes famous Fixers such as Siegfried, Vergilius, and the Red Mist, but has a great deal of love for each and every one of them, enough to gush over the likes of Nelly or the Molar Office. Although Don Quixote lacks a lot of general knowledge of the City's workings, she is utterly unmatched when it comes to Fixer-related wisdom.

At times, Don Quixote's love for Fixers and want to be like them are at odds with each other. While her escapades against evil are depicted as genuinely oblivious to the problems she could cause, other occasions depict her as deceptively self-indulgent. Intervallo III: Miracle in District 20, for example, sees her endanger the LCB's lives so that she might get a chance to meet the "Red Sack", all while suggesting the mission is actually for Heathcliff's sake.[4] Additionally, her rambunctious attitude often earns her disapproval from those around her, who view Don Quixote as unrealistic and immature. Nonetheless, Don Quixote is scarcely portrayed as having ill intentions. Rather, she tends to come off as cheeky and adventure-driven, wishing the best for everyone, including herself.

-- Background - Although little is known of her early life, Don Quixote was a native of District 16, where she led a profoundly unhappy life, having been left without a family for so long she no longer remembered having one.

-- Ryōshū -- Gender: Female Height: 172cm Birthday: April 4th, 957 Quick description: "Ryōshū (Hangul: 료슈, ryo-syu; Japanese: 良秀, りょうしゅう, ryōshū) is designated Sinner #4 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Ryōshū is an ungovernable woman with a fascination in art that she uniquely defines, with little tolerance for what disinterests or offends her. She was previously affiliated with a group of powerful figures connected to the Five Fingers of the Backstreets known as the House of Spiders prior to joining Limbus Company."

-- Appearance - Ryōshū is a woman of average height and build, with straight black hair in a bob cut style and sharp red eyes, which at times can be seen glowing. She wears the dark gray and red LCB coat around her shoulders, secured by a small belt that goes over her right arm. Attached to the coat itself is her ID card. She wears black trousers, and her shirt uniform untucked; she foregoes the tie. She is occasionally depicted with a black glove on her left hand.

Along with this, she typically carries around a sheathed ōdachi on her back, with the words 無我夢中 阿鼻叫喚 支離滅裂 (mugamuchū abikyōkan shirimetsuretsu, "Wading through a dream, the self nowhere to be found. Like the Naraka of Avīci and Raurava. Severed and torn until even the form is undone.") across it. The ōdachi's hilt is golden, and decorated with a butterfly pattern. The end of the sheath is wrapped in a red ribbon. The blade is consistently sheathed, as pointed out during the story.[5] In Mirror Worlds, she typically wields a separate weapon, while noticeably still carrying her ōdachi behind her. After Canto IX, Ryōshū's ōdachi changes appearance, now being white with red string wrapped around the handle of the blade and along the scabbard. The words 三生縁分 三千世界 三世因果 (sanshou enbun sanzensekai sanzeinga, roughly "We are tied across all our lives, all possible worlds, and all possible times") are written upon it in the calligraphic style of her original scabbard. The sword is also revealed to be titled Arayashiki (阿頼耶識).

-- Personality - Ryōshū has an individualistic, free-spirited, and somewhat sadistic personality. She maintains a hostile attitude with most everyone that she speaks to, feeling no obligation to uphold common courtesies like politeness or attentiveness. Even among the Sinners, she is strikingly unfriendly and forthright.

She is one of the least talkative members of the LCB, and does not maintain particularly respectful relationships with her coworkers. She labels herself as someone who dislikes butting in, and tends to scoff at the others for overthinking matters or sentimentality. Often, she sees the others as ignorant for not understanding "true artwork", which, for Ryōshū, typically involves gruesome murder.

When she does speak, she almost always includes a form of SANGRIA ("succinct abbreviation naturally germinates rather immaculate art"), an abbreviation of a sentence or phrase. She considers this to be most efficient, describing not using abbreviations as a waste of time, and growing irked whenever others misunderstand what she's saying. While she doesn't seem to care whether others "accept" her, Ryōshū's frustrations over her abbreviations going mistranslated or untranslated demonstrate that she dislikes being misinterpreted. Most often, Ryōshū speaks up in order to chime in about art or family.

