Janice is fair, quietly commands the space she is in, believes in honor and justice, and will save herself for the right man to come into her life. The Duke of Cambria (her secret crush) has ridden off to stop corruption in other parts of the kingdom. He has left Janice in charge of the estate, a task she is proud of.
The Kingdom is falling into dark times. Greed, corruption, ignorance and hate slowly take over what used to be a bright , quiet, and peaceful kingdom ruled by just nobles and fair laws. Times are changing, as Count Danwold of Marigo sets on a path to take over the kingdom and rule it for his benefit only. A few places hold out against the corrupt count, but slowly they fall to treachery born of greed and empty promises. The attack on Whitestone Keep had gone poorly for the count, until he was able to bribe part of the defensive line to lay down their arms. Janice's forces were routed, Janice herself was injured and captured. Minions of the Count are summoning her to a fake trial to defile her honor. As the sentence is pronounced and the perverted minions begin to tear away at Janice's armor, a commotion breaks out in the hallway, as Cambria has returned to reclaim what was rightfully his.