Ryōshū's definition of art is not defined in any specific terms, but primarily takes the form of purposeful and creative violence, which she finds beautiful. Similarly, she has a distaste for crude, senseless violence, and holds a notable disdain for the Ring, despite their position as fellow bloodshed-based artists. Ryōshū also consistently works in the name of her own entertainment, committing actions that could be considered impulsive, or even to the detriment of the LCB, should she find it interesting. On the other hand, she grows frustrated and unhappy when bored. While willing to back down if given the order, Ryōshū loathes being told what to do, which she's not afraid to make clear to Dante and Faust.

Although Ryōshū continues to come off as somewhat self-centered, encouraging Rodya to smile at the end of Intervallo IV: Timekilling Time shows that she is at times capable of paying heed to other people's feelings. This softer side of her personality also comes through on a more regular basis via her relationship with Sinclair, who is one of her most frequent conversation partners, and someone she is notably patient with. On certain occasions, Ryōshū will help clarify difficult acronyms for him, while on others, she will compliment him on his high level of understanding of her verbal intentions. During Intervallo VI: Spring Cultivation, her more attentive side comes to light even further, as Ryōshū's class for Sinclair and Xichun revolves around teaching them how to take care of children, with her commenting that unruly adults must be dealt with violently, but unruly children must be soothed and treated with care and attention. In this occasion, Ryōshū even stops smoking, commenting that she does not do it in front of children. Ryōshū is shown to greatly value these concepts, and during the Intervallo and the preceding Canto both she remarks on the importance of the memories of one's childhood in shaping one's future.

-- Background - Ryōshū has been raised by the House of Spiders, an organization made up of high-ranking members of each of the Five Fingers, and her five Nursefathers: the Sottocapo of the Thumb Valencina, the Proxy of the Index Rien, the Great Brother of the Middle Matthias, the Maestro of the Ring Callisto, and the Dihui Star of the Pinky, Shiomi Yoru. Ryōshū's entire life was controlled and shaped by the House, with the Prescripts choosing for her the name Yoshihide, and with her own birth, from the blood of the Dihui Star,[1] having happened by the will of the Five Fingers, for the scope of creating a swordsman whose blood would be compatible with the Relic Arayashiki, due to the Dihui Star's ability to perceive time perfectly. Yoshihide spent her youth in the House, working as an assassin and killing at the request of her five Nursefathers, while continuing her training to become a perfect wielder for her sword. While not all of the Nursefathers were aware of the eventual goal they were training Yoshihide for, they all had high expectations for the girl, with many of them seeing her as an occasion to recover the prestige they'd lost in their Syndicate. Valencina saw Yoshihide as her "golden ticket" back into the good graces of Famiglia Bognatelli, and was physically abusive with her ever since the girl's childhood as a way to vent her frustration; Rien would treat her gently, but was volatile and focused on the guidance of the Prescripts, seeing Yoshihide as a tool to be completed; Matthias appeared protective and dedicated, but merely used her as an excuse to indulge in his own wishes; Callisto wished to make Yoshihide into someone he could share his passion for art with, uncaring of the girl's fear and horror when faced with his work; Shiomi Yoru was physically and verbally abusive to Yoshihide, often reminding her of how much she resented her existence, and the fact that her birth had taken her freedom and youth from her. Yoshihide would remember them all as people incapable of feeling pity for another being, only caring about what use she could have for them.

Beside the training received from her Nursefathers, Yoshihide was also tutored by a number of other prominent members of the Five Fingers. Among them was Lei Heng, a Capo of the Thumb and member of the Pinky, who one day, during a training session, convinced Yoshihide to unsheathe her sword. In the process, the girl's mind was wounded by the Relic, causing her to enter a state of shock. Yoshihide would thus learn that Arayashiki had a peculiar power: whenever it was used, it would erase a part of the wielder's memory, and if wielded perfectly, it was able to completely erase anything from existence. After this accident, the five Nursefathers decided to place five seals on the sword, making it so that Yoshihide would only be able to unsheathe it upon the group's unanimous decision.

As a young adult,[2] during a mission at a laboratory of the Thumb, Yoshihide found a child, whom she'd learn had been biologically engineered from her own DNA.[3] The child introduced herself as Araya and called Yoshihide her mother; when she asked to be taken home with her, Yoshihide agreed to do so, and began raising Araya as her own. The decision received a mixed reception among the Nursefathers, and was particularly looked down upon by the Dihui Star: Shiomi, who had often asked Yoshihide to not become like her, viewed the parental bond as a fetter.

Yoshihide raised Araya to the best of her abilities, allowing the child to go to school and quitting smoking around her, as well as attempting to keep her away from the various members of the Fingers. Yoshihide also taught Araya how to read: during one such lesson, Yoshihide taught Araya how to write her own name and Yoshihide's, which Araya found too complicated to pronounce, instead suggesting she read it as "Ryōshū". In turn, Araya would teach Yoshihide about the abbreviations that the kids at her school had been using, a conversation that would lead to the creation of Yoshihide's own SANGRIA. Despite her wish to give Araya the normal childhood she hadn't received from her own Nursefathers, Yoshihide's obligations towards the House of Spiders had to take precedence, and she would often be forced to leave for her assignments, at times wielding Arayashiki and returning home with tampered memories, a fact which would worry Araya. Yoshihide used Arayashiki nine times, four before Araya came, and five times after,[4] each time losing a memory of her daughter she cherished so much.

This led Yoshihide to realize she couldn't bear to live at the behest of the House of Spiders anymore, and she decided to free herself and Araya from their control. Before making her escape, Yoshihide instructed Araya to hide in a Time Vault, a small safe that made use of the T Corp. Singularity to make it so the flow of time inside was much slower than on the outside. Yoshihide had often hid in the safe as a child, and she trusted its properties would allow Araya to hide in it for two years without perceiving the true passage of time.

Once Araya was safely hidden, Yoshihide started to cut her way through the Nursefathers, making use of Arayashiki to cut Valencina's eye, Rien's face, Matthias's arm, Callisto's sword, and the Dihui Star's tongue.[5] As she made use of her sword, her memories were sliced away, and she soon struggled to recall the time she'd spent together with Araya. Still, she held on to the knowledge of the hiding spot and of her purpose to return to her.

After having made her escape from the house, Yoshihide was found by Faust and invited to join Limbus Company, with Faust promising that if she did, she would be able to destroy the House of Spiders and reunite with Araya within two years, as opposed to the five she'd planned ahead for. Yoshihide accepted, taking on this new mission and changing her name to "Ryōshū", as Araya would call her.

-- Mersault -- Gender: Male Height: 188cm Birthday: May 5th Native District: District 14, N Corp. Quick Description"?: "Meursault (Hangul: 뫼르소, mwe-reu-so) is designated Sinner #5 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Meursault is a reserved and complacent man with a desire to be clearly communicated with. He was previously affiliated with N Corp., having tried and failed to form an opinion on their ideals prior to joining Limbus Company."

-- Appearence - Meursault is a tall, well-built man with slicked-back black hair and small green eyes. He possesses a sharp face with a thick neck and wide eyebrows. He wears the Limbus Company vest, but opts not to overlay it the standard company coat. Underneath his vest is the typical white collared shirt and red tie. His ID hangs from his right breast. Meursault's belt is notably different from the other sinners', and rather than being fitted with several silver frames, has one large, rusted chain link for a buckle in the middle.

In battle, Meursault wields two elbow-length gauntlets in battle; the lower portion of the right gauntlet has the word "SOLEIL" emblazoned on it.

-- Personality - Meursault is a very prompt man, with a penchant for following orders. He speaks bluntly and concisely, never mincing his words. Throughout his first few adventures with the LCB, Meursault is reserved and obedient to the point of not speaking or acting on the sole basis of not having been asked to.

He is noticeably emotionally distant, never emoting nor approaching matters from a non-logical standpoint. While he has a heightened awareness of the world around him, often noticing details others do not, he has trouble discerning which observations are worth sharing. This leads to situations wherein he either shares too much, such as reciting irrelevant emoticons while reading off an email in Canto IV: The Unchanging, or shares too little, as when he failed to report the sudden disappearance of Limbus Company's target in Intervallo III: Yield My Flesh to Claim Their Bones. He also has a tendency to struggle with social cues, such as by provoking others unintentionally, characterizing him as somewhat awkward in the process. Meursault makes an effort to learn from his mistakes, however, and is quick to adapt after criticism.

With time, Meursault has begun to share some of his thoughts and take initiative without being ordered to. Yet, his prolonged and inexpressive manner of speech often leads to others jumping to conclusions and cutting him off before he can finish speaking. While most of his comments remain tailored to the logistics of the present situation, he may occasionally admit to something more vulnerable, such as feelings of nostalgia. And while many of his judgements are extremely objective and utilitarian, following only the will of the manager, some do take others' feelings into consideration. Notably, Canto VI: The Heartbreaking sees him weigh the success of the mission against Heathcliff's safety, ultimately prioritizing Heathcliff's survival.[4] He also uses his E.G.O to successfully bind Erlking Heathcliff without being prompted. Meursault implies he can remain entirely inactive without orders if need be,[5] indicating his indecision is a conscious choice he is slowly breaking from over the course of the story.

-- Background - Meursault was previously employed by N Corp. for an unknown length of time. While working for the Wing, he would think about his own personal opinions on humanity and if it aligned with N Corp's ideals of believing that pain is necessary to be considered human, but he never came to a conclusion. Meursault has mentioned being familiar with the N Corp. Taboo Hunter Vespa Crabro, though he has denied being a Taboo Hunter himself.[6]

In the past, Meursault was more open to elaborating on his thoughts without being prompted to do so, but after he found that people were often unable to accept what he had to say he stopped sharing such information with others. He used to wander about to discover the joys of life, and often visited clubs during this time. Meursault also used to smoke "Most things that fall under the category of 'cigarette'", but eventually dropped the habit of his own will, as he failed to see any purpose in maintaining it further.[7] When describing his past in Canto IX he explains having "partook" in activities both generally seen as "right" and "wrong" by society,[7] which further emphasizes the experimental nature of his behavior at that time. Meursault has mentioned that he has seen multiple cases of Distortion Phenomenon, but did not confirm if this was related to his time at N Corp. Meursault has also confirmed to have heard Carmen's voice in the past,[8] but it has not been confirmed if this led to a Distortion, E.G.O, or neither.

As a child, Meursault was scolded by his mother in a way he describes as similar to the way that Outis reprimands Don Quixote and Heathcliff in Intervallo III: Miracle in District 20.

-- Hong Lu - Gender: Male Height: 178cm Birthday: June 6th Native District: District 8, H Corp. Quick description: "Hong Lu (Mandarin: 鴻璐; 鸿璐, Pinyin: Hóng lù; Hangul: 홍루, hong-ru), chosen name of Baoyu (Mandarin: 寶玉; 宝玉, Pinyin: Bǎoyù) of the Jia Family, is designated Sinner #6 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Hong Lu is a lighthearted and naive man with a tendency for unintentionally insensitive words. He is one of several children of the large and wealthy Jia family, having lived a life of sheltered affluence prior to joining Limbus Company."

-- Appearance - Hong Lu is of average height and build, with a pale complexion and raven black hair. His hair is very long, and tied into a high ponytail with a cyan hair tie, which he wears in most of his Identities. Notably, he has heterochromia: his right eye is black, and his left eye is a bright cyan.

His typical outfit consists of an LCB uniform consisting of black pants, a white long-sleeved dress shirt with a red tie, under a black, low-cut vest tucked into a belt. Additionally, Hong Lu wears a long black coat that reaches just above his ankles. This coat has his Sinner number on his left, and a metal pin inscribed with his name on the right.

Hong Lu carries a long guandao called "太虛幻境" (pinyin: tài xū huàn jìng; lit. 'Illusory Land of Great Void'), which he wields with his right hand.

When seen during his childhood, Hong Lu had a similar hairstyle, and he typically donned a white hanfu with light blue and gold decorations, beneath a white beizi. When seen during his adulthood in Daguanyuan, Hong Lu sported a similar look, consisting of a cream-colored hanfu with teal decorations, and a matching beizi.

-- Personality - Hong Lu is an exceptionally curious person with a rather ditzy demeanor and friendly attitude. He exhibits a potent, almost childlike indiscriminate curiosity and wonder, to the point of baffling the people around him. While this implies having lived a sheltered lifestyle up until his employment with Limbus Company, a closer inspection into Hong Lu's life will reveal that he grew up in a difficult family full of danger, betrayal, and lofty expectations. Hong Lu speaks casually of attempted murder and abuse against him in a similar way to how he approaches the hardships of the City, almost as if it has nothing to do with him. He has a tendency to give off the impression that he doesn't have particularly strong feelings about anything, regardless of the severity of the topic. While sometimes jarring, this trait primarily serves to make Hong Lu come off as amusingly easygoing and absentminded.

Hong Lu also appears to lack inherent social tact, leading to excessively oblivious statements and questions when something inevitably catches his eye. While this does earn him some disapproval, he does not grow angry or depressed when others give him a difficult time. Hong Lu will either playfully disregard words of scorn, or is altogether too oblivious to be hurt by them, at least outwardly. Although some matters may lead to him growing more obedient or solemn, Hong Lu will consistently let anything and everything slide right off of his back without complaint or meaningful retort. This lends to the impression that Hong Lu is denying himself the chance to experience his true feelings, which is later shown to be the case. Nonetheless, he maintains an exceptionally cheerful, carefree attitude throughout Limbus Company's first year together. He is additionally very amiable and shown to be open to striking up neighborly conversation with everyone he comes across.

Despite this, Hong Lu is neither loud nor particularly talkative. Rather, he comes off of as reservedly observant. Canto IV: The Unchanging is the first story chapter to give insight into Hong Lu's unique perceptiveness and emotional intelligence. He takes the role of Young-ji in the League of Nine play, who Yi Sang describes as the most gentle and heartfelt of the League in their heyday, and contributes tender observations pertaining to Yi Sang's mental state and growth throughout his Dungeon. Here, Hong Lu demonstrates striking maturity and self-control in contrast to his usual attitude.

Following the confrontation with his grandmother, Hong Lu is more emotionally reflective than ever. While his years of abuse cannot be undone, he shows a quiet determination to avoid holding his tongue and preach the kindness he believes in. Having made new bonds, mended old ones, and accepted the loss of others, Hong Lu grounds himself to the present with its variety of opportunities for happiness, wrath, sorrow, and joy.

-- Background - Hong Lu was born to Jia Zheng and Lady Wang, of the Jia Family of Hongyuan. Upon his birth, his grandmother Jia Mu fed him a special Bolus: this turned his left eye into a jade one, which acted similarly to a camera and transmitted everything Hong Lu saw to a screen in the Tiekan Temple, home to the Xianren, the immortal elders of the family, who gave him the name of Jia Baoyu, meaning precious jade.

Hong Lu was born with a purpose: to provide entertainment for the elders during their long lives. Because of this, while growing up in Daguanyuan, he held the favor of the elders and of Jia Mu, the Family Hierarch, who greatly prized his role as gem of the family. This made him stand out among his siblings and peers, all of whom had to train to one day participate to the Family Hierarch Evaluations of Daguanyuan in hopes of receiving the elders' favor.

Rather than by his parents, Hong Lu was looked after by his servant Xiren, who resided with him in his pavillion, Yihongyuan. He held a close relationship with his younger sister Jia Xichun, his younger brother Jia Ling, his playmate Lin Daiyu and his relative Jia Huan. Additionally, Hong Lu, Daiyu and Huan were often looked after by the latter's older brother. Hong Lu recalls styling his sister and younger sibling's hair,[1] and remembers playing various games with Daiyu and Huan, with the three of them flying kites, playing ball and playing Bolus-making games.

-- Heathcliff -- Gender: Male Height: 180cm Birthday: July 7th Native District: District 20, T Corp. Quick description: "Heathcliff (Hangul: 히스클리프, hi-seu-keul-li-peu) is designated Sinner #7 of Limbus Company's LCB department. Heathcliff is a brash and action-oriented man with a strong, dedicated spirit. He was previously affiliated with Wuthering Heights, having grown up alongside the Earnshaws and later worked for the Dead Rabbits Syndicate prior to joining Limbus Company."

-- Appearance- Heathcliff is a tall and well-built man with messy dark brown hair parted on the right side of his head. He possesses sharp, glaring eyes that are a dark shade of purple, and slit pupils. His eyebrows are the same shade as his hair and are both slit, his right eyebrow having two slits and his left just one. He has a dark complexion with a number of scars littering his arms and going all the way up to his cheeks.

His work uniform lacks the typical long black leather jacket, instead including a holster which is strapped around his chest and shoulders, with his employee card hanging below his right breast. The sleeves of his Limbus Company white shirt are rolled up to his elbows. He wears a red tie, black suit pants with a black waist belt and dark gray shoes.

His weapon of choice is a long metal bat with bandages wrapped around the handle and the word "REVENGE" written in sharp letters on the barrel, which Heathcliff holds in his right hand and rests over his shoulder. After the events of Canto VI, he refashioned the bat to spell out "REmember". This is also reflected on his LCB Sinner battle sprites.

During his makeover in Canto VI, Heathcliff wears a formal suit in the style of T Corp., composed of a white shirt underneath a red vest and a blue overcoat with red lapels, both decorated with golden trimmings, a white cravat and dark suit pants and boots. His hair has been combed back and tied into a low ponytail.

Notably, although difficult to catch, Heathcliff wears a ring on the pointer finger of his right hand.
